As you open Shadowgun: Dead Zone, you’ll be greeted by your recruiter who will guide you through the simple tutorial. Instead of going through training, you’ll receive instruction in the field, which can be disabled at any time if you already know the controls from playing previous Shadowgun releases. Shadowgun: Dead Zone is a very easy game to play, but it is very challenging to master. Your controls consist of a virtual joystick on the left of your screen, and several buttons on the right of the screen will control your aim, trigger, reload sprint, roll, and grenade functions. The control scheme can be changed in the settings, and you can also move the joystick and other buttons around the screen to fit your needs (which is also done in the settings). Your point of view will be centered behind your player, with an unobtrusive HUD that displays the weapons and equipment you have equipped, along with the amount of ammo you have left in your clip and in reserve. Your health is displayed by a red haze on the edges of your screen; the more damage you take, the wider the haze will spread. This health system is very similar to the system implemented in games such as Call of Duty, except that your health does not regenerate over time in Shadowgun: Dead Zone. The only way to heal in Shadowgun: Dead Zone is to equip a medpack that heals you or your team members. Apart from this special equipment, there is nothing else that will replenish your health in-game.
There are two main game modes in Shadowgun: Dead Zone, which are Zone Control and Death Match. Death Match is exactly what is sounds like; the main objective is to eliminate all other players in a 1vAll rumble. There are unlimited respawns, but there is a 5 second waiting period between each spawn. You can score points by either earning kills or kill assists, with the former earning more points than the latter. The player with the highest score at the end of the match is declared the winner. Zone Control is a team effort in which you fight for control over a certain areas on the map. When one team has control over a zone, the conquering team gains points for that zone and the team without control of the zone doesn’t. Points are tallied by counting the points gained from holding zones and the amount of spawns left on each team.
Before you head to battle, you can customize your weapons and inventory within the “Research” menu. Tapping the “Research” tab on the left while you’re in the main menu will open a submenu with several tabs on a slider bar below. From here you can choose to upgrade or unlock special items and weapons, including medkits, radars, explosives, turrets, and several character perks. Shadowgun: Dead Zone makes sure to reward your hard work by granting access to awesome weapons as you level up, such as the Sh*tstorm mkII rocket launcher, Violator plamsa thrower, and the Doomhammer shotgun, so make sure to create an account so you can save your progress throughout the entire Shadowgun: Dead Zone experience. Who would pass up on the chance to fry your opponents with the Violator, using the power of science? Not me, that’s for sure.
You also have access to a shop where you can purchase character skins, hats, several “boosters” which augment your skills, and bundles that contain money, characters, hats, and a premium account trial. Everything in the shop can only be bought for gold, which is earned in matches, or by watching special promo videos/downloading certain free apps. You also have the option to purchase gold, starting at $2.99USD, which gets you 2,400 gold.
While Shadowgun: Dead Zone is a great game to be playing, it requires you to have a lot of gold and cash to get the items and upgrades you need in the game. Cash and gold can be purchased through the app store, but it costs real money, and a lot of people cannot afford to keep making these purchases. Due to the popularity of the game, we here at AppGameCheats have decided to add a free hack tool for Shadowgun: Dead Zone Online, which gives you unlimited amounts of these items for free.
Check out the picture below and you will notice the setup of the hack tool, which is really easy to figure out. Simply enter the amounts of gold and cash that you want to add to your account right there in the options menu.
Download the free Shadowgun: Dead Zone Online hack tool, which is available right here on the website. You then need to select either Android or iOS, and then type in how much gold and cash you would like to add to your gaming account.
Click on “Start” to begin the hack tool for Shadowgun: Dead Zone Online, which takes around 30 seconds to finish. Once that has completed, simply open up the app on your device and the items will have already been added to your account. Using our free hack tool gives you all of the cash and gold that you want for free, and that allows you to focus on the game instead of on trying to find ways to collect the amounts you need for upgrades.
