Each game lasts for around 60 seconds and you will have 5 clovers, or 5 lives. You have to be fast about attacking the monsters because they can change the color of the blocks at any time. One clover will be restored every 12 minutes. You can also buy or summon more animals in the shop to help you tackle the Monsters. In the animal shop, you can choose from a range of variety of animals such as a Rhino, Tiger, a Fox and more. You can summon these animals with your in game currency, cherries, or you can also use gems/diamonds for premium summons. For normal summons, they cost 6000 cherries, and for Premium summons, they cost 20 gems/diamonds.
When connecting blocks together, each block has its special attack value and you can upgrade it using cherries. The minimum amount of blocks you need to connect it together is 3, and it can go up to as much as 8 blocks! When you connect more than 8 blocks, they are called a “super bomb”. Bombs are separated into two different categories, the first one is called a fire bomb and the second is an powerful super bomb. Basically, the fire bomb eliminates blocks that are aligned vertically, horizontally, and diagonally. The second bomb, powerful super bomb, will destroy a wide radius of the blocks. Furthermore, when you summon an animal to help you, they will become an “animal block” in the game. These animal blocks have a higher attack value ranging from 600 to 3,000 pts. They can only be used when you position it at the bottom of the blocks. LINE Pokopang gives you one slot for animal blocks, but you can use gems to buy 2 more slots, you can have up to 3 animal blocks.
In the item shop, you also have the choice of purchasing a wide variety of game bonuses to help you! Some popular items are the Rainbow Bomb, Extra Time, and Delete 1 Color. I really enjoyed this game! I love how cute yet simple the graphics was. LINE has never disappointed me, and I love how you can get 1,000 cherries when you invite a friend! The friend doesn’t even have to play the game or accept the invitation either. In the past, in order to play LINE Games, you would have to login with LINE, it was mandatory. For LINE Pokopang, you have the option of playing as a Guest or with your LINE account. This game is a great time killer for people going to work or school, or they have free time on their hands. I love how I can just use my finger to connect the blocks, this is different than any other puzzle block games I’ve played before. The unique design, such as the hexagon grid, gives me a different vibe as it isn’t as traditional as other puzzle games.
My biggest pleasure from playing this game is the challenges it puts me through. Beating the monsters with a lot of HP, with less than 60 seconds is hard and it forces you to think especially if you don’t want to spend cherries or money on gems. The good thing about LINE Pokopang is that there are unlimited resources for you to get help. You can get help from your friends, or even add random people to get cherries and help yourself! Since 1 clover takes 12 minutes to revive, that means LINE Pokopang takes 1 hour for you to take a break and relax.
Artwork: The artwork I will give a rating of 8/10. I don’t particularly like the design of Boni and his family, but I do love LINE Pokopang’s interface! The game design is smooth looking, children and adult friendly, bright colors, and amazing animation. During each season or major holiday, they also change the design and pictures of the game. It is really lovely to not see the same old game design of one game every day!
Music & SFX: 7/10 for Music & SFX, I really like the music and SFX, but I would prefer if they would change it after each major episode completion. Reason being is, it gets a bit tiring listening to the same old music and sfx each time you play.
Story & Originality: 7/10 for Story and Originality because I’ve seen other games featuring defeating monsters and what not. However, the special part of LINE Pokopang is the hexagon grid and also the ability to just draw the blocks out instead of swiping them. It makes it more interactive and fun this way.
General Gameplay: The general gameplay for LINE Pokopang is 8/10, given 60 seconds for each level and having to think fast and move fast, I think this is a great game for all ages. This game challenges the mind and also makes it fun at the same time. LINE Pokopang doesn’t force users with extremely hard levels in order to pressure them to buy in app purchases to move onto the next level.
Addictiveness: 8/10 for addictiveness because honestly besides clearing the blocks, you also need to destroy the monster. You need to keep your mind on two things of the game, while the monster also has the ability to change any block to another color. This could be a gift or mess you up, and it will keep you on edge on your seat. It’s a really nice addition to any puzzle block game, in my opinion.
Overall Rating for LINE Pokopang is 8/10! Play it for the unique hexagon grid, battling monsters, and challenging your friends!
