Metro: Last Light Walkthrough Part 8 – Torchlight

The pair of Pavel and Artyom touch down at the base of a ladder. Time to start following Pavel again. Just follow him forward and wait for the Nazis to cut the lights. From there it a simple matter of pulling out your Flashlight and having it on for the rest of this mission. Follow Pavel over to the end of the tunnel where they have sealed it off. Go over to the right where he is. He will point out a grate that he wants you to open: do so and head on through the opening.

Follow Pavel down this new tunnel to the elevator. Be sure to have a weapon out in addition to your light. The lighter will let you burn through the webbing if you get the flame in the middle of it. When you make it to the elevator just head on inside.

Keep your eyes moving as the elevator will stop a few times. Eventually you will be rushed by a number of large spiders. You can shoot them but it is easier to just shine light on them. If you do shoot, aim for the stomach as it is the one vulnerable point they have.

When the elevator reaches the top head out with Pavel. Just a few steps away from it he will be attacked by one of the arachnid creatures. Shine your flashlight on it until it turns belly up. After that just shoot it a few times to kill it. After that, get your lighter out again and resume following Pavel. When he pauses at the door you can head over to the right through a short passage. There you will find some more ammo then catch up with Pavel. Head forward and make a running jump across the first gap. You will shortly come to a second which is a lot wider. As Pavel and Artyom figure out a way across 2 more arachnids will come to attack the pair, one from each side. Once again, shine your flashlight on them then gun them down.

When the arachnids are gone, Pavel will call Artyom over. Head over to him to help him pull a pull out of the ground. The pair then uses it, in turn, to get across the gap. On the other side Pavel will tell you to head for the car in front of you. As you do, another pair of arachnids will attack. Kill them then get to the car. Move over to it and Pavel will lift you up onto the top then save you from one of the creatures attacking you. Run down to the end of the car and another will attack. Fend it off then head over to Pavel. The pair of you will swing across the gap using a rope. From there just follow Pavel through the tunnel. There are the occasional rooms to find and investigate for more ammo so keep a look out for them.

When Pavel and Artyom reach the end of the tunnel you will be greeted by a locked door. Head over to the right with gun and lighter in hand. Be sure to take a moment to quickly pump up your flashlight as well with the charger. Head down the passage and you will quickly find a room with a red light inside it. That is your destination but there is a little more to find first. Head over to the right of that room and continue on down the passage.

As you pass the first divider on the left, look over there. You will see a corpse with a notebook in its clutches. Claim the notebook and look around some more. At the end of this passage you will find a massive ammo cache. From there head along the right-hand side. This will lead you to the red lit room. Interact with the fuse box to power up the door then head back to Pavel. This will get you onto the next part.
