What’s this? Another real time simulation game from Supercell? They’re smart enough to keep going with what definitely works for them, after the huge success of Clash of Clans, Supercell has released Boom Beach, a game very similar in most aspects but with a modernized spin to it for 2016, both the game interface and the tutorial are similar, so any players who have player Clash of Clans in the past should have no trouble immediately throwing themselves into the game.

Boom Beach takes place on an island; it is your job to keep other native islanders safe from the dreaded Blackguard bad guys. Whilst doing this, you are also developing your own island base where you must set up sniper towers and explosive mines to protect your own people from the Blackguard thugs. It can be pretty slow going at first, but you get into the swing of things fairly quickly. The aim of the game is to storm the beaches of recently enslaved island villages, destroy whatever defenses the bad guys have put up and recue the capture villager who are upset over various things that the Blackguard have done; enslaved them, kept them working without food for days and destroyed all of their holy idols.

Once you have freed the captured islands, you will get regular deliveries of gold transported to your island via a little boat that goes back and forth between your island and any other free islands. You begin the game with various buildings already built on your island; you will have; a Level 1 headquarters, a Level 1 sawmill that produces wood, a level 1 residence that produces gold. You will also have 1600 gold saved, 400 pieces of wood in your stores and 50 diamonds. As you progress through the game, you are able to add more storage options for your resources, more residences to make more gold and you can also upgrade any current buildings on your island.

Boom Beach has a variety of diamond packages available as an in app purchase, the packages can cost anywhere between $4.99 and $99.99 for various quantities starting from a 500 diamond package to a 14,000 diamond package
Boom Beach is currently running version 18.121.1 and is available to play in multiple languages. It requires your device to be running at least iOS 7.0 or later. It can be downloaded for free from the app store, with the option to purchase extra in app content. This game is currently rated four and a half stars and has generally favorable reviews from players.

Playing Boom Beach is a lot of fun but it can be a real hassle trying to build up the amount of diamonds, wood and coins you need.  There can be a lot of waiting time while buildings are being upgraded and you attack islands.  If you really want to advance in Boom Beach, you’re going to need a lot of resources.

That’s why we added the Boom Beach hack tool to our site.  This hack will allow you to add an unlimited amount of diamonds, coins, and wood directly to your Boom Beach account.  The hack tool works by accessing the Boom Beach servers and adding the resources to your account.  You don’t need a jailbroken or rooted device to use this hack tool, no surveys either!

2016 Boom Beach Cheats & Tips

Since Boom Beach is a server sided game, most hacks won’t work for unlimited money and diamonds, also there are no cheats available, setting the clock on your device ahead will trigger a notification saying your building is done, however, there will be no change in the actual time left when you go back into the game. Unfortunately we have to rely on old fashioned strategy and making what we have in game work for us.

Something I noticed whilst playing the game, especially when attacking other islands, you can make a decent amount of gold as a reward, so if you need that extra last bit of gold to buy a new building or whatever, don’t wait around for your low level residences to produce a few gold or your sailboats to deliver gold, you will make so much more gold freeing the islands, bear in mind, to see more of the map and explore further, you’ll need to keep upgrading your radar so you’re able to unlock more cloudy areas that are further away from your home island.

Since it can take a while to upgrade your buildings, the time you spend waiting can be better well spent by attacking the captured islands, you can make new troops whilst you are building or upgrading, so you can battle as much as you want whilst waiting. If you need extra wood, chop down one of the trees on your island for 600 gold and you’ll get 300 pieces of wood in return. Try to upgrade your buildings as soon as you can, especially your headquarters as it unlocks more buildings with each upgrade, if you start doing this at the beginning of the game, you can get to level 5 pretty quickly which is when the game starts to open up a whole lot more.

It’s always a good idea to go ahead and scout the island which you plan to attack, before you actually attack, that ways you can see whether you can defeat the islands defenses or whether all of your troops will be totally wiped out. Pay attention to your achievements and what you need to do to complete them, as completed achievements will reward you with diamonds, each achievement has three stars, you gain one every time you complete the requirements of the achievement, you gain different amounts of diamonds depending on which star you have filled, you get 10 diamonds for the first star, 20 diamonds for the second star and 30 diamonds for the third star.

Boom Beach Review

Whilst I didn’t like this game all that much when I first started playing it, it really grew on me and became fun pretty quickly. I really liked the fact that when I was exploring the map and uncovering new places, sometimes when I would get rid of a cloud, there would be a chest of gems, it is unusual so see a freemium game in 2016 giving away their premium currency away so freely, but I think it’s definitely a great way of encouraging players to carry on playing.

I also really like the fact that as you progress in the game and start challenging more islands, they steadily get more difficult, rather than getting very suddenly difficult like a lot of games do, it presents a great challenge, but not in a way that makes it impossible to defeat, because you are also actively developing your troops and way of attack.

The very beginning of the game is outrageously slow as once the tutorial is over, you are left not quite knowing exactly what to do and how to proceed, there are no specific missions that you have to fulfill, the only indication of how you ought to proceed is the achievement list, where the majority of what is there is impossible to complete in the very beginning. I also really don’t like the fact that I could only build one building or upgrade one building at a time I don’t know whether this changes further into the game, but it is incredibly inconvenient when I have the gold or wood for something but I can’t do it because I’m already upgrading my gunboat .

The character design is terrible in this game, all of the little villagers on your island are all just clones of one another, and the girl that shows up to say something when you defeat the Blackguard on the islands is the same girl every time (weirdly enough, she looks strangely like Kida from Disney’s Atlantis movie), just how many times has this girl been captured? Is she really that bad at hiding? You’d think she would have learned her lesson the first time, either that or we have a Nurse Joy situation going on in this game, and they’re all identical sisters or cousins or something.

I feel like they have a lot to do to make this game better, they need to work on their non-playable characters for 2016, possibly incorporate the villagers on your island helping with building, the more villagers you have, the more buildings you can construct at a time, possibly reduce the build times too.

Ratings:

Artwork: I give Boom Beach a 7/10 for its artwork. Whilst the general artwork is visually appealing, it’s disappointing that they haven’t really done much beyond the general island theme, it’s also disappointing that they haven’t chosen to be a little more artistic with their character design, all of the little villagers all look the same and they’re all men and we all know that all male island colonies NEVER work out.

Music and SFX: I give the game an 8/10 for its music and SFX. The music on the island is actually quite calming to listen to especially after a crushing defeat and you’re mad at the injustice of it all, couple that with the sound of the crashing waves in the background and I have a perfect piece of naptime music.

Story and Originality: I give the game a 6/10 for its story and originality. Boom Beach definitely has an interesting little story behind it; its originality is questionable though, considering that it is essentially just a modernized clone of one of the developer’s earlier games.

General Gameplay: I give the game an 8/10 for its general gameplay. Whilst it is slightly difficult to figure out what you’re supposed to do in the beginning, you quickly pick up on the groove of the gameplay and you develop a personal routine.

Addictiveness: I give the game a 7/10 for its addictiveness. Because of the amount to do on this game, you can quickly get addicted for quite a while, the only reason I stopped playing for the day was the fact that I had a long upgrade and the last island I had to save was one that I kept getting defeated on and just couldn’t seem to beat. I’m pretty sure that this is definitely a game I’ll be playing for a while.

My overall rating for Boom Beach in 2016 is 7/10.
