Terminator Genisys: Revolution Cheats & Hack for Gold & Cash

Terminator Genisys: Revolution is game published by Glu and released on the Google Play store and Apple iTunes. Despite its recent release, the game has garnered wild popularity and strong reviews with over 1 million downloads and a rating of 4.3 aggregated from over 70000 reviews. It’s easy to surmise from the massive downloads in such a short amount of time that Terminator Genisys: Revolution is popular with its fans. Is the game deserving of such high popularity and great reviews? In this review I go over the positive and negative aspects of Terminator Genisys: Revolution while offering Tips, Tricks, and Cheats to help make your playing experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Introduction

Terminator Genisys: Revolution is a mobile game based on the recently released Terminator Genisys film. The title is recognizable even by non-gamers, as the Terminator franchise has a history of successful action movies that remain popular years after their release. The science fiction franchise, created by James Cameron and Gale Ann Hurd encompasses more than just the movies, with comics, novels, and additional media such as the mobile game that is the subject of this review.

Despite the many different iterations, the basic premise behind Terminator remains the same. An artificial intelligence system known as Skynet becomes self-aware and uses its power over machines to wage war on mankind. Resistance forces led by a man named John Connor are the deciding factor between mankind’s survival and extinction at the hands of intelligent machines. The most famous of these machines being the Terminators, virtually indestructible super-soldiers originally portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In Terminator Genisys: Revolution, the player takes control of a character named Alex Lopez and leads him through his journey as part of John Connor’s resistance.

Gameplay

Upon loading into the game, the player goes through brief tutorial missions that teach the player the basic controls and provide a quick story, after which Alex finds himself part of the Resistance. The game is a third person shooter and the player controls which weapons Alex is using as well as aiming said weapon and taking down Skynet’s army. The movement of the character through each level is automatic and triggers upon completing a certain goal, such as eliminating all enemies or defending a team mate.

By default, Alex Lopez is ducking for cover. By moving your finger across the screen, you can aim at the mechanical opponents and fire by clicking the bullet button. Combat doesn’t get too much more complicated than that, though there are a few quirks I’ll discuss later on in the review.

During the tutorial, the player is introduced to the various weapons of the game which are broken down into three classes: Short, Medium, and Long-ranged weapons (represented by shotguns, assault rifles, and sniper rifles respectively). Though players are allowed to change between these three weapons at will upon completion of the tutorial, each mission is locked behind a prerequisite power level for one of the three weapons.

In order to upgrade your weapons – a part of the game necessary for advancement – you click on the weapons tab.

Weapons tab

In Terminator Genisys: Revolution, much of the content is gated behind a prerequisite weapon power level. Though you’re given a basic version of each type of weapon at the beginning of the game, leaving it with its base values will result in hitting a wall you can’t get past.

In order to access these levels that require higher power, you have two options: Upgrade your current weapon or buy a better quality weapon of the type necessitated by the mission.

The fastest, albeit expensive way to increase your weapon’s power is through buying a better version of your weapon. There are a lot of weapons that are purchasable via cash or gold. Cash is earned through completing missions, and gold is primarily bought with real money, though there are methods to get it for free which I discuss in the Tips, Tricks, and Cheats section.

As I mentioned, there are weapons that are purchasable with either cash or gold, but you’ll quickly find that the most powerful weapons are not purchasable via cash, requiring you to use premium currency to obtain it.

The cheapest way to be able to access at least the early missions is through upgrades. When you select the weapon you want to increase in power and hit the upgrade button, you’re taken to a screen where you’re given several choices for upgrades as well as the corresponding power increase the weapon will receive for each one.
The three options you can choose from are reload time, rate of fire, and critical chance. These increases are relatively straightforward, and by choosing one of the three (at least in the beginning of the game) you can increase the power of your weapon by 1. Upon unlocking the three upgrades, there’s a node that requires a special currency – plasma cells – to unlock.

