Does Not Commute is brilliant as it is frustrating and proves that some people really have no idea how to drive. However, you will want to go as far as possible and help all the people that you get in the game reach their destination: and you will have to do it as fast as possible, which won’t be too easy. Add to that the fact that if you’re playing the free version of the game, you can’t even save your checkpoints and you have to play everything from start every time you run out of time, and you will have all the reasons to want some Does Not Commute cheats and tips to get as far as possible, as fast as possible.
This guide is good both for those playing the free version of the game, as well as the paid one, so read on for some hopefully helpful Does Not Commute tips and cheats!
1. Learn the routes and what’s coming
One of the easiest ways to ace the game is to know what to expect and how to drive. It’s easier if you have the paid version and more time consuming otherwise, but it’s doable: every time you get to a new area, drive as well as you can trying to remember the way you should drive to get to your destination as fast as possible. Then, when you reach the final driver, simply lose the game and restart from the checkpoint and ready to lose as little time as possible. The more time you have, the better for the upcoming stages.
2. Anticipate the difficulty of your cars
It’s pretty easy, actually, to know if you’re going to drive a fast vehicle or a slow one: larger cars are slower, while police cars and sports vehicles are faster. Always look at your vehicle to know what kind of speed you should be using.
3. It’s not all about speed
When I first started to play Does Not Commute, I always had my Turbo Boost on. Needless to say, frustration reached maximum levels. In this game it’s all about getting to the place you need to go as fast as possible, but that doesn’t mean using the Turbo Boost at all times. Look at the place that you need to reach, how many turns you need to take and how difficult they are, then decide if you should try for extra controls or leave the car as it is. Some really slow cars get insanely slow by using the transmission, so be wise when selecting your boost (if any – some missions can be easily completed without using a boost).
4. Use the rewinds carefully
Every time you use a rewind, you lose one second of your starting time. If you use that too often, it doesn’t make sense because you’re losing time: so even if you hit your car and it goes as slow as a slug, it might still be faster to complete this mission this way rather than restarting 4-5 times.
5. Take breaks
Chances are that no matter what you do, you will get extremely frustrated with the game and the more frustrated you are, the worse your in-game performance will be. So take breaks, cool off and get back to the game after several minutes of waiting, when you have a clear mind and can take on the missions easier.
And of course, if you want to make everything a lot easier, simply spend the money for the premium version: you won’t be able, probably, to get to the end by playing version with no checkpoints!
