Glory in death

(Innate): Sion has a 40% chance to ignore up to 30 / 40 / 50 damage each time he is hit by an autoattack. The damage reduction is calculated before armour and percentage damage reduction benefits are taken into account.

Tips :

A very interesting passive in the early game but that becomes invisible in mid/late game.


Decimating Smash (Q)

(Active): Sion's gaze terrifies a single enemy, dealing magic damage and stunning it for 1.5 seconds.

  • Cost: 100 mana
  • Range: 550
  • Projectile speed: 1600
Tips :

 

A very good stun that lasts for 1.5 seconds from level 1, making it a very interesting control!

It has a very good AP ratio that lets you do enormous damage to your target combined with your different spells. 


    Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 seconds

    Magic Damage: 70 / 125 / 180 / 240 / 300 (+0.9 per ability power)

Soul Furnace (W)

(Active): Sion surrounds himself with a shield which absorbs damage for up to 10 seconds. After 4 seconds, if the shield has not been destroyed, the ability can be cast again to explode and deal magic damage to surrounding enemies. It will explode automatically after the 10 seconds have passed.

  • Cooldown: 8 seconds after shield expires
  • Explosion area: 550
Tips :

 

This shield works in a particular way and has several uses.

You can use it to tank important damage (and the more AP you have, the more you will be protected) in the lane against your target or an enemy gank. It's also a very good way of slowing an escape and the shield can often save your life. 

The fact that your shield can be activated to explode and do damage makes it very interesting. In the lane phase you can push your lane easily by killing the sbires quickly with your shield, which has a very good AP ratio. 

It's also the base of your burst coupled with the stun, you will do a TON OF DAMAGE! But be careful, if your shield is destroyed then you won't be able to activate it to do damage, logically...


    Cost: 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 mana

    Shield Strength/Magic Damage: 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 (+0.9 per ability power)

Roar of the Slayer (E)

(Toggle): While active, each of Sion's autoattacks will deal extra physical damage at the cost of some health. Sion permanently increases his maximum health whenever he kills a unit with either his attacks or abilities.

    Tips :

     

    A very powerful passive as it increases your max HP for each unit killed. It's an excellent way to make you a bit more tanky, knowing that Sion farms very easily and quickly.

    It also increases your AD passively so that you can make last hits more easily in melee and, coupled with a brilliance, your damage will be multiplied!


      Health Gained: 1 / 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 / 3 per kill

       

      Cost: 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 / 14 health per attack

      Extra Physical Damage: 25 / 35 / 45 / 55 / 65

       

    Unstoppable Onslaught (R)

    (Active): Grants Sion lifesteal and 50% attack speed for 20 seconds. Additionally, Sion's autoattacks will heal surrounding allies for a percentage of the damage dealt.

    • Cost: 100 mana
    • Cooldown: 90 seconds
    • AoE Heal Radius: 200
    Tips :

    Not a very interesting ultimate for an AP build but it will be useful for the sustain it will give you in the lane and will also help your allies to regenerate a bit more in teamfights.


      Life Steal: 50 / 75 / 100 %

      Heal to Nearby Allies: 25 / 37.5 / 50 %

    Pros

    Sion has an enourmous burst thanks to his base combo Q + W

    He farms quickly whith his shield that lets him move to gank on other lanes

    He has enormous AP ratios (0.9 AP)

    His ultimate, although less interesting because it has no relation to the AP, gives him more sustain in the lane

    Cons

    He consumes a lot of mana in the early game

    All champions with DOT create problems for his shield (Cassio's poison, Malzahar's DoT etc.)

    In lategame he will be a lot less useful because his shield is quicky destroyed...
