Dead Island: Riptide Characters – Purna (Overview)

Purna Stats:
Health: 100
Speed:100
Stamina: 90

Perks:
Self and group combat buffing aura, Personal Sidearm in Fury Mode, More Ammunition, Penetrating Shots.

Expertise: Firearms Expert
This skill is very useful as she gives guns a huge boost in this setting. If shooting zombies is your bag, then Purna is your character. She can easily build up the needed weapon skill levels in the beginning of the game and her perks make it easier to keep guns feasible even though they are overall rarer than the other weapon types. If you can get the Nail Gun and hold onto it then you are set for the early game until you can get your first revolver.

Skills Overview
Combat:
Purna is not as muscular as many of the others on the island. This means that she can fight well with a light bladed weapon. This makes it easier on her lower Stamina. It is a good idea to grab the skill “Blade Fighter” and back it up with a single point investment into “Vampire”. From there change over to “Hard Knocks” to get more out of your every swing as it increases the damage done the more you invest into it. As guns do not use stamina (and Purna is gun centric) grabbing more of “Vampire”and any of “Randori” do not help as much as you might think. Follow that up by grabbing “Gender Wars” as a surprising amount of the zombies are male to begin with. This also lets you get through to “Firearms Training”, a key skill for Purna. After that you want to get “Cold Rage” to help save ammo. In the next tier you want to go after “Wunderwaffe” as it boosts modified firearms. Wrap it up by going for “Gun Kata”. This is another great boost to Purna's ability to shoot and makes it even easier to keep your resources.

Fury: Guardian
If you want to start clearing a horde of zombies with minimal shooting then you want to invest into this tree, especially if you are in the multiplayer party. Her fury allows her to take out the targeted zombies with just one shot. This also gives a passive boost to your nearby allies as you when you use her rage. Unlocking “Guardian Spirit” and “Guardian Angel” to boost the length of her furies and increases the kills per shot. Ideally, from this tree you will want: “Grim Inspiration” for the up to 35% boost to Rage gain with Modified Weapons. “Righteous Fire” is very help as it gives a 40% rage gain from the usage of firearms. Keep your focus on modified firearms in game and you will be a fury machine. This will also give a great series of buffs to your team as well. Keep it in mind.

Survival
After the obligatory “Boost Mood”, which increases a number of stats by 15% to everyone within 5 meters Purna (and her), you gain access to a number of different boosts. The better news is the buffs from the aura will stack with the skill boosts from Purna's combat tree. After that, turn your focus toward “Lockpicking”. Purna gets it the earliest of all the characters so it can go a long way toward helping you just find more loot. Moving into the third tier of the Survival tree you will want to grab a level of “Conditioning” to boost her stamina to increase her sprint time. After that put the remaining 2 points of this tier into “Custom Maintenance” to save money on repairing modified weapons. After “Custom Maintenance” you will want go for “Boost Ambiance” to increase the buffed attributes up to 20% and increase the aura range to 10 meters. It takes a while for things to really be worth it in this tree for a while. Later in the game grab “Recycler” in this tree to increase the amount of bullets you get from using Blueprints. Now move toward “Rain Of Bullets” in the sixth tier. Maxing this out gives a substantial boost to your ammo stocks. The final one of note is “Boost Aura”. Remember these buffs stack up with the increases from the various skills that augment them as well.