Now that we have the basics covered, it’s time to move on to advanced combat techniques to use in the field, and tips for maximizing your Shadowgun: Dead Zone experience.
Daily Rewards- Each day you log in, you gain a free poker chip that you can use in the Shadowgun: Dead Zone slot machine. The slot machine will award various amounts of gold depending on what you spin; this amount could be large enough to last you a long time, which would eliminate the need to spend money on IAP (In-App Purchases). The secret to consistent wins in Shadowgun: Dead Zone is a combination of skill, luck, and good equipment, so you’d better make sure you take advantage of the daily spin to upgrade and augment your character as much as you can.
Taking Cover- You know what’s better than being invisible on the battlefield? Not much, but crouching behind cover comes in close second. If you want to ambush your enemies or escape hostile fire, you can approach almost any low wall or tall container in the battlefield to automatically take cover and hide your position. You will know when this happens if your character crouches or presses his back against the wall, which will give you a view of what’s around the corner. From this position, you can pop up or around the corner to blast your unsuspecting enemies when they’re within range, or you can lob a grenade towards incoming enemy fire. Since not many people know about this feature, you may as well be cheating when you take advantage of cover. If you add this combat strategy to your game plan, your average K/D ratio will be guaranteed to skyrocket. Just make sure nobody sneaks up on you while you’re peeking around the corner!
Run and Gun- When you’re first starting out, you’ll be very underpowered compared to most other experienced players on Shadowgun: Dead Zone, and the only way to even the odds is to become amazingly good with your starting SMG (the Bandit), or to purchase the starting shotgun (the Mace) when you reach level 3. The Mace is powerful at close ranges and can dispatch an enemy in one shot if you go for the head at close range, but most players aren’t going to let you run at them head on. To effectively use the Mace, you need to run around the outskirts of the map until you find somebody with their back turned, just starting to spawn, or even run head on into somebody who has a weak SMG or long distance rifle equipped. You can defeat them before they can even get a shot in if you’re quick enough, even if they’re using all manners of boosts and special weapons. You may even catch a player running right across your screen, perpendicular to your position; the limited peripheral vision in Shadowgun: Dead Zone is a part of the game you can use to your advantage, just make sure you’re the hunter and not the hunted. The most important secret to starting off in Shadowgun: Dead Zone is learning to use the Mace; make this a top priority, and this cheat will pay back your time spent, and then some.
Melee- When you use the Run and Gun method shown above, you’ll often find yourself fighting in very close quarters. When you get close enough to an enemy, you can deliver a staggering blow that will knock your enemy off of his or her feet by tapping the fire button when the red “melee” indicator flashes in your reticule. While they’re sprawled on the ground, you can either execute them with your weapon, or (if you’re feeling like having a bit of fun) you can employ some Scottish Martial Arts by repeatedly hitting them with your melee as they’re trying to get up again. This will save ammo and greatly improve your chances of coming out alive from this encounter, even if you barely have any health left. Just be careful: when you use melee on you opponent, they will automatically spin around so they’re facing the spot you were when you hit them. Try to circle around to their flank so they’ll have a hard time getting a bead on you.
Unlocking the Radar- When you reach Rank 9, the radar should be available for you to buy in the Research menu. This will map out the enemies around you, which will prevent any sneak attacks. This is definitely vital if you use cover often, as you will have a limited point of view and will be completely vulnerable on one side. This little hack can mean the difference between fourth and first place in a Deathmatch, so make sure to keep an eye on your rank; the sooner you unlock this upgrade, the better.
Secondary Weapons- If you want to command the flow of battle, you have to be flexible and able adapt to any situation. Until you reach Rank 4, you’ll be limited to carrying only one weapon, which greatly restricts your battle readiness capabilities. When you reach Rank 4, make sure to unlock your secondary weapon slot in the Research menu; this upgrade will be in the “inventory” tab. With a good SMG or AR paired with a shotgun, you’ll be ready for anything. This cheat will unlock new realms of possibility in terms of game plans, so choose your primary and secondary weapons wisely.
