Heart of the Swarm Campaign: Char- Domination (Part 2)
Zagara will respawn every so often and go about collecting eggs while escorted by a pair of hydralisks- if you like you can beat her into remission each time, or you can choose to ignore her unless she crosses Kerrigan's path and simply focus on finding eggs. Either way, you will need to gather 100 eggs before Zagara can do the same. Make sure that when you cross the feral Zerg colonies and Zagara's forces, you use Kerrigan's abilities to take out the colonies rather than the troops- while the units here are numerous, the main damage is going to come from sunken colonies attacking your units and enduring for long periods of time.
The enemy forces here include relatively few banelings compared to the various infested Terrans and Zagara’s ranged troops (primarily hydralisks). This means that if you have visited Kaldir first, you’re going to find the roaches and hydralisks you gain there of great utility- otherwise, you’re stuck leaning on just zerglings and banelings for combat forces- not the best option against decent to strong ranged attacks. While the lightest Zerg units can still work in such situations, you will find yourself needing a considerably larger number of them in order to competently combat both the rogue Zerg and Zagara’s brood- particularly if you assault her base before collecting the full 100 eggs, you can wind up with so many units on the field at once that they wind up getting in one another’s way. If you’ve come to Char before going to Kaldir, you should concern yourself most with swiftly gathering eggs and leave the combat for what chance encounters you have between Kerrigan and Zagara. With hydralisks and roaches at your disposal, though, the combats become considerably easier- particularly as the enemy ranged units tend not to have the raw reach that hydralisks do, rendering them easily taken out.
At such time as you successfully collect 100 eggs, Sarah will prompt Abathur to hatch them- creating a full hundred banelings with which to assault Zagara's base. Send them on their way immediately if you feel like, or continue collecting eggs- either way, you've pretty much got this fight in the bag.
If you’re looking for a serious challenge, trying to trim your time down as much as possible, or in Hard mode looking for an achievement, you can always run this mission as a straightforwards assault against Zagara’s brood and try to destroy their entire base, leaving the rogue Queen with no support at all and essentially letting you camp out on her ‘respawn point’. This, or at least crippling the enemy base with an assault, can actually become necessary on the hardest difficulties, as the presence of the enemy forces will otherwise cripple your ability to gather eggs.
