Phew, now this one definitely requires quick timing and a lot of focus. Your main enemy in level 9 of the Big Wave Beach world in Plants vs. Zombies 2 is the Snorkel Zombie who can only be attacked when he raises his head out of the water once he hits an obstacle. Your main goal is to protect Crazy Dave's precious mold colonies which are positioned in the first two rows from the left. We mean protect as in you can’t position any plants here, but the level is not over if a zombie happens to step on them. This requires you to position all of your plants on Lily Pads, as the stage is mostly flooded up until where the mold colonies are. The greatest difficulty about this level is that zombies happen to arrive in great numbers quite quickly. Moreover, there are four huge waves of zombies over the course of the stage.

Level 9 features many of the same old zombies - regular walking dead, Coneheads, Bucketheads, the occasional Imp Mermaid Zombies, and those pesky Snorkel Zombies. We recommend equipping yourself with Sunflowers, Lily Pads, Lightning Reeds, Snapdragons, Infi-nuts, and Tangle Kelps. We tried playing the level with Twin Sunflowers, but it didn’t work because we were attacked so quickly by the walking dead. Regular sunflowers work just fine in this level and allow you to quickly build your defenses. Focus on taking out the first few enemies with the Tangle Kelp and stall them with Infi-nuts while you collect enough sunlight to start building your entire row of Snapdragons.

Woop, tide has set in!

We found that if we smartly balanced taking out as many Snorkel Zombies with collecting sunlight and building our defenses, we could get by quite successfully. In the end, we had one entire row of Infi-nuts, one entire row of Snapdragons, one entire row of Lightning Reeds, and one entire row of Sunflowers (as seen on the screenshot above). Quick timing and precise strategy was of the essence however!
