It seems that Gameloft has done it again. Another hit game has been released from the development company, this time; we’re exploring the sinful city itself, Las Vegas.
Gangstar Vegas is essentially just Grand Theft Auto, it show a great deal of similarities from the way the missions are presented to the dialog within the game. Whilst the game doesn’t really add much new stuff in comparison to previous Gangstar games in the series, it’s definitely presents a much smoother game.
Staring the game, you are playing as Jason Malone, a popular boxer who has been paid off to throw a fight, somehow, you end up accidentally winning the fight, despite not meaning to win, and you’ve just become the enemy of the powerful mobster Frank Valieno. During this scene, you are introduced to the fighting system within the game.
The tutorial shows you the basics of the game whilst also telling the story of how you manage to escape with your life after hit has been taken out on you. The general gameplay is pretty simple, to drive your car, you tilt you device from side to side to steer. The game has a full cast of exceptional voice actors; for the most part anyway, the person who voices Jason doesn’t really seem to get into the role at times.
Actually controlling the character of Jason can be pretty sucky at times; it definitely required a lot of getting used to on my part. The sensitivity of the game is an absolute pain, especially when you’re trying to run, instead of going where you want to go, you somehow end up running into walls. Driving probably work a little better than running and walking, so that’s probably my preferred method of travelling in this game, it does still manage to be pretty sloppy unfortunately, at times, the car will suddenly develop a mind of its own and start drifting off in the opposite direction you’re actually driving.
Currently, Gangstar Vegas is running version 1.7.1 and requires your device to be running at least iOS version 6.0 or later. The game is available in a variety of languages, so gamers all over the world should be able to enjoy the game. With games like this, bugs and glitches are to be expected, if you do encounter anything whilst playing, I would suggest that you report your problems to the developers by Facebook, email, twitter or even from within the game. Reporting the problems ensures that the developers are aware of the problem and are more likely to fix the issue. The game is available to download from the app store for free along with the option to purchase further in app content. The game currently holds a four star rating on the app store and has received mostly good reviews from players and critics alike.
There are a variety of diamond packages available to purchase in the game. For a forty diamond package it will cost you $1.99, for a one hundred and ten diamond package it will cost you $4.99, for a two hundred and thirty diamond package it will cost you $9.99, for a four hundred and eighty diamond package it will cost you $19.99, for a one thousand three hundred package of diamonds it will cost you $49.99 and for a two thousand eight hundred package of diamonds it will cost you $99.99. You can use your diamonds for a variety of things such as buying packages of cash, buying keys, and even purchasing special upgrades that you can use in game. You can also purchase special upgrade bundles for real money.
While playing Gangstar Vegas, you’ll probably find yourself needing more cash to purchase items. Keys and SP are also important resources to have while exploring the Vegas underworld. You can save up your cash over time or exchange your real money for cash in the game.
If you don’t want to spend money buying in-game resources, then you need a hack. The hack tool for Gangstar Vegas allows you to add unlimited cash, keys, and SP to your account for free. It’s easy to use the Gangstar Vegas hack and it works for both Android and iOS devices.
You can download the Gangstar Vegas hack tool here at AppGameCheats. Once you download the tool, you’ll see a menu like the one pictured here. Follow the instructions listed to complete the hack process.
The Gangstar Vegas hack will install automatically onto your phone or tablet after you download it. Choose the type of device you are using to play the game, either Android or iOS. Now type in the amount of cash, keys, and SP you want to add to your account.
After you’ve filled out the information needed, tap the “Start” button to begin the hack. The Gangstar Vegas tool will let you know when the hack process is complete. Open your Gangstar Vegas app and you’ll see that the cash, keys, and SP have been added. Continue your Vegas takeover with an infinite supply of cash, keys, and SP!
Fortunately if you’re the cheating type, there are working hacks available for this game, unfortunately most of them require a jail broken device so if you’ve not jail broken, you may be out of luck. I personally wouldn’t blame you if you chose to cheat at the game considering how difficult it can be to actually get around. The majority of hacks available can provide you with infinite cash, diamonds, keys, SP and ammo, so it’s definitely work a try.
If you actually want to play this game legitimately, you can try out these tips I’ve come up with whilst trying to play the game.
First up, do yourself a favor and try not to lose any missions. Ganstar Vegas is a fairly easy game in itself once you can get past the difficult steering/walking. SO the best thing you can do for yourself if you know you’re about to start a pretty difficult mission is to really stock up on med kits, so you sure that you won’t die in the middle of your mission. Sure, this can get pretty pricey, but it’s nothing compared to the rewards you’ll get if you complete the mission.
Remember that if you’re about to start a new mission, you don’t actually have to travel to the mission location yourself, to save time, you can just fast travel there, to do this all you need to do is to open up your map, hit the icon for the mission you want to do and tap select to start it. By doing this, you won’t end up wasting precious time and effort driving around the city and ending up totally lost.
For the most part, you won’t actually need to use cover, you may want to every once in a while, but in reality, the game isn’t really all that hard and it should warrant use of cover even at its most difficult points. Usually the run and gun approach is the best idea. If you get low on health, just hit yourself up with a med kit or slap on some armor, this is likely to help you survive through the rough patches. To be honest, the cover system isn’t really designed to be all that good, so you’ll probably struggle with it even if you do decide to utilize it. So really, your best option is to only use it when absolutely necessary.
When you’re buying weapons, make sure you get yourself the very best. Instead of waiting around to see if you’ll merely come across a powerful weapon as a drop, you should just buy one as early as you can afford one, this give you the advantage right from the very beginning of the game. Your missions will go by way easier if you’ve got yourself a badass assault rifle, no more having to rely on the useless little uzis and pistols, nope, ‘cause you’re playing in the big league here. As a plus, you’ll also be able to mainly focus on you skills with higher class weapons instead of ones that you realistically won’t even be using for all that long.