There are also a few weapons only unlockable by collecting weapon parts in special Spec Ops missions that are discussed further below.

Each main category of weapon in Terminator Genisys: Revolution has a corresponding secondary ammunition that comes in limited supply and will generally have to be replenished using premium currency.

Shotguns’ secondary ammunition is an MP blast that does area of affect damage in front of you

Assault rifles’ secondary ammunition are grenades which you shoot in a guided trajectory.

Finally, sniper rifles have rockets for a secondary ammunition which you can use to lock on to a specific target. Upon impact the rocket explodes and does area of effect damage. There are two special currencies in the game, gold and plasma cells. Gold acts similarly to premium currencies in other mobile games. You can use it to buy better weapons or reduce timers to get through the game faster. Plasma cells are a rather unique currency earned through completing Spec Ops Missions, a special and limited type of mission that will be discussed further below. Plasma is used to unlock the large damage nodes in a weapon’s upgrade tree, making Spec Ops a necessary part of the game if you want to continue upgrading your weapon.

Missions

As discussed above the way you progress through areas are basic missions. Missions are gated behind your weapon’s power and are split into short, medium, and long range missions. The general idea behind missions is largely the same – either protect your crew or eliminate the enemies while surviving for the specified time. Though the preferred weapon is listed according to the type of mission, you can swap between short, medium, and long range weapons at will throughout the mission.

Spec Op missions offer specials challenges with a set number of attempts you can use to complete them. The rewards for these missions are plasma cells which are needed to fully upgrade your weapons. There also may be a rare mission which is more difficult but rewards parts required to build the spec ops weapons discussed above.
Story missions are usually slightly more difficult than the basic missions, require further upgraded weapons, and advance the storyline of Terminator Genysis: Revolution.

Undertaking any mission requires a certain amount of Stamina. Stamina is expended upon accepting missions, and refills either when you level up or when a certain amount of time has passed. This mechanic is intended to limit how quickly people can move through the game, but people who want to advance quickly can advance regardless of stamina by expending Gold.

Through the game you’ll be taken through the regions of New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Cheyenne Mountain. The game also announces the new region of Los Angeles which is coming soon.

Terminator Genisys: Revolution Hack for Gold & Cash

Terminator Genisys: Revolution is a game that requires a lot of gold and cash in order to get all of the items you need. The problem with that is that gold and cash are available through the app store, which means you have to spend real money in order to get these items. Since the gold and cash require real money, you will soon find out how expensive this endeavor can be, and a lot of people don’t have the extra money to spend on the gold and cash. This is why we at AppGameCheats have added a Terminator Genisys: Revolution hack tool, which gives you gold and cash for free, and it’s safe for both iOS and Android.

The picture found below is what the Terminator Genisys: Revolution hack tool looks like, and you will notice you just have to enter the amounts of gold and cash you want on the options menu.

Unique Tips, Tricks, and Cheats

I talked a little bit about the premium currency of gold and how certain weapons are only accessible with this currency. Though the quickest way to get the gold is to spend real money, there are free options for players who want these unlockable items but are unwilling to spend real money.

At the top right of the screen, Terminator Genisys: Revolution lists your current cash, gold, and plasma cells, and by clicking the plus icon you can access the store. Though at first this section looks like any premium currency store – offering various denominations of gold and throwing in an extra percentage for larger purchases – There are also two buttons that direct you to free ways to earn gold.

At the top left is a button that lets you watch video advertisements for free gold. One advertisement equals one gold and as far as I can tell there’s no daily limit to the number of advertisements you can watch. If you’re really looking to get a premium weapon this is an easy albeit slightly time consuming way to get free gold.

The other button advertises that you can get more gold free. Clicking this button brings you to a page full of offers you can complete for a one time bonus. The majority of these offers give you a decent amount of gold in exchange for something as simple as downloading and opening another free game. While this is not a reliable source for long-term gold making, it can give you a nice boost when you’re first starting the game and give you a decent set of weapons that will last you quite a long time.

