Brought to you by Electronic Arts Inc., Bejeweled Blitz is supported by both Phone and Tablet devices. You can find the game on iOS and Android. Winner of the 2013 Google Player’s Choice Reward, Bejeweled Blitz is still in action. Detonate as many gems as you can within the 60 second time limit to score the highest you can and compete with Facebook friends. Match three or more jewels in a line in order to score points as well as use special gems like the Flame Gems, Star Gems, and Hypercubes. To further increase your score, add up to three boosts and use rare gems to send your score to the weekly top scoreboard. Rated at ⅘ stars on Google Play, this game is addictive on some conditions that will be later discussed in this review.
The Goal of Bejeweled Blitz is to get as high on the weekly leaderboard as possible. By using power-ups and good combos, you try to obtain the best score possible in the 60 seconds and get on the scoreboard. Another goal of Bejeweled Blitz is to compete with your friends on Facebook and try to get a higher score than your friends. This provides a friendly competition in a fast-paced game to determine who’s truly better at the game.
After downloading the app, simply sign up using Facebook to allow you to connect to friends as quickly as possible and challenge friends who stand in your way of being number one. Bejeweled Blitz is free to play but there are power-ups and gems that you may buy for a price on the App Store.
The start of Bejeweled Blitz is rather simple. Bejeweled Blitz gives the player a quick and easy tutorial to help learn Bejeweled Blitz. Then, the rest is up to you to find the combos and score the points. Once you start a round, a screen full of different shapes and colors will appear on the screen. Tap and hold onto one tile and swipe across to a tile next to it in order to make the jewels swap places. If the jewels do not provide any kind of combo for points, the tiles are swapped back and you’re forced to choose a different set of tiles to switch. Continuously create combos and you will destroy the combo that the tiles were used to form that combo and new tiles will appear in its place. Using power-ups will help increase the number of combos that you can make my blowing up tiles in a certain area, or creating a condition where it’s simply easier to string combos together.
The most popular methods, Detonators, Scramblers, and Multipliers are used to increase your score most efficiently.
Detonators – Blow up a designated couple of blocks in order to drop more blocks in the place of them to create more combos
Scramblers – Mixes up the tiles in hope of randomly scoring more combos to add to the multiplier.
Multipliers – Increases your score by a multiplier that increases from 1x, meaning that you get 1x for as many points as the combo gets you and 2x gets the twice the amount that you would normally get. This is the most important one because it’ll score you the most points. Combining two or more is real important.
Bejeweled Blitz is a matching puzzle game where you have to match gems up in order to clear the board. There are a lot of special gems and boosters that you can purchase in the game to help you out, but you don’t want to spend real money buying diamonds and coins to beat the levels. You can download AppGameCheats free hack generator right now, which gives you unlimited amounts of coins and diamonds without you spending real money.
As you see in the picture below, the interface is very simple, which allows you to just type in the amounts of coins and diamonds you want to add to your Bejeweled Blitz account.
Once you start downloading the Bejeweled Blitz generator, it will complete it about one minute or less, and then it will begin to automatically install. Once the installation is complete, you just need to go through and select either iOS or Android. You will then be able to input the amounts of coins and diamonds that you want to add to your account, all completely for free.
Hit the “Start” button and the Bejeweled Blitz hack tool will begin working, which also should take under one minute to complete. You can then open up the Bejeweled Blitz game on your device, and the amounts of coins and diamonds you selected will be waiting on you to use. It really is that simple! This will allow you to get as many boosters and gem blasters as you need to complete the levels of the game without worrying about getting stuck on a level because you don’t have the right gems to help you out!
Use detonators, scramblers, and multipliers to increase your score. Work with them to get as many combos as possible
Getting a streak of combos in one switch will grant you the most points. A general trend that you find in the best rounds is when you get the most combos in one swap.
Create chains of 4 gems to give yourself special gems that detonate the gems around it. Do not detonate these right away because you want to try and save them as long as possible. By doing so, you’ll receive a large burst of gems that multiply your score by extreme amounts.
There are two bonuses to get a super high score. First, is the speed bonus that will be determined by how fast you swipe gems from side to side. As you swipe gem, you’ll keep on receiving the gem score. If you go slower, however, you will lose that bonus. As a good “Bejeweled cheat” to remember, go fast!