Shadowgun: Dead Zone has captured my attention ever since I completed my first match. If somebody were to tell me that there were console-quality games on the App Store, I would have taken them for a liar, but Shadowgun: Dead Zone has proved me wrong. While the graphics aren’t the best compared to newer releases on PC or the PS4, I’ve definitely played games with less definition on my PS3. To be frank, if Shadowgun: Dead Zone was offered on PS3 as a mini, I would gladly drop $10 on it and call myself lucky for getting it at that price.
The sci-fi inspired artwork in the game is revolutionary in the realm of mobile gaming, and the online gameplay is incredibly smooth, especially for a mobile release that came out three years ago! The soundtrack that accompanies Shadowgun: Dead Zone sets the mood perfectly, and I find the SFX in the game to be more realistic than most other Shadowgun clones that are out there on the App Store. While Shadowgun: Dead Zone isn’t jam packed with content like the prequels, this game definitely brings a special element of competition to the Deadzone series that was sorely needed. If I bought a new mobile device and had to pay to download Shadowgun: Dead Zone again, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Shadowgun: Dead Zone has been so much fun over the past few days, that I’ve barely set it down for a moment.
The only negative aspects of Shadowgun: Dead Zone that I’ve run into have been the spawn mechanics and lag. Spawns are completely random, and don’t take the position of other players into account; I suppose I can’t expect a mobile release to use powerful algorithms when they’re not absolutely necessary, but I still think that the spawn locations could have been engineered a little bit better so that you don’t spawn right in front of another player who’s holding a shotgun. As for the lag… It’s not the fault of Shadowgun: Dead Zone or their servers in any way; there are multiple players in each match, and occasionally you’ll run into somebody with a bad connection, and they will glitch around and become hard to shoot. I suppose this is more of a complaint against other users who still use dial-up rather than a complaint towards Shadowgun: Dead Zone, but it’s something you may have to worry about while you’re playing.
Artwork- Shadowgun: Dead Zone has some brilliant artwork, especially for a release from 3 years ago. I really enjoy the way characters look, and I think the developers did a decent job recreating the space theme. While the artwork isn’t the best, I still think it deserves an 8.5/10.
Music/SFX- The background music in Shadowgun: Dead Zone puts me in the mood to rock n’ roll n’ bust some skulls. I think they did a good job choosing a theme that wouldn’t be overly obnoxious, but would get your heart pounding a bit faster. The SFX in this game are once again good considering when it was released, but they aren’t the absolute best. I think Music/SFX deserves another 8.5/10.
Story/Originality- This is probably the only category in which Shadowgun: Dead Zone is lacking. There isn’t a backstory to this game at all, unless you count previous releases; this is a standalone multiplayer release without a campaign or story mode of any kind. The creators of Shadowgun: Dead Zone did make an effort to put their own creative twist in this game by customizing the weapons, skins, and maps, however. I believe the story/originality deserves a 6/10.
General Gameplay– Shadowgun: Dead Zone is an absolute pleasure to play, especially if you like games like Gears of War or the various other third person shooter apps on the App Store. I never get bored playing Shadowgun: Dead Zone, and the only time I put it down during sessions is to give my poor eyes a break from this pure, mutant-blasting awesomeness. General Gameplay deserves a 9.5/10
Addictiveness– It takes effort to climb the ranks, but it’s easy enough to make me grind for long periods of time, all so I can unlock that beautiful Doomhammer shotgun. I don’t think I’m going to feel like I’m “done” with this app until I get there, so I guess that’s a definite sign that I’m thoroughly hooked. Addictiveness gets a perfect score of 10/10.
All in all, Shadowgun: Dead Zone has been a trip, and I’m going to keep at it until I get my stinkin’ Doomhammer. Taking all of the subcategory ratings into account, I think Shadowgun: Dead Zone deserves and overall rating of 8.5/10.
