It wouldn’t be a Sims game without the typical list of cheat codes that do things from giving you money, to allowing you to edit objects, and even edit the sims themselves.
To access the cheat codes in The Sims 4, hit Ctrl+Shift+C (or Cmd+Shift+C on a Mac) on your keyboard to bring up the cheat console.
Once at the console, you have a list of possible codes to enter for different effects.
This list is setup with the code on the left, and the effect no the right. Any options for the cheats are in brackets, but you do not use brackets when entering the cheat code.
kaching – Gives you 1,000 simoleons
rosebud – Also gives you 1,000 simoleons
motherlode – Gives you 50,000 simoleons
death.toggle – Toggles whether sims can die or not
fps [on/off] – Toggles an FPS counter in the top right corner of the screen
freerealestate [on/off] – Makes real estate in the neighborhood cost nothing when toggled on, must be turned on in the neighborhood or world view
fullscreen [on/off] – Toggles playing game in full screen or window mode
headlineeffects [on/off] – Toggles the Sim talk bubbles and thought balloons
resetsim [first name] [last name] – Returns the Sim to the safety of their home
quit – Exits the game
testingcheats [true/false] – Turns on additional cheats outlined below when toggled to true
With the testingcheats true cheat listed above, there are several extra cheats you can use, which are probably some of the most useful cheats in the game.
For any cheats that show brackets, that simply means that you enter a specified value without brackets.
aspirations.complete_current_milestone – Complete current aspiration challenge and awards points
bb.showhiddenobjects – Debug mode
cas.fulleditmode – Enable more cheats as menu options
fillmotive motive_[motive name] – Fill indicated motive
households.autopay_bills [true/false] – Toggle autopaid and disabled bills
households.force_bills_due – Force bills to be due
modifyrelationship [your Sim’s full name] [target Sim’s full name] [value between 50 and -50] Friendship_Main – Change friendship level between two Sims
modifyrelationship [your Sim’s full name] [target Sim’s full name] [value between 50 and -50] Romance_Main – Change relationship level between two Sims
money [number] – Set funds to indicated amount
objects.consumables_infinite_toggle – Toggle infinite consumable items
objects.gsi_create_obj [object ID] – Spawn object
relationship.create_friends_for_sim – Spawn Sim on your lot with “friend” status
relationship.destroy [your Sim’s ID number] [target Sim’s ID number] – Destroy relationship
relationship.introduce_sim_to_all_others – Your Sim has acquaintances with all Sims
relationship.make_all_sims_friends – Skip introduction menu for all strangers (irreversible)
setage – Set current Sim’s age to Adult
sims.add_buff satisfaction_points – Add 100 aspiration/satisfaction points
sims.summon_sim_to_zone [Sim’s ID number] – Force Sim to current lot
sims.add_buff buff_role_serviceNPC_maid – Current Sim acts like a maid
sims.remove_buff buff_role_serviceNPC_maid – Current Sim no longer acts like a maid
sims.add_buff pregnancy_trimester1 – Make Ghost or Sim pregant and in first trimester
sims.add_buff pregnancy_trimester2 – Make Ghost or Sim pregant and in second trimester
sims.add_buff pregnancy_trimester3 – Make Ghost or Sim pregant and in third trimester
sims.add_buff pregnancy_inlabor – Make Ghost or Sim pregnant and at full term
sims.add_buff buff_death_electrocution_warning – Cause death from fixing electronics
sims.add_buff buff_death_elderexhaustion_warning – Cause death after working out
sims.add_buff buff_mortified – Cause death by embarrassment within 5 hours
sims.add_buff buff_motives_hunger_starving – Cause death from starvation within 1 day
sims.get_sim_id_by_name [Sim’s first and last names] – Show a Sim’s unique ID (used with other cheats)
sims.modify_funds +[number] – Add value from current funds
sims.modify_funds -[number] – Subtract value from current funds
sims.spawn – Spawn and add Sim to your household
sims.spawnsimple – Spawn Sim on lot as visitor
stats.set_skill_level [skill name] [value of 1-10] – Sets specified skill level to specified value, skill name list:
Shift + ] on the keyboard – Increase the size of an object
Shift + [ on the keyboard – Decrease the size of an object
With cas.fulleditmode turned on, shift clicking on an object or a Sim will provide new cheat options:
Shift Click on the Ground
Teleport Here: Move selected Sim to that location
Shift Click on the Mailbox
Reset Object: Resets the Mailbox to the default state (empty?)
Shift Click on an Object
Make Clean: Makes a dirty object clean
Make Dirty: Makes a clean object dirty
Reset Object: Resets the object back to default state
Shift Click on a Sim
Add to Family: Add selected Sim to the current family
Cheat Motive – Disable Motive Decay: Motives don’t change
Cheat Motive – Enable Motive Decay: Motives change dynamically (default mode)
Cheat Motive – Make Happy: All motives are set to full and mood is set to Happy
Modify in CAS: Allows Sim to be modified in the editor, except for their name and inherited traits
Reset Object: Reset the Sim back to default state
