Dead Island: Riptide Walkthrough Part 25 – The Mission: Pump Action
The rest of the team will join you now at the Mission. Take some time to explore the ruins and then get the fencing up in this area. With the fencing up around most of the area then it is time to go and talk with Trevor. He will tell you that there is a mud pump nearby that the Aussies used during the war. It is time to bring that old pump back to the Mission and put it to good use. Accept the mission and then it is time to do some stocking up.
First, do what you can to stock up on Team Quest, see if you cannot get Jane up to Quest 2 or 3. Be sure to head on up the stairs to the second floor of the mission. Here you will find a case full of mines. Take your time to go on through it numerous times, each time you visit this base camp. This will be a big help sooner than later.
When you are ready use the map to Fast Travel over to Marik's Marina. Head to the Northeast from the Fast Travel Point. You have a lot of zombies to deal with both around where you appear and on the landing where the pump. First you will find a Floater with some support from a pair of Suiciders. This is the easier part.
Head over to the Northeastern side of this area and climb on up the ladder there. Head West across the board and climb on up to the roof. Continue over to the West across the rooftop. Look down to find a yard filled with Walkers. This is where a Molotov or a Grenade can go a long way to simply clear things. That still does not remove all of the threat from the area.
Start by heading down into the area and go into the workshop. This will draw out the final zombies. This group is a Suicider, a Walker and a Thug. Try to get the Suicider out first so you can hit him with a thrown weapon and get him to explode and do massive damage to the others. It will make dealing with the thug that much easier. Deal with them then search the workshop. You will find a lot of useful parts around it. Search the room and you will find the Heavy Duty pump. Grab it, head over to the barricaded door and interact with it. Set down the pump and deal with whatever Zombie are outside the doors. This can be up to 2 Floaters and a few Walkers so be careful.
Head down to the pier and over to the right. Here you will find a boat. Approach it and hold down the action button. This will prompt your character to place the pump in the boat. After that just follow the marked path inland toward the mission. The boat tends to draw a lot of attention. Use this as a good time to grind up some experience. Floaters are a great source of XP given the few opportunities to run them over.
Just head back to the mission after having had your fun in the boat. Pull down one of the fences and head on through after that. Go to the back where the stairs and set up the pump in the marked location. It is time to get to work on the next part. Do not talk with Trevor just yet.
