Review of LEGO City My City

One bad part about LEGO City My City is that you are put into the game immediately, without any tutorial or descriptions on what to do. If you have never played any LEGO game before, you will be completely lost as to what you are supposed to do or what the various symbols on the maps mean. This is pretty bad because it makes it hard to know what the goal or objective of the game is. Basically, this entire game is built on a bunch of mini games that have to deal with various departments of the LEGO world. You have the police, postal service, fire department, roadside recovery, and coast guard in this game. There is also a new racing circuit that was made just for this game, so in terms of who this game is aimed at, it’s pretty obvious that anyone under 11 would have fun with this game.

Once you get into one of the departments, you will have to pass a series of levels to move onto the next, with each one starting off with a film of what is going on around you. This helps you figure out what the goal is and where the game is taking place, and it also provides good graphics that would be entertaining for the younger children playing the game. One thing about the mini films in the games is that since you have to repeat the levels over 3 times to move on, you end up watching the same film over and over. While the films are different for the various departments such as fire and coast guard, watching the film for that specific department more than twice can get a little annoying. The repetitiveness of the film and having to play the level over a few times to move on is a bit much, although the graphics at least are really impressive. You can also chase bad guys and put them in jail too, so there is so much range and variety in this game, with new additions coming all of the time.

As you move through this game, you will find out that the levels get even harder, so that means you really need to pay attention as you will end up failing the level if you aren’t looking at the screen the whole time. For a child, this might be a harder task, but if you are an adult and playing this game, you should have no problems being able to pay attention for a couple minutes. The gameplay throughout the game is fun and there is a lot of variety in terms of gameplay, and you can collect studs along the way. If you are getting into the racing circuit you will have a lot of fun doing that because you can race on your motorbike and end up taking down buildings with the wrecking ball. The racing is the most fun if you are older, because there are a lot of vehicles to choose from and you will really love the track designs in the game.

Overall, this is one of those games that really needed some explaining at first to understand, especially if you have never played LEGO games before or know what the LEGO world is about. Once you get used to it and get used to playing levels 3 times to move on, you will really enjoy yourself. The graphics and the sounds in this game are fun, and the whole game is very fluid and runs smoothly. You will find yourself getting sucked into the world of LEGO, and the simple controls make this game great for young kids or adults who want to play something without needing to think too much.

The game transitions smoothly, without any lags or connection issues, and you will really love the detail in the graphics and design of the city. Gameplay gets a 9/10 because as you move through the game it get’s a little harder, and this makes it challenging without being too much for someone who has no clue what they are doing. You might download this thinking it is a mindless game, but the level of concentration and strategy needed as you progress in the game makes it fun and exciting for people of all ages.

Music: The sounds and music in this game is really fun, with it being aimed at kids it’s nice to hear upbeat and positive music. There is a whole lot of music in the game, and the sounds from the mini films are nice and very interesting, with a lot of detail and design. The music in this game, as well as animation gets an 8/10.

Graphics: The graphics of LEGO City My City are really good, especially for a game aimed at the younger kids, so it gets a 9/10. You will love the various levels and challenges that you do in this game, with a lot of variety in the mini games, and the map even looks really good. You will find yourself thinking how great the mini films are that are played after each level of a specific game, and you will get lost in the LEGO world.

Overall: Overall this is a perfect games for kids because it’s exciting and fun, yet simple with a progressively harder strategy involved. Really young kids might not be able to get the hang of the harder levels, but any child over 8 could figure them out without trouble. You have simple controls that tell you how to play the game in the level, with movies rolling and great graphics to keep you entertained. This game is almost like a mash-up combination of other LEGO games, like an appetizer to get you to want to download the other LEGO games, and it works perfectly. A very fun game for the kids and adults too, so it earns a 9/10 overall because it’s graphically appealing and entertaining.
