Today I have for you a review designed for young children, but of course adults can enjoy this cute game too! The mobile game company, Outfit7, developed a new game called “Talking Ginger,” featuring a kitten named Ginger! Ginger is an orange kitten who would love to be your child’s friend. Talking Ginger is a game targeted towards young children, and it is a spin off based upon Outfit7’s popular and multinational series “Talking Tom and Friends.” Due to its huge success in the market, the series Talking Tom and Friends also has a large and popular fan base, as well as an animated series and music in its franchise. The company Outfit7 started in the year 2006 designing apps for children. In the Talking Tom and Friends series, we are introduced to several characters: talking Tom, talking Angela, talking Ginger, talking Ben, talking Pierre, and talking Hank. Each of these characters are related to one another in some way.
The relationships between all the characters in Talking Tom and Friends are very special. After you get tired of one character, you can download another app for your child to play with. Talking tom is talking Ginger’s uncle, talking Angela is talking Ginger’s good friend, and talking Pierre is his best friend. Talking Ginger was last updated on February 9, 2015 and the content is rated for everyone. It currently has an astonishing number of installs, going from 50 million to 100 million installs on the mobile phone and tablet. Talking Ginger is available for both major platforms, Android and iOS. In order to install Talking Ginger, you will need at least 50mb of space on your mobile device or tablet. Talking Ginger is available in most of the major languages: English, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish.
Talking Ginger also offers in app purchases that cost from as low as $0.99 to as high as $14.99 per item. On the google play store Talking Ginger overall rating is a 4.3 rating out of a 5 point star. While on the iOS itunes store, it has an overall rating of 4.2 stars out of a 5 point star rating. With both Google play store ratings and iOS iTunes ratings, Talking Ginger has been reviewed by over 2 million people! The current top five in app purchases are a small pack of toothpaste for $0.99, medium pack of toothpaste for $1.99, big pack of toothpaste for $8.99, infinite supply of toothpaste for $14.99, and finally unlock all the jigsaw puzzles for $9.99.
Although this game is intended for a younger audience, teenagers and adults can also have fun playing Talking Ginger. In Talking Ginger you are able to take care of the kitten Ginger like you have a real life pet. You will be able to take him to bath, put him to sleep, and feed him. When he is asleep, you get to collect puzzles of a jigsaw puzzle that when you put it all together, you get a big picture. Along with these great features, you will also be able to pet Ginger, poke him, and tickle him to hear his laugh. When he is ready for bed, you can shower and blow dry his fur to get him ready! Then while Ginger is using the potty, you can play games with him using the tissue paper available in the game! Some of the games you can play with Ginger in Talking Ginger is popping the toothpaste bubbles, roll down the toilet paper, and play the jigsaw puzzle game. When Ginger is brushing his teeth in the game, if you are a parent, Talking Ginger will be great to show how fun brushing teeth is! They will be able to brush their teeth alongside with your child.
One of the features of Talking Ginger is the ability to record videos and share them. This allows children who are teenagers playing Talking Ginger to engage with their friends and expand Outfit7’s games. In Talking Ginger latest game update, Outfit7 upgrades Ginger’s bathroom to a shinier one, as well as adding 5 brand new puzzle images, they also improved the child mode so that children won’t be able to access some of Talking Ginger game features without their parent’s permission. There are two modes in Talking Ginger: adult or regular version, and the children version. In the children version things are much easier to do, such as tasks, and Ginger isn’t as time consuming as he is in the regular mode. In the regular mode things are a bit more complicated and time consuming when you take care of Ginger. Ginger also repeats any noises he hears and mimics it. Therefore, your child will be very fond of him because it’s like having their own best friend at every single minute of the day.
Toothpaste are sort of the main currency in Talking Ginger, you can earn one free toothpaste every 24 hours and another alternative way is when you spin the wheel of fortune. If you enjoyed playing Talking Ginger, then you would be happy to hear that there is another installation to Ginger’s story, called Talking Ginger 2!
Talking Ginger is a very fun game for kids, but this game requires a lot of toothpaste and jigsaw puzzles to get through easily. Although you can make these purchases through the app store, it costs real money, and that adds up. If you do not want to purchase these items through the app store, then you need to download the Talking Ginger hack for toothpaste and jigsaw puzzles.
Check out the image below to see just how easy the Talking Ginger hack tool is to use, with the options menu being where you enter the amounts of toothpaste and jigsaw puzzles that you want to add to your account.
Simply download the hack tool from our website, which takes about 30 seconds, and then wait another 20 seconds while the hack automatically installs. Once that is done, simply select either iOS or Android depending on which device you are using, and enter the amounts of toothpaste and jigsaw puzzles you want to add to your account.
Tap “Start” to begin the hack tool, which should take no more than 40 seconds to complete. After the hack has completed, you can open up the game as normal and you will find the amounts of each item are already on your account.
Since Talking Ginger is designed for fairly young children, this game is simple with not a lot of complex or difficult tasks.