Boosts are to be used as little a possible. Boosts cost real money after you’ve used the starter ones up. The most effective boosts are +5 seconds, Scrambler, and Bonus Multiplier (allows you to start with a bonus multiplier on the board). Increasing the time by five seconds is significant when there are only 60 seconds to play with in the entire game. The Scrambler can be used when you’ve just run out of combos that you see immediately on the board. You can’t be wasting time trying to find combos! Bonus Multipliers is getting you the ability to start multiplying your score earlier, hence more points.
Remember to use your daily spins. As a good cheat, if you don’t want to play that day, still log into the app and use the daily spin. Spins give you coins which can be used to purchase boosts, bonus gems, and other special items.
Selecting the right special items and rare gems are both also extremely important in your success in Bejeweled Blitz. The most helpful two items that help achieve high scores are the cat’s eye and the phoenix prism. The cat’s eye works by blowing off a bunch of pieces off the board and if you’re at an 8x multiplier and have a speed bonus, this item will give you a ton of score. The phoenix prism gems allow you to match them with any two gems of any color in order to create a chain reaction that clears all pieces across the board diagonally. I highly recommend that you read these instructions carefully because placement is key when using this item.
This game has very nice graphics but lacks any kind of ability to communicate with others, which I feel is one of the most important aspects of any addicting game. If you want a game to be addicting, you have to be able to scale yourself against people that you can see progress, instead of seeing someone so many points in score above you, and don’t know how they did it or whether they cheated or not. If you don’t have any Facebook friends willing to join in on the competition, it can also feel boring. The boringness is from the same concept as what I had said before about needing to communicate and kind of brag about the game to someone else. If the game provided more “contact” with the outside world, this game would be extremely more addicting than it already is.
The graphics aspect of this game is very good. The explosions and sounds it makes during combos or with boosts are very nice and very colorful. It’s what you would expect out of a good game like Bejeweled Blitz.
Advertisements after rounds are at an understandable rate. They are not too excessive with ads occurring after every round. While I do think that this game could be addicting to some, it definitely did not resonate with me because it was simply repetitive and I wasn’t proud of myself for a high score or anything of that sort.
A common complaint of this game is that the interface often bugs out and coins are lost or parts of the game cannot be seen. These problems should be solvable through updates and patches by the producer. It is definitely concerning that the producer has not addressed a majority of these issues. Another common complaint is that the game is too draining on your phone’s battery. With high graphics and sounds, it’s not surprising that the game could be a large drain of battery.
Artwork: 9/10 The artwork is simply a masterpiece when compared to other app games. The jewels sparkle and the shapes have a nice 3-D shape to them. The combo messages and explosions are also very nice showing of art.
Music & SFX: 7/10 The classic sounds of getting a four combo or getting an explosion. It’s all of what you would expect out of a game like this, but the music is still good and you’re allowed to listen to your own music while playing, which is definitely a large bonus of playing this game over other games.
Story & Originality: 5/10 This seemed very Candy Crush-esque except less adventure based. I think that this game needed to be a bit of a mix-up from Candy Crush. Perhaps going through a maze of some sort while completing designated scores would be a good addition. There is no storyline to follow in this game like how Flappy Bird was just play after play trying to get the highest score. There’s no end goal, just getting to the highest score you possibly can.
General Gameplay: 7/10 This is another swap game app so I cannot complain about the general gameplay as it is different for different people. Some people like these games and some people despise them. It’s not different than what you’d see in Candy Crush. Move a tile to one side, get a combo or two and continue. There is a difference between the games, however. This game provides a lot more power-ups and is much more intense and exciting than Candy Crush.
Addictiveness: 3/10 In terms of addictiveness, what point is there except to beat your own high score or play against Facebook Friends? The only reason that I give it a 3 instead of a 1 is because it connects to Facebook and if you have Facebook Friends you can play against, I can see this being a fun activity to compare yourself and your friends. This game simply does not resonate with the games that I play so I might not be a fair judge of this game. It seems too much like a non-adventure type of Candy Crush for it to be enticing to play. Because Bejeweled Blitz is a game of getting the highest score possible, it can get boring after a while. For those reasons, I give it a 3.
Overall, I rate Bejeweled Blitz a 7/10 because its graphics are better than a significant amount of other games.
