Heart of the Swarm- Korhal: The Reckoning (Part 3)

Fortunately, by this point you will essentially have Mengsk bottled up and can worry less about incoming attacks against your main base.  One more Dominion outpost remains in the North center of the map, but Jim quickly gets on the assault here so you shouldn't have much to worry about- between his battlecruiser and troops, and the aberrations occasionally provided by Stukov, the enemy there will be not only distracted, but likely have a rather large hole torn in them from the West end.  If you’d like, you can take it out by diverting your assault briefly- be aware that there is no direct connection between this sidebase and the main defenses surrounding Arcturus’ palace.  There are some annoying battlecruisers and other air troops in the area, but nothing you really need to worry about, particularly given they won’t cross into Mengsk’s main fortress to pester you unless your air units go out of their way to spread out and intrude upon thair airspace.

This leaves you with the straightest bit of combat the whole campaign- simply assault Mengsk until his base collapses.  There are a number of production facilities and bunkers here, and the command center in front of the palace is a dangerous Planetary Fortress, but if you’ve kept Kerrigan’s ultimate ability ready (or at-hand in the case of the Leviathan), then it shouldn’t be much of an issue.  You don’t even need to take out more than just that, and even it only needs to be torn down to make room for your attack forces to all reach the gates of the palace simultaneously and blow them open.  At the last possible moment, just after the palace is breached, he will airdrop in a number of marines, but this is simply too little too late to save him from your assault.

At long last, Sarah Kerrigan breaches the fortress of Arcturus Mengsk.  Even his 'final surprise' isn't enough to do her in, thanks to the presence of one James Raynor.  With that, the Emperor is finally slain, the Dominion freed from his influence, and the work of the Queen of Blades done....

...here.

Amon awaits....
