FNCvsSKT

Origen vs SKT T1

Surprise! SKT won!

Ok now that is out of the way, lets look into the games itself.Origen did a lot of “First” in this series. They were the first group to take down a Tier 2 turret AND an Inhibitor Turret. They also were the first team to have a gold lead at 20mins on SKT. They did a lot of good things, but SKT just capitalized on their small mistakes. A lot of small fractures will soon lead to a break, and SKT knows this. SKT did exactly that and went 3-0 in the series, which was no real surprise, except that I was for sure it would of been 3-1. SKT has yet to lose a game, and I don’t think they will.

Game 1:

Bans were Tahm Kench, Elise, Gangplank, Rek’sai, Mordekaiser, and Lulu.
Origen’s team was Soaz on Kennen, Amazing on Evelynn, xPeke on Viktor, Niels on Tristana and Mithy on Alistar.
SKT T1’s team was MaRin on Fiora, Bengi on Jarvan IV, Easyhoon on Azir, Bang on Kalista and Wolf on Shen.

This game, was to me, the closest that Origen got to winning. Overall they had a much more team oriented fight while SKT had a pick comp. Giving Bang Kalista was probably the bad idea though. This is the game where Soaz had the amazing outplay to dodge first blood… to only give it 2 minutes later when he comes back top. It was very back and forth after that. Bunch of teamfights, and things were going well. Origen sneaks a Baron at 23mins and pushes into inhibitors in all 3 lanes… then SKT turns it around at a Dragon fight. SKT gets second baron, pushes and wins on it.

Game 2:

Bans were Azir, Mordekaiser, Lulu, Gangplank, Kalista, Elise.
SKT T1’s team was MaRin on Renekton, Bengi on Jarvan IV, Easyhoon on Orianna, Bang on Sivir and Wolf on Tahm Kench.
Origen’s team was Soaz on Fiora, Amazing on Rek’sai, xPeke on Anivia, Niels on Tristana and Mithy on Morgana.

This game was an interesting game. Origen swapped from team fight to late game siege comp with an easy wave clear. SKT went with another pick composition. MaRin gives up First blood, first time for SKT to do at Worlds when Niels, Mithy and Amazing tower dive him. The problem is… you can’t counter MaRin by picking his champion. He knows it, he knows the counters. Renekton turns it around mid game and Amazing makes quite a few mistakes. The Game did take awhile, game ends at 36:30 after Dragon #5 drops to SKT.

Game 3:

Bans were Kalista, Elise, Kennen, Tahm Kench, Mordekaiser, Gangplank
Origen’s team was Soaz on Gnar, Amazing on Lee Sin, xPeke on Lulu, Niels on Sivir, and Mithy on Alistar.
SKT T1’s team was MaRin on Rumble, Bengi on Rek’sai, Faker on Ryze, Bang on Tristana and Wolf on Shen.

This game was a stomp. 25:53 was the timer when it finished. SKT had a better comp overall with Faker showing up and playing Ryze. SKT really wanted to close it out. Soaz dies without flashing for First Blood to MaRin. At 10 minutes SKT is up 4,000 gold. Then it furthers to 7,000 gold. At this point Origen can’t get caught back up or ahead for their team comp to work. You can’t protect the carry when you can’t survive the burst. Baron drops at 23:25 to SKT and they steamroll to victory 2 ½ minutes later.

FNCvsKOO

Day 2: KKO Tigers vs Fnatic

This one surprised me. Fnatic didn’t show up like they have been all tournament, and KOO really stepped up their game. Thought at least it’d go to a 3-2 game margin with Fnatic winning, but it went 3-0 with KOO domination. Making it KOO vs SKT in the finals this weekend.

Game 1:

Bans were Tahm Kench, Gangplank, Shen, Mordekaiser, Lulu, and Elise.
Fnatic’s team was Huni on Hecarim, Reignover on Rek’sai, Febiven on Leblanc, Rekkles on Kennen and YellOwStaR on Nautlius.
KOO’s team was Smeb on Riven, Hojin on Zak, KurO on Kassadin, PraY on Kalista, and GorillA on Alistar.

