Dragon Age Origins Walkthrough Part 35 – A Paragon of Her Kind, Part 1
Head for the Frostback Mountains. Once there, get to the gates of Ozammar. There you will find one of the guards engaged in a heated argument with a representative from Loghain who is trying to get in and demand an audience with the Ruling Council or the present Ruler. The Warden (especially if a Noble Dwarf) can easily persuade the guard to let them in. You can either intimidate the messenger or just outright kill him. Killing the messenger does not seem to have any consequences. The guard will thank you either way and allow you into the city of Ozammar.
When you arrive inside you are in the Hall of Heroes. There are a few beggars around but there are also a codex entry to be found here: The Paragons. Toward the end of the fall you will find a Dwarven Scholar. It is very possible (if you funded/defended the scholar) that this one will reveal his master is working on a new book on the Aeducans. You can pass a little information along but it will not be a big help. At the far Northern end, just to the right of the door you will find a Commission Report which adds the codex entry “The Key to the City.” After that head through the door nearby to enter into the Commons.
Things are not pretty when the Warden walks up, the two political parties are up in arms and they both want to ascend to the throne. Head forward and to the sign post on your right. This gives you some basic directions after that, approach the Captain of the Guards. Dwarves will receive a cold welcome and the rest get one colder still. Still, talking with him points you toward the people who need to find if you wish to start the quest. Vartag Gavorn is Bhelen's Lieutenant, who is found in the Chamber of Assembly while Dulin Forender is Harrowmont's Lieutenant. Here is where the quest starts to split. You need to side with either Bhelen or Harrowmont. This can have a major change on how the game ends. Still, it is enough to say that Bhelen is the progressive candidate, for helping the casteless reclaim some of the their original rights and sees that interacting with the surface as the future. Harrowmont is the conservative candidate: he for dwarves solving dwarven problems and keeping the outsiders out.
Head along the Western inside path to find Danga, who starts the “Unlikely Scholar” side quest. She wants to head over to the Circle of Magi to study more about magic itself. It is a quick little side quest that can have a major impact on later events. Opposite her you will find Nug Wrangle Boermor. He is looking for help as he starts the “A Lost Nug”. Head past her, down the stairs toward the Deep Roads. You cannot go in there for now but you can head a little more forward and look to the right to find the Codex entry “The Shaper's Life”. On the Eastern side of the inside circle you can find Brother Burkel who starts the side quest, “The Chant in the Deeps” and talking with Felda starts the side quest, “A Mother's Hope.” Take some time and head down the bridge toward the Proving. There you will find the Document that will give you a Codex Update.
If you head into Dust Town and continue forward down past the first turn you will encounter 4 Dust Town Thugs and 1 Dust Town Thug Leader. The leader is the strongest of the bunch while the rest are more your garden variety fighters in both Melee and ranger. Just past where this encounter starts you will find some rubble. Interacting with it will give you the “casteless” codex entry. Heading in farther you can get a number of side quests here. You will also find another update to the codex along the way South on the Western side of the inner circle just south of Alimar's Emporium. Talk with Nadezda, offering some coin, and she will gladly tell you plenty about things in Dust Town. She explains who “rules” it and how things work. You will more side quest here as well, from Rogek you can get “Precious Metals”. Talk with Zerlinda in the far Southeastern part of Dust Town to get the side quest, “Zerlinda's Woe”.