On the odd occasion, you may receive keys on your missions, but really, this doesn’t actually happen all that often, so they have to be purchased with diamonds form the shop or won by gambling in the Vegas casinos. By using keys, you’ll be able to unlock special chests that can contain really rare and special items, so if you find yourself coming across a key, I highly encourage you to use one as the benefit can be huge with these special items. They aren’t exactly the difference between your success or your failure, so I wouldn’t advise blowing any real money diamonds just to buy keys.
The game is definitely well designed, graphic wise, I’ll give it that, all of the characters faces are unique and there is quite a lot of in depth detail.
When it comes to the level of content in the game, it definitely does not let you down, no matter what, there is always something to do in the game, there are plenty of missions that contribute to the actual storyline of the game and there are also the optional missions that you can just do for fun or for the extra cash.
Gunplay in the game is mostly straight forward, you just tap where you want to shoot and fire your gun. Really, it’s that simple. Then again, there isn’t much that is overly challenging in this game. Everything that you do in the game that could be considered to be a criminal act is counted up, if you reach a certain number of crimes, you’ll a badge icon which notifies you that the cops are now after you. If you have one star, you’ll have the minimal number of one or two cops chasing after you, but as you gain more notoriety and more stars, the cops become more aggressive in attempting to catch you. If you manage to reach five stars, your notoriety is at its highest, at which point you will be pursued by the army, SWAT as well as the cops.
Don’t worry if you find yourself dead after all of this, because you can get resurrected in exchange for some of your cash.
The strange fact about this game is that sure, the cops will become interested in you once you’ve gained a star, but they’ll never actually just arrest you. I’m unsure whether this is a glitch or bug or not, but mostly of the time, if you get caught straight away and you don’t fight back, you’ll end up getting beaten to death anyway. The AI in Gangstar Vegas does not appear to be all that smart, it will occasionally somehow manage to get itself stuck behind things and making completing certain mission impossible. Your fellow drivers on the road will also sometimes develop the tendency to complete stop moving, decide to go haywire and end up ramming themselves into telephone pole, or in some instance, they’ll even completely drive off the road. The AI definitely has a lot of room for improvement if you ask me.
As you progress through the game, you’ll gain experience and your character will level up. Every time you hit a new level, you’ll obtain special skill points that you can use on upgrades, of which there are many. With upgrading, you can improve a variety of things such as your clip size, increasing your damage capabilities; reduce the time it takes to reload your weapon, increasing your resistance to damage and even increasing the number of health packs that you are able to actually carry. Because of the amount of choice you have in terms of upgradeable options, Gangstar Vegas seems to show a pretty high level of customization in it.
By completing your assigned missions and killing various people, you’ll encounter random item drops, which are usually items that can be used in order to customize yourself. For example, if you take out an innocent old lady, you may receive the drop Shave Cut number 2, which can be used to change your hairstyle.
Gangstar Vegas clearly has a lot of potential in it; it offers a great deal of variety and is filled with things to do to keep you entertained for long periods of time. The spoken dialogue of AI characters is mostly hilarious, especially the special news reports that you’ll hear over the radio whilst driving. Racing offers the idea of competition that so many gamers thrive upon. The bugs and glitches can be seriously annoying, but they shouldn’t really deter you from enjoying the game as a whole.
Artwork: I give Gangstar Vegas an 8/10 for its artwork. The game itself looks fairly pretty, but it isn’t exactly graphically awesome. It leaves quite a lot to be desired in my opinion. I do applaud the fact that each characters face is different, so it has completely unique people scattered throughout the game. It’s full of color and flashing light so it definitely give off a fairly accurate picture of what Vegas may look like, but I think it could look so much better.
Music and SFX: I give the game an 8/10 for music and SFX. This would have been higher if the sound effects of the game weren’t so cheesy. It’s like the majority of the sound were just ripped off from every other driving game/grand theft auto game ever to have existed. Everything was overly generic and didn’t really offer anything special. I did like the music of the game though and how it would change depending on your situation. The radio stations that would come on whilst driving would always be interesting and humorous when people were speaking.
Story and Originality: I give the game a 4/10 for its story and originality. Now I’ll admit the story in the beginning of the game was pretty good, it definitely had be interested. I just wish the entire concept of the game had been a little more original, because really, playing the game just felt like I was playing a crappier version of grand theft auto. The story definitely gave a nice sense of flow, it was just a shame that there wasn’t much new content to add to the genre. I strongly believe that if you aren’t actually contributing anything new to a genre and you’re just ripping off other people’s ideas, you are doing a disservice you your fellow developers. If you’ve nothing new to offer, it isn’t likely that you’re going to get much success.
General Gameplay: I give the game a 3/10 for its general gameplay. This game had so much potential to be good, but instead, it is just riddled with bugs, constant freezes and complete shut downs. The fact that these issues haven’t been addressed after several updates does not tell me anything good about the people that have made the game. Personally, to me, it just feels like they’re trying to make it big in the car chase genre and failing miserably, at least they deserve to fail miserably. The game itself is so unplayable that I played a very minimal amount of the game before it just froze and kicked me off.
Addictiveness: I give the game a 3/10 for its addictiveness. The fact that there are so many issues with even trying to playing this game is a major turn off with me. My inability to play the game properly deterred me from giving the game a proper chance to really get into the flow of the game. I feel like this could have been a good game, I only hope that the problems I’ve talked about will be resolved in future updates. But right now, this isn’t a game I plan on keeping.
Overall, I rate Gangstar Vegas 5/10.You guys still have a long way to go before this will be considered a good game in my book.
