Final Fantasy Record Keeper Preview

Final Fantasy Record Keeper currently has not been released in the United States, although it will be released sometime in the spring. It has however, launched in Japan and just soft launched in Canada, which means the United States should be seeing the game within the next month or two. If you pre-register for the game online, you will have access to special bonus items, which will be given to you when the game is officially launched. Although the game has not been released, there is quite a bit we already know about the game already, so here is a preview of what Final Fantasy Record Keeper is all about.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper will be available on iOS and Android devices for free, and the game is all about taking the various characters from the Final Fantasy series of games, and then having you create a group to fight them all. If you really enjoyed the old style Final Fantasy attacks and characters, then you will love this game because it’s almost like a throwback to the original first few games of the series, and it focuses more on the 2D turn-based types of commands.

Concept

In Final Fantasy Record Keeper, you are playing the part of an apprentice who is in a facility that is almost like a Final Fantasy library or archiving room. You will then be thrown into a tapestry where you are given the mission to complete various reenactments of the history of the Final Fantasy series, which is why big fans of the original games will enjoy going back in time and reliving the old school characters and attack styles. You will be able to unlock various characters and activities from the older games as you move along the adventure, including memorable moments from Final Fantasy XII.

Each of the tapestry events you go through will contain at least one boss that you will have to defeat, with each of the tapestries being a different part of the series or like a new chapter in the huge book known as Final Fantasy. In each of these chapters, you will have to do battle a certain number of rounds or times before you can move onto the next chapter, which can get a little monotonous after a while, especially if it’s the same characters in battle each time. Another part about this is that your stamina bar will become smaller and smaller, so you might have a hard time making it through the entire combat without needing to wait a period of time for the bar to fill back up again. This means that either you wait however long for the bar to fill up or you purchase the stamina replenishing potions, which can require in-game currency or real currency to purchase, and that can get expensive.

The Final Fantasy Record Keeper game focuses on the Active Time Battle combat system, which means you will have meters on your main screen that are for things like stamina and health, over time these bars will become depleted, especially when you are in an active combat situation. There is also a limit to the number of abilities you can have, with each ability also requiring the meter to let you know when it’s running low, and you will need to keep replenishing these as you progress in the game. When you first start battle in this game, you will find out that it’s really easy and the combat is super simple, so that means it’s a good way to get the hang of the Active Time Battle system. If you have been playing Final Fantasy since the old days, you will recognize the system, and then be aware of the progression of difficulty as you move forward. Overall this is a game that will bring back a lot of memories, although it’s not a new game at all, it is primarily one of those games you play for nostalgia purposes, and you will really enjoy the classic feel of this game.
