Wildstar is the newest big MMO to hit the market. With its colorful graphics, unique races, and quirky storyline, it's a big departure from your typical fantasy MMO game. Like most MMOs, Wildstar has a variety of servers to choose from. Make sure that if you want to play with friends, you all make characters on the same server. The second thing to consider is if you want to play on a PvP or PvE serve. On a PvP server, you will be flagged for PvP in certain areas and can be attacked by other players of the other faction. On a PvE server, you will not be flagged automatically, although you can choose to fight other players if you want to. Your server choice is permanent for that character, so choose wisely!
There are two factions to choose from in Wildstar: the Dominion side and the Exile side. The faction you choose will determine what races you can choose from. It also affects the storyline.
There are four races to choose from for each faction. Each race has certain classes that they can choose. The races and the classes they can choose are as follows:
Cassian – Engineer, Esper, Medic, Spellslinger, Stalker, Warrior
Chua – Engineer, Esper, Medic, Spellslinger
Draken – Spellslinger, Stalker, Warrior
Mechari – Engineer, Medic, Stalker, Warrior
Aurin – Esper, Spellslinger, Stalker
Granok – Engineer, Medic, Warrior
Human - Engineer, Esper, Medic, Spellslinger, Stalker, Warrior
Mordesh – Engineer, Medic, Spellslinger, Stalker, Warrior
There are six different classes to choose from in Wildstar, and each class has the ability to have two different roles – one DPS, and one other. Choose a class based on what you like to do when playing MMOs. Check out the different roles each class can take on:
Engineer – DPS, Tank
Esper – DPS, Healer
Medic – DPS, Healer
Spellslinger – DPS, Healer
Stalker – DPS, Tank
Warrior – DPS, Tank
Each character gets a path. There are four different paths available, and these paths allow your character to complete different tasks and get certain rewards. Paths also help your party and let you access certain buffs and benefits. Here are the four paths to choose from:
Explorer – This path involves finding hidden locations, jumping puzzles, and completing maps.
Scientist – For this path, players must scan plants, animals, and other items across the world to learn more about the environment.
Settler – A player who chooses this path will need to build various resources around the world, including buff stations, guard towers, and more.
Soldier – This path will allow players to engage in combat holdouts at special stations.
Once you pick your faction, race, class, and path, you can customize your characters looks. Pick your face, hair style, hair color, and more. Once you're done, you can get started! You'll start in a beginning area, which will walk you through the first quests of the game and teach you how to use your skills and equipment. Have fun!
