Skyrim Sidelines- The Forsworn and Kolskeggr Mine (Part Two)
The mine itself consists primarily of one long tunnel. You'll reach a distinct corner after descending a bit- watch for the Forsworn patrolling just beyond this- and then things will be mostly straight for a while. Ignore the side-tunnels when you reach the four-way intersection, as they both lead only to more ore veins and those aren't safe to dig in while enemies are about.
Continue around a corner and you'll near a large chamber with a wooden walkway in it- two more Forsworn patrol here, though these still are of no major note. Handle them how you will (they are both weapon-users) and ascend the ramps to follow on to the next passage. Here, another Forsworn patrols, but he is again alone and fairly easy to take out. Turn right at the next divergent tunnel to rise further towards the surface, but be wary- the Forsworn patrolling this last tunnel is their leader, a Forsworn Briarheart.
If being blasted with cold and having your stamina drained is at all an issue for you, you'll want to lace your weapons with Magicka poison, or at the very least have a strong ward ready. Also viable is the use of a shield with the spell-deflecting Block talents.
The confined space is a huge help here, as it pretty much invalidates the main threatening Briarheart attack pattern- throw Frost spells and back off as the slowed PC staggers slowly forwards. This is the last of the Forsworn, thankfully, so with him dead you can return to the Left Hand Mine and tell Skaggi and Pavo of your accomplishments.
Head back out the long way- there are a whopping eighteen gold ore veins you're going to want to avail yourself of, rather than dropping down the pit behind the Briarheart to the entrance of the mine.
With your job done, return to Left Hand Mine to recieve a considerable cash reward for your clearing it of the occupying Forsworn.
