Once you finish out the month during which you conquered Fontaine, the computer begins the next month by highlighting Violight, and pointing out that you are now able to challenge the warlords of Pugilis, Violight, and Crysalia.
Oichi has a look as well, and mentions that these opponents are pretty strong compared to what you’ve had to deal with so far. Pugilis, she mentions in particular, since Fighting types are especially dangerous to you and her- Eevee and Jigglypuff are not well-equipped to deal with heavy hitters like are seen in Pugilis. She goes on to worry about these new kingdoms attacking your fortresses, especially if you don’t keep at least a few Warriors in them at all times. Thankfully, Aurora only has direct roads to your previous three captures, so you don’t have to worry about staffing it if you don’t want to.
With Violight your next target and filled with electricity, you’re going to want to lean really heavily on your Grass Pokemon as they resist Electic attacks- a resistance that many players even of the core Pokemon games fail to take advantage of. A notable addition you can make to that force as well is Morichika’s Wooper. As a Ground-type, this pokemon is immune completely to electric attacks, and neutral to the attacks of the other two pokemon found there. Assuming you can keep it in the line of fire of the opposed Electric pokemon, Wooper becomes a mighty, mighty wall indeed.
Of additional, notable value here are Carnivine, if you have one, and Onix, which you may have a chance at should a trainer appear with one now (potentially in Aurora). Carnivine is levitating, so it can evade ground traps and pressure plates as well as overflying some obstacles, and its grass typing grants it resistance to Electric attacks. This gives it basically nothing to be wary of in Violight, though its Vine Whip attack isn’t of much use against the Starly you face there. Onix is a massive body, and being Rock/Ground, is completely immune to Electric attacks, just like Wooper. Unlike Wooper, it has a lot to fear from the Panpour that is located in the electric fortress, so if you get one and bring it, have a bit of caution- but as long as you keep it clear of that one hazard, it will keep your front line up. Onix don’t deal much damage, but Rock Tomb cuts Range when it hits, so use it to keep things away from more vulnerable targets- or in dangerous areas. It also has the added advantage of being supereffective against Starly, giving you a way to get Muneshige out of your way much faster, by helping you deal with Starly’s resistance to Grass and Bug, which otherwise stymies most of your best picks for this fight.
