There are a couple of basics that every World of Warplanes player should be aware of when delving into aviation battles. While it is smart to play through the tutorials to familiarize oneself with the controls and interface, this is not everything that gamers have to know in order to succeed. This free-to-play shooter is much more complex than that: Whoever wants to effectively win matches in standard battles needs to understand the classes, models, and modules of all aircrafts.
World of Warplanes features four different classes, each with their respective strengths and weaknesses. Learn each of the classes’ stats in order to gain advantages over them in battles. Each class has a different color assigned to it - Fighters are grey, Heavy Fighters dark grey, Carrier-based Fighters blue, and Ground Attack Aircrafts are brown. Click on any of the planes in order to compare them to your own aircraft. According to this information you can come up with a strategy for the battle.
That is not everything you should know before heading into battles. Make sure to study the plane models to find out if it makes sense to attack a certain aircraft or not. Again, it is of utter importance to know your enemies’ strengths and weaknesses. You can find comparative markers in the bottom of your target window, which instantly compares your own plane with the one you have currently locked-on.
Modules are quite important.
Last but not least, players should not underestimate the importance of modules. They are more than just ways for you to improve the way your plane looks. Modules can give your aircraft significant performance boosts that will give you specific advantages in battles. Sometimes, it makes more sense to upgrade a module than to purchase the next tier plane. The former is also significantly cheaper than going for an entire new aircraft. Make sure to evaluate your choices.