Detailed Review

I went into the process of reviewing Terminator Genisys: Revolution with low expectations. The first reason being that I haven’t really found a mobile game that handles shooting in a way that is exciting long-term, and second I enjoy the Terminator franchise and was worried that a mobile adaptation would not live up to the hype of the movies.

That said, I enjoyed the time I spent playing Terminator Genisys: Revolution. There were definitely some issues, but I think the developers did a pretty good job making an exciting mobile third person shooter.

Upon downloading the game I was shocked with how large it is – over 200mb – compared to other mobile games. The reason for the large file size was pretty soon revealed as I noted some of the most realistic graphics I’ve seen rendered in a mobile game thus far. Note that I say realistic, not best, however. I’m a proponent of the idea that developers should shoot for a stylized art style as android devices aren’t capable of providing the realism that most gamers are used to from console or PC gaming. That said, I think the team behind Terminator Genisys: Revolution did a really good job while going for a realistic art style. It definitely wasn’t AAA quality, but for a mobile game it had some pretty good production value.

The music, which in mobile third person shooters I’ve usually found to be lacking, wasn’t overwhelming and seemed to play in the right spots for the right amount of time. The fact that I didn’t really take note of the music the majority of the time is actually a good thing, because it’s easy for obnoxious soundtracks to take away from the experience of playing the game.

A couple of issues I note with gameplay are mainly issues that plague mobile gaming as a whole – fun or interesting material locked behind a paywall. Though Terminator Genisys: Revolution and many other successful games are starting to offer free albeit time consuming ways to gather this premium currency, it’s not very fun to watch ad after ad when some of the weapons available for purchase are pretty expensive.
The fancy guns I can sort of understand requiring real money to unlock, but what really bothered me was the fact that your secondary ammunition was primarily replenished through premium currency. It takes a lot of fun out of the game to introduce a super powerful mechanic and then after the tutorial require you to spend real money to make use of it again. In my experience the secondary ammunition isn’t really necessary to complete the levels, but it’s depressing to be introduced to such a cool mechanic and then realize you’re going to have to sit through a bunch of ads to reload it, or spend your hard-earned money.

In a similar vein, another mechanic that bothered me in Terminator Genisys: Revolution was the VIP rewards. Essentially, by buying enough premium currency during the game’s VIP events you could unlock some exclusive weapons. This seemed pretty cash-grabby and lowered my opinion of the developers considerably.
Like so many games on mobile, the good aspects of Terminator Genisys: Revolution are pushed to the side by the necessity of choosing between spending real money or grinding forever.

Ratings

Artwork: In terms of mobile games going for realistic graphics, Terminator Genisys: Revolution did a pretty good job. That said it’s still obvious the game is designed for phones and the graphics pale in comparison to the current offerings on other systems Rating: 8/10

Music / Sound Effects: The music is generic action music but it’s designed in such a way that it doesn’t detract from the gaming experience. The flipside of that is that I don’t really feel like it adds much either. Sound effects were professional and did not bother me. Rating: 6/10

Story / Originality: In terms of originality, Terminator Genisys: Revolution didn’t do a whole ton in terms of innovation. Story is second to the gameplay, but the game seems to have a pretty solid plot and draws from the incredibly successful Terminator franchise. Rating: 6/10

General Gameplay: The game is enjoyable but becomes frustrating as you realize the best weapons are locked behind a paywall and the player is forced to make the decision between watching a ton of advertisements and spending real money. Rating: 7/10

Addictiveness: I did not find the game very addictive. It didn’t have a whole lot of content that would keep me coming back again and again. Rating: 2/10

Overall Rating: Overall I think this game is decent. It could have been great if it figured out a way to nix the obnoxious pay-to-win factors, but unfortunately a lot of the potential of Terminator Genisys: Revolution was overshadowed by the negative monetization choices. Rating: 6/10
