Diablo, Lord of Terror: Skills and Abilities - Heroes of the Storm

Do we really need to present Diablo? The Lord of Terror from the game that bears his own name comes to Heroes of the Storm to show who is boss. Known in the ancient language as Al'Diabolos, the Prime Evil of Terror strives to plunge the world of the Sanctuary into the fires of hell. His victims are innumerable, his schemes unknowable, and his gender... malleable. Diablo can charge at enemies and mow them down by breathing fire.

Terror Has a Name

Everyone knows the name of fear and it is Diablo, Lord of Terror.

Diablo, like his brothers Mephisto and Baal, was born from one of the seven heads of the great dragon Tathamet at the beginning of time. He is the youngest of the three Prime Evils that rule over the Burning Hells but he is also the most cunning and farsighted of the Primes. Unlike his kin however, Diablo doesn't conquest for the sake of power, he draws his satisfaction from the terror that runs rampant before the onslaught. Even his own realm within the Burning Hells is a testament to horror, few would dare go into the Realm of Terror where even demons are afraid to venture. The story we know of Diablo starts a few hundred years ago when he was banished to the Mortal Realm of Sanctuary during the coup d'etat in Hell that would later be known as the Dark Exile. Diablo and his brothers immediately set about spreading terror, hatred and destruction across the lands of men until a group of mages known as the Horadrim managed to defeat them and lock their souls within sacred relics know as the Soulstones.

Diablo's Soulstones were forgotten about for three hundred years under the town of Tristram, capital King Leoric whose advisor Lazarus was none other than an emissary sent by Diablo's brother Mephisto who had escaped his own soulstone some time before. Lazarus freed Diablo and helped him try to possess Leoric. But he was still too weak to control him and drove the king insane. The king's son, Aidan, heard of the problems in Tristram and came to defeat Diablo, but his victory was short lived. The Soulstone was jammed into his skull, allowing Diablo to possess him. In the meantime, Adria, a witch living in Tristram seduced Aidan and had a child with him so that she could bear a child with the essence of her master.

Aidan left for the East where he tried once again to conquer the Mortal Realm but his plans were foiled by a band of heroes. Twenty years later, Adria would return and use her child Leah to revive Diablo who now possessed the power of all seven great demon lords. And he would have succeeded in his goals were it not for the intervention of a mortal hero, the Nephalem.

But is Diablo truly dead? How does one kill Terror when all living things keep Fear within their hearts?

A Stunning Set

Diablo is clearly a powerful warrior of muscles and magma. With his many stuns and his charge, he can plough horns down into the action and control all those who dare to venture too close the the front. He has, among other things, an array of offensive spells that allow him to give all he's got in AoE in the fights. A solid frontliner to strike the first hit while waiting for the cavalry.
