Dead Island: Riptide Walkthrough Part 40 – Sidequests – Memories
You get this side quest from Damien. It is very simple to begin during “City Newcomer” as you are looking for the alternative entrance to the cinema. Damien is found to the West of the Front Cinema entrance. Head up the stairs, through the small plaza and over through the next gateway. There you will need to fight through a few Walkers but nothing too hard. Climb up onto the scaffolding and from there go up the ladder to Damien's Work Shop. He will ask you to find him a battery to keep things working. Accept and head back down to street level.
Find a Battery
Head on forward from the area Damien is in and into the plaza before it. Keep to the left-hand side and look along the way. You will spot a tipped over Postcard Display just after a pizza place. Go and look underneath the leaning Postcard Display to find the Battery you are looking for. Head on back over to Damien. He will be somewhat forgetful about what he is doing but sends you to find 2 Spark Gap Tubes.
Spark Gap 1
Head into the southern portion of Henderson. There are 2 areas to search for these Spark Gap Tubes. The first and closest is to the Southwest of the Old Town Cinema. Head on out of the cinema and go to the front of it. From there it is a simple matter of going through the gate to the South of its entrance and then turning to the East. Head past where you can Rescue Kyle and jumping onto the Red Tiled Rooftop just past Mezgter Sloat's Hideout Dead Zone. Head across the scaffolding and go over to the left, after dealing with the sole Walker on it. You will see a fencing in area. There you will find the Work Bench and the first Spark Gap. You can also head across the scaffolding and up onto the church where you can find the Assassin's Poison modification on top of it.
Spark Gap 2
Head to the far Southern portion of Henderson. It takes a little while to get to the green zone but it is not too hard a search for once. When you make it to the outlaying portion of the green zone you will want to head. Just go South a few plazas from the Theater. A good fast route is to head past the Makeshift Hospital, to the left, and climb up and over the ladders to get to the far side of the buildings quickly. From there continue South until you see a Red Tiled Roof with some scaffolding next to it. Climb up the scaffolding and jump onto the roof. Head across it and into the search area. There are a few Infected that will charge you. Take them at range then get down to the ground. If you take the ladder against the roof, just head on down it and then around the base of it. By the dumpster here you will find the second Spark Gap. Head on back to Damien. He is still confused but will ask you to get him a Coil from the nearby military base.
Find the Coil
Once you can access the Military Base (in Chapter 9, “Militarized Zone”) you can complete this side quest. Once inside the Command Post be ready to fight. There might have been a lot outside but there are still zombies inside the building itself. Head on forward through the metal detector then go to the right in the next room. Go to the end of it then turn to the right. You will see an open doorway leading into a stairwell. Go through the door and down the stairs on the right. That will get you down into the basement itself. Head straight to the back then over to the left. You will see a Thug standing by a Work Bench. Kill the Thug then go over to the shelving on the left. There you will find the electric coil you need to complete this quest. Grab it and return to Damien. He will remember what he was building and give you the blueprints for the Electrotherapy Weapon Modification.
