Beta Data: October 9, 2015 .

It has been a while, folk, but beta news in the MMO industry never rests so best we catch up on the past couple of weeks!

Camelot Unchained

Camelot Unchained revealed that their goal is to have the game in Beta by the end of this winter. They have a list of things they want to work on and polish before they can do so, and their focus will be remaining on the current feature set of the game, not on adding new things.

Crowfall completed their first Pre-Alpha Hunger Dome combat test, with the next one due in November along with the Champion archetype. They will also be holding a cosplay contest with Ruby, Amber, and Sapphire Pledge Packages as prizes.

Gloria Victis released a major update with the aim of improving the combat experience and how PvP handles in the world, and another which focused further on combat mechanics, as well as building systems and adding AI to NPCs.

Unless you happen to live under a rock, you are likely well aware that No Man’s Sky featured on the Stephen Colbert show and still didn’t give us a release date! However, it did reveal the true scope of the game which makes us think that actually, perhaps it is highly unlikely that we will ever come face to face with another player while exploring this galaxy. Also, they named a bunch of things after Colbert, as you do.

Waiting for a new superhero MMORPG to sink your teeth into? Valiance Online is getting ever closer to Alpha, preparing for a move to Steam with the addition of the last major gameplay systems to be added.

But if dinosaurs are more your bag, you’ll be pleased to know that ARK: Survival Evolved released a major update which introduces snow and swamp biomes, as well as – you guessed it – a bunch of new dinosaurs.

Armored Warfare

Heading over to the realm of tank warfare, Open Beta arrived this past week for Armored Warfare. You now no longer need to purchase your way into Obsidian Entertainment’s addition to vehicle combat MMOs, just download, patch up, and play.

Remember Battlecry? Bethesda’s team shooter seems to be in a spot of trouble as the studio have stated that they have some concerns over whether or not it might reach their standards of quality alongside several other ongoing projects they have right now. We will have to wait and see what happens.

Orcs Must Die! Unchained launched patch 2.5, introducing Zoey, a lively, colorful character who specializes in elemental magic alongside her faithful bat companion, Feebee. This patch also saw the servers wiped and many more chat features implemented. Join us in killing those orcs!

That’s a wrap on the Kickstarter campaign for Divinity: Original Sin II, which ended on September 30, raising over $2 million for the development of the turn-based co-operative/competitive multiplayer RPG. Time for the development process.

Guild Wars 2 held the final Closed Beta weekend for Heart of Thorns ahead of the expansion’s launch, this time opening up raids to testing and allowing for players to play around with all elite specializations announced to date.

Also, Brad McQuaid’s throwback fantasy MMORPG project, Pantheon, acquired seed funding which will allow development to expand and Pre-Alpha testing has now been scheduled for later this year, with Beta testing estimated for some time in 2016. Seems as though Pantheon might actually happen!
