For those who love fishing and don’t want to take the time out of their day to sit around and wait then this game may be for you. Gone Fishing: Trophy Catch, played on my Nexus 5, is a fishing simulator that gets the core ideas of a day on the lake done well without the heavy waiting periods. With millions of downloads on iOS and Android Gone Fishing: Trophy Catch must be doing something quite well and that is shown within the gameplay. The wide variety the game offers keeps everything fresh and might not get as stale as you may imagine a fishing simulator to get at times.
Just as you would imagine, you start off by casting into the lake or whatever body of water you’re on. There will be a small button at the bottom right that indicates once you have a fish on the line and that alongside the vibrations that come from the game make it quite difficult to miss a fish so long as you’re paying attention. Once the fish is on the hook and you press the button to reel it in then you will enter a quick time event of sorts on the left side of your screen. A cartoon like fish will appear on a line and you have to hover over it in order to catch the fish at the end. Doing this is their way to simulate reeling in the fish all the way and getting it onto the boat. The small minigame starts off easier as the fish are smaller but they tend to get a bit harder as the fish become bigger and more valuable. After it has finished then you’ll be sent to a screen where you see the weight and have the option to sell the fish to make a bit of extra money. The game allows you to share anything you deem worth looking at to Facebook for friends to see. This little event makes the game a bit more interesting and makes it so the game isn’t simply you casting and reeling in fish without any sort of challenge.
A game in which you catch the same fish over and over without any sort of variance would be a bit boring and they clearly took that into account with this game. With over 80 different types of fish to catch you can almost ensure yourself that there will always be something new for you to do in the game. Each fish that you want to catch has its own preferences and different locations and baits will allow you to catch them with ease. The different baits are very important to use in the game and it isn’t something that you should just overlook. Without the proper bait you can’t really catch any of the fish that you want to – well it makes it a bit more difficult to. There are 24 different types of bait for you to buy and use within the game in order to catch all of the species of fish.
There are 16 different locations for you to explore the wildlife and figure out which lakes have what fish in them. They keep the game interesting and let you find bigger and different fish over and over. Each location is well made and they don’t just copy and paste the same thing with different fish in them. In these new locations you can use you new fishing rods, bait, and even lures that are available for purchase in the shop. You have plenty of chances to earn money and upgrade your fishing rod or even decide to try out a new bait to catch that elusive fish you’ve wanted for so long.
The fish in the game, along with almost everything in the game, looks quite realistic when it comes to a mobile game. The fish are detailed well and while it does have some aspects of it that are a bit less serious the game holds up and seems like a good simulator. The locations are properly done and don’t seem like they were rushed or just done with very little detail in mind. The game’s UI is handled well and there isn’t a lot of clutter on the screen while you’re trying to play the game and enjoy the pleasant graphics it has to offer.
Gone Fishing: Trophy Catch is a really fun fishing simulation game, which really is addictive and enjoyable. You might have noticed though that you need silver and gold to upgrade items in this game and get new items to help you fish, but these cost real money to buy in the app store. While it might seem like a good idea to get silver and gold in the app store or through the in-game option, these items cost real money, and that really can add up quickly. We have decided to add Gone Fishing: Trophy Catch to our hack database, which means you can get unlimited amounts of gold and silver for free.
If you take a look at the picture below, you will notice that the options menu for the hack tool is really simple to use and you can just enter the amounts of silver and gold that you want.
All you need to do is download the Gone Fishing: Trophy Catch hack tool right here on our website, and it takes about 30 seconds to download. You will notice that it automatically installs after the download, and this takes about 20 seconds. Then, you will need to choose which device you are using, either Android or iOS, and then just enter how much silver and gold you want to have on your gaming account.
After that, just tap “Start” to begin the generator tool once you are ready, which takes less than 1 minute to complete. Once the tool has finished working, all you have to do is open up the app on your device, and you will see that the silver and gold have been added to your account. You can then use these items to help you through the game, and you can use this as many times as you want to so that you never have to buy anything from the app store again.
Check the wiki for some conversations about different locations and strategies. This game has a decently active wiki that people ask questions and discuss what bait or rod may be the best for a certain place/fish. Basically just start buying the different baits and rods to make sure that when you come to a different location that you’ll have an easier time trying to catch the fish you want. Hoarding your money and spending it on nothing will do exactly that for you, nothing. It only comes in handy to save money once you’ve bought a few things and are ready to save up for a larger purchase like a new fishing rod. As you could imagine, bigger fish equals more money and that would mean that spending your money would earn you more money in the long run.
Another tip is to make sure you are moving around to different locations whenever possible. Sitting in the same spot, just like it is with real fishing, will get you nowhere if you aren’t having luck to begin with. Catching the same fish over and over again will make the game seem more boring than it actually is and that’s no good at all. As stated before, the different locations provide new fish to catch which will usually be worth more than the other ones in previous lakes. To add to the benefits of going to new lakes there is also new scenery for you to admire and I’m pretty impressed by the work they put into it.