Two new champs have arrived to Worlds! First time seeing my favorite Divers. The Aquamon Nautilus and the Slingshot Gooball Zak. Bringing the roster of champions at Worlds to 74 unique champions. Kennen/Nautilus is a crazy CC chain that if combo’d correctly could be devastating to… oh wait, is that a Kalista that can just hop, jump and skip away with an Alistar that can Headbutt you away? Yup. Oh well. Starts off well for Fnatic where all the lanes are winning and even the Reignover was out farming Hojin. Smeb gives first blood to Huni and Reignover after Smeb goes top without a tower behind him. After that it’s a blood bath. Kills left and right. KOO gets the first Dragon. Second dragon goes to Fnatic… they dive and give an Ace. KOO gets their second dragon. Fnatic attempt a cheesy Baron kill, but Smeb stops them. KOO takes Dragon and Baron after that. After a few of Fnatic’s inhibitors drop, they get the jump on KOO and kill a few and get their Baron. KOO gets Dragon #4 at 36 minutes. KurO though gets a Quadrakill and ends the game at 43:20.

Game 2:

Bans are Leblanc, Elise, Lulu, Gangplank, Rek’sai and Mordekaiser.
KOO’s team was Smeb on Fiora, Hojin on Zak, KurO on Viegar, PraY on Kalista, GorillA on Tahm Kench.
Fnatic’s team was Huni on Riven, Reignover on Skarner, Febiven on Azir, Rekkles on Ashe and YellOwStaR on Alistar.

KOO’s team is a catch and pick team. Fnatic on the otherhand have a lot of AoE which is great for bursting down Tahm Kench when he doesn’t know who to save. Also very inactive junglers until 6. First Blood and double buffs go to KurO at 8:40. Huni has the “Fail Flash seen across the Web” at 12:15 that drops him to Smeb. Fnatic does get first dragon 3 minutes later and get some nice picks with Alistar. After that, Fnatic keeps getting caught. Dying left and right which leads KOO to Baron at 29mins. Fnatic fight right after and gets Aced. All inhibitors are down and KOO back out. Fnatic gets a Baron after that, and dies with it. KOO pushes to end it and goes 2-0.

Game 3:

Bans are Tahm Kench, Gangplank, Shen, Mordekaiser, Viegar and Elise.
Fnatic’s team was Huni on Riven, Reignover on Rek’sai, Febiven on Orianna, Rekkles on Sivir and YellOwStaR on Thresh.
KOO’s team was Smeb on Hecarim, Hojin on Lee Sin, KurO on Lulu, PraY on Ashe and GorillA on Alistar.

KOO got Lulu! Fnatic gives a Korean team Lulu with a Hecarim. Ashe/Ali is a very strong combo as well. Sivir can only spell shield 1 of the multiple slows and stuns… knock ups and other fun stuff. Towers and kills get tossed all around this game. Febiven flashes into Crystal Arrow at least once. Fnatic actually has a gold lead of 3,000 at on point, but Huni and Reignover aka Gameover, keep getting caught. PraY is a god when it comes to these Crystal Arrows and keeps getting picks. Now at 20mins, KOO is ahead 12 kills to 4 and 5,000 gold ahead. Baron drops at 24 minutes to KOO and they siege hard. 11,000 gold and 14kills ahead. Game ends at 30:31 after everyone literally dies to Hecarim and Lulu. KOO advances.

KOOvsSKT

Predictions for KOO vs SKT:

My prediction still stands. SKT will win this. They might finally drop a game, but it’ll be 3-1 at the very least. Possibly a 3-0 with SKT sweeping KOO. I think Easyhoon will play the first game. If he wins, he’ll play in game 2. If he loses, Faker will show up and win the next 3. KOO will have the minor mistakes they have all Worlds long, but SKT will capitalize on anything and push it to their advantage until they win… and we get another set of SKT skins! Lulu will be fought over… Fiora will be fought over. Darius seemed to have slide off the face of the world and Gragas will still be banned. Possibly we’ll see Zak again, which’ll make me happy. Possibly something new out of KOO even.