The only tip for people playing Talking Ginger would be that if you don’t want to wait such a long time for the daily toothpaste to refresh itself, you should go for the in app items available at their store. The infinite supply of toothpaste costs $15 and with one purchase you can get as many toothpastes as you want! If you don’t want to wait or purchase the infinite supply of toothpaste, you can try to set your time back 24 hours so you can trick the system of this game!
The second tip isn’t necessarily a tip, but a friendly suggestion. Many users have reported that when their children are playing Talking Ginger, they accidentally clicked one of their ads and it lead them to call this premium number. The premium number ended up charging many parents as little as $200. So parents, just beware about the ads!
My overall opinion about Talking Ginger is a fairly neutral view. I think that Outfit7 did a great job at making a series of games that are suitable and well liked by children, which were their target. But however, if they would like to keep their fan base, Outfit7 would need to do a major upgrade. Firstly, I think that Talking Ginger and Talking Tom and Friends series are mainly targeted toward young children such as ages as young as 5 to as old as 13. But this doesn’t mean that older children and adults who are over this age range aren’t suitable to play Talking Ginger. My main reason for thinking that Talking Ginger suits children from ages as young as 5 to as old as age 13 is because Talking Ginger offers very simple tasks both in the regular and children version.
You get to brush Gingers teeth and help him bath. But there’s nothing that goes more complex or more stories after that. If Outfit7 would like to keep their current fan base that are currently growing older (age wise), then they would need to incorporate other elements such as maybe simple math, English vocabulary, and maybe virtual traveling to make the game more interesting. If Outfit7 is constantly making such simple games like Talking Ginger, then when their current fan base the children, have outgrown Talking Ginger they won’t return and Outfit7 will need to constantly push new and similar games out in order to attract new players.
While Talking Ginger is a game that was designed for children, it has been a topic of controversy when parents found one design to be a bit endangering to their child. One of the old updates in Talking Ginger and Talking Tom and Friends was the design of the Ginger, Angela, Tom, and Hank’s eyes, they reflected a person’s face and this was disturbing to some children and alarmed the parents. While I believe that this was removed in the updated version of the games, it was very controversial whether or not that that feature was just part of the game to make it more realistic, or was there someone recording and watching your child through the face camera on your tablet and or phone. Although this doesn’t affect the overall gameplay of Talking Ginger, it does give something to think about before you give this game to your child or yourself to play.
My review for Talking Ginger is a fairly short one because to be fairly honest, this game doesn’t appeal to me as I am not in its targeted game. However, I do see Talking Ginger appeal in the younger audience. If this game was out during my generation, I could see myself playing it just because of the cute kitten factors. Having animals as a best friend is something that any child would want. Whether or not they can have a pet in real life, this really helps them try to be active and have things to talk about with their parents. Talking Ginger also teaches children important concepts, such as how fun brushing your teeth is. Sometimes, parents can come out as harsh when they tell their child to do something, like brushing teeth. Through a fun game like Talking Ginger, Ginger would be admired and look up to. He can influence a child to brush his teeth everyday while their parents couldn’t.
Artwork: The artwork for Talking Ginger receives a rating of 7/10. The art is decent but it isn’t low quality or high quality. The artwork however, does appeal to younger children, their targeted demographics, and the artwork was filled with bright and vibrant colors like orange and blue. All of these colors worked together very well and fit together with one another. The reason why Talking Ginger artwork received an average rating is because the graphics tends to outgrow the player once they get used to the graphics. There isn’t a lot of activities in Talking Ginger either, so this results in lack of different background artwork as well as the player seeing different versions of Ginger.
Music & SFX: The sound effects and music of Talking Ginger receives the rating of 6/10. Although the music is simple and inviting, it really doesn’t do anything more than that and it sounds mediocre. After several times of playing Talking Ginger and hearing the music, one would want to turn it off. The sound effects weren’t anything simple as if other players who have played other characters in the Talking Tom and Friends franchise would notice immediately.
Story & Originality: The story and originality receives a rating of 8/10. While the story line and originality is fairly simple in Talking Ginger, it does deliver what the game description is, bedtime fun. In Talking Ginger one can take care of Ginger and bring him to sleep step by step.
General Gameplay: The general gameplay of Talking Ginger receives a rating of 7/10. This rating is in between as you have to think about it for two different demographics. Talking Ginger targeted demographics, young children, and also teenagers and adults who also play this. For the older audience, this game might only capture their attention for one week. For the targeted demographic, young children, Talking Ginger will possible hold their attention while also have them interested in the other characters in the Talking Tom and Friends series.
Addictiveness: The addictiveness factor in Talking Ginger receives a rating of 5/10. Again, like the general gameplay factor, this really depends on who is playing this game. The targeted demographic, young children, would find this game fairly addicting, however, for the older demographics, they would find it not as appealing as the children would.
The overall rating for Talking Ginger is a 6.5/10. This rating is a result of taking in the consideration of the above factors such as general gameplay, addictiveness, artwork and music. One important thing to keep in mind is that Talking Ginger is really mainly targeted for younger audience, so if you pick this game up and you aren’t really in the within demographics for Talking Ginger, it’s probably because it wasn’t targeted toward you.