Try to do as many of the different achievements as you can to keep the game interesting and give yourself a bit of an added challenge if that’s something you’re looking for. Games like this benefit from a bit of difficulty because they may seem a bit easy at times and that tends to make games boring for me. I enjoy a challenge and these achievement trophies are a great addition to an already amazing game. Gone Fishing: Trophy Catch in general has great potential and each of these tips will allow you to get a bit more out of the game and be a little more efficient when it comes down to it.
As somebody who really enjoys fishing in real life I can say that this game is a good source of fun on a day that you may be stuck at home. The game does a wonderful job of capturing the waiting experience that you face while fishing in real life – but this isn’t nearly as long. The addition of different fish, fishing rods, bait, and locations makes the game so much more interesting than I would have expected a fishing sim to be. With well done landscapes and a very realistic set of sounds to go along with it the game feels like a day on the lake and I hope it doesn’t end up getting a bit stale as I continue playing it. I played the game for a total of about three – four hours at the beginning and have slowly kept playing in order to try to upgrade my fishing rods and equipment.
The graphics and sounds that the game has to offer are great when you think about the type of game and the platform it’s on. Mobile gaming has come a long way and because of that there are much better graphics than you would ever imagine. This game puts them to use at every given chance. The realistic looking fish and well drawn items make the game stand out because honestly I didn’t expect them from a simple fishing sim like this. Each background is perfectly done and captures the feeling of being outdoors as well as you can for it just being a game on your phone. The sounds, or at times lack there of, are simply just ambient sounds like ducks or other birds in the background instead of an actual soundtrack. This seems to fit the game much better than any music really could and it seems a lot more calm than a real soundtrack. Fishing is about the patience it takes to catch the fish and the calm feeling you have while you’re doing it. The ambient sounds add to this and make the game, along with the graphics, that much more realistic and it surprises me the amount of detail they put into it.
So just like any other mobile game Gone Fishing: Trophy Catch has in app purchases that you can make in exchange for real money. You have the option to buy coins in game to make upgrading things a bit easier and just saves you some time. The problem I have with them is the fact that they aren’t needed, like at all. The game almost never feels grindy and I couldn’t imagine needing, or wanting, to pay for coins in game. The prices aren’t terrible and maybe you’ll find yourself wanting to buy them later on in the game. They do not try to force them on you and the buttons to buy them aren’t like oversized and flashing to get your attention. I myself have no problems with in app purchases and do find them vital to a companies success in making money. What I don’t like is when companies try to force you to buy them and never let it go. Gone Fishing: Trophy Catch does a great job of offering these in app purchases while not making it glaringly obvious that they are there.
With all that being said I do find Gone Fishing: Trophy Catch to be a very enjoyable game and it does present itself as a very basic fishing sim. Nothing too flashy about this game and they don’t need to try that hard to make the game worth playing. I have played a few hours of this game as of now and do plan on playing more whenever I have some free time. The game seems to be holding up well and I doubt it will become tedious like a lot of simulator like games are.
Artwork and SFX: The brilliantly designed landscapes tie this entire game together. Every fish I’ve seen so far is well done and is close to being at a realistic quality which is surprising for a mobile game. The items are also done just as well and while they aren’t as hard to get right they are still fairly impressive to me. The SFX in general are true to real life and make me feel as if I was out on the lake and fishing actually. The simulator does a good job of this with the soft ambient noises of birds and other common sounds you may hear during a fishing trip. Gone Fishing: Trophy Catch gets a 9/10 for its artwork and SFX.
Gameplay: With nearly 100 different fish to catch and plenty of items to buy there is rarely a moment when you feel like you have nothing else to work towards in this game. Attempting to catch each different fish and learning which bait and lures work best is a challenge in itself and feels rewarding when you finally catch that fish. The game does what most simulators, or fishing games in general, don’t do and that’s adding an aspect to the game to make it a bit more difficult. The little quicktime event that happens when you reel in a fish is different and seems to make the game less monotonous than some other games. I give the game an 8/10 for its gameplay and additional features.
Addictiveness: Whether it’s trying to get all of the achievements or setting your own personal goals this game is as addictive as you want it to be. You can focus on trying to catch every species of fish in each different location or you can just go at a leisurely pace but regardless of the fact you’ll be enjoying yourself enough to want to come back and play more each day. I’m fairly certain that I’ll be coming back to play later in the day and the game’s diverse gameplay makes it that much more enjoyable and less stale compared to a lot of games these days. I give the game an 8/10 for its addictiveness.
Overall: I give Gone Fishing: Trophy Catch an 8/10 due to its gameplay and artwork being on point and not slacking in any areas.
