Escape Action is one of the hardest games I have ever played. As a result of being so hard, Escape Action often leaves you struggling to answer its puzzles. I spent more time than I care to admit hunting the internet for hidden tips and cheats. I will present to you the top cheats and tips I discovered.

Escape Action level 8 hints is one of the top searches on Google for a puzzle game. That’s because it’s a major stumbling point for most players early in the game. The key to this level is understanding it’s a math problem. The screen presents you with a blackboard that has “A=05” spelled out on it and just under that has three rotating numbers with the letters FDB printed in the lower right corner of the blackboard. This is a puzzle that relies upon the knowledge of algebraic formulas to rotate the numbers to match the FDB spelled out. So, if A = 05, then what would be the value of FDB? The answer to this puzzle is: D = 8 (4+4); F = 10 (6+4); B = 6 (2+4). Now change the numbers to 10,8,6 and tap on the door.

In Escape Action another challenging level is level 26. The key to this level is in understanding the representation used. There are three buttons in the middle of the screen. These buttons show in order an apple, happy face and a clock. You will need to search the room and count how many apples, happy faces and clocks appear in the room. Start by pulling the string next to the fan downwards to open the hidden hatch in the floor. This reveals another item to count. Now simply tap the buttons according to how many of each object there is in the room. In order, press the apple button twice since there are two apples, press the happy face button once since there is only one happy face and press the clock button three times because there are three clocks in the room.

Escape Action level 42 has an interesting premise. It breaks the “4th wall” by taking you out of the game and requiring you to change the time on the large clock. To do this you need to synchronize the game clock to your phones current time. Then you will pass this level.

Escape Action level 77 will test your mind and knowledge of world cultures. It’s going to require you to identify the flags of Britain, China, Egypt and France. Identify them by sight, then put them into the appropriate vases alphabetically. So for example: Britain = 1, China = 2, Egypt = 3 and France = 4. From left to right in the vases: China, Britain, Egypt and France.

Escape Action level 99 gets very devious. In this level you must complete intricate tasks in the proper order. Start by lifting the papers up and then pick up the wrench. Select the wrench in your inventory and tap the faucet 3 times quickly to fill the sink with water. Pick up the sponge and use it on the sink to wet it. Pull down the string and a blackboard will come down from the ceiling. Use the wet sponge to clean the bottom right wooden square. Count the number of lines for each color: 5 gray, 8 blue and 7 green. Pull the rope. Tap the colored squares the number of times corresponding to the number of colored lines: 5 gray, 8 blue and 7 green.

Escape Action Review

Let me start by saying Escape Action is a fantastic game. It’s probably one of the best puzzle games I’ve ever played. It combines puzzle solving with amusing “4th wall” breaking gameplay features. It’s not uncommon to need to do things like turn up or down the volume on your phone or otherwise manipulate it to solve a puzzle. You play as a security expert that specializes in testing the reliability of maximum security prisons. You’re highly trained to exploit any weaknesses of the prisons and to escape from them without a hitch. Unfortunately, one day you wake up and find yourself framed, locked into a haunted house full of crazy mystery rooms and multiple floors of scary puzzles. You must use all your skills to break yourself out of the rooms one at a time in order to escape and avoid death. You must solve all the puzzles and find all the hidden objects in order to escape and discover who trapped you. Then presumably comes the revenge! However, that’s not covered in this game, just your attempted escape.

Escape Action features some stunning graphics and a highly polished interface. Its distinctive soundtrack sets the mood for a creepy escape game. Escape Action features over 100 of the most difficult puzzle levels I’ve ever seen. Further, there are 15 achievements in the game that will keep you working towards resolution.

The basics of gameplay involve tapping, tilting and shaking your cell phone to solve the puzzles. Occasionally, you must rotate and physically move your phone to use its internal compass to bypass certain puzzles. When you’re in the locked rooms you can also pick up hidden items in the room and use them to enact your escape. Escape Action requires you to have a fairly robust knowledge of mathematics, global politics and logic puzzles.

Ratings

Artwork: I award Escape Action a 7/10 for its artwork. It’s a very well illustrated game. The art style is a bit dark. Most of the rooms look like a run down house. The are plenty of funny graphical surprises hidden throughout the game as well, such as the bear sitting in front of the door that you must convince to move to let you out.

Music & SFX: I give the game a 7/10. The unique soundtrack is quite nice. It’s hauntingly eery without being depressing.

Story & Originality: I have to give this a 5/10. There’s no real story to speak of, it’s just a series of puzzles in a haunted house. That said, the game’s puzzles are very unique. It’s quite original.

General Gameplay: I’m going to give Escape Action a 8/10. The gameplay is very fun. I really enjoyed the way I had to manipulate the device as a component of the puzzles.

Addictiveness: I’m giving Escape Action a 9/10 on the addictiveness scale. It’s so hard to put down, even after failing a certain level multiple times.

Overall, I give Escape Action a 8/10.
