You will begin Dead Trigger 2 as an unnamed survivor, cast deep into the concrete landscape of the city by the zombie horde. The tutorial will guide you through the basic mechanics of Dead Trigger 2, introducing you to your first ally, the Medic. The controls are quite simple: you have a joystick on the left to control movement, and the joystick on the right to control your camera; this joystick will also serve to aim your reticule around the screen when you have access to your weapons. You will automatically swing your melee weapon or fire your gun when you aim at enemies within range, but if you wish, you can change this in the settings. Turning auto-fire OFF will add a couple new buttons to your screen: A reload button, an aim button (switches to iron sights view), and a fire button. You will be able to aim while shooting, or you can aim without shooting by using the empty screen near the fire button as a joystick. Firing your weapon manually may be a bit of a challenge for you at first, but you’ll soon get used to it, and I believe it will make you a better player.
The “campaign” or “story mode” in Dead Trigger 2 consists of a series of missions you can complete in several regions; Africa, the U.S., and Asia, for example. With each mission you complete, you will gain access to the next after a 20 minute waiting period (the tutorial missions don’t have a waiting period, however). Once you complete the full series of missions within one continent or region, you will gain access to another region, provided you’ve unlocked it with your tech upgrades (we’ll talk about upgrades in just a moment). Along with the campaign missions, you will have daily jobs and extra side missions that provide various challenges and rewards; these will help you to pass the time between campaign missions, find weapon parts for you gunsmith, and earn extra cash to be spent at your Hideout, which will be the next thing we’ll discuss.
The hideout is your home base where you create or stock up on supplies, upgrade your weapons or tech, and plan out your next mission. There will be 5 other people in the hideout that will help you out; the Gunsmith, the Scientist, the Smuggler, the Engineer, and the Medic. Here’s a breakdown of their jobs and what they can do for you:
The Gunsmith- The Gunsmith will build any weapon for you, provided you can supply the blueprints or a handful of gold. You can also ask the Gunsmith to upgrade firearms and melee weapons that you already possess, but this also comes at a price; cash (silver coins) will be the main currency with which you’ll trade or use for upgrades in the Hideout.
The Scientist- Labeled simply as “Tech” in the Hideout, the scientist is apparently a part time interior decorator; his primary function is to provide decorations to the hideout, but his secondary function is more useful in my opinion. The scientist’s second function is utilized whenever you upgrade him: each upgrade unlocks a new continent or region for you to explore, and it also increases the variety of items and blueprints that can be dropped by zombies you kill while you’re on missions. Despite initial appearances, the Scientist is a very valuable asset indeed.
The Smuggler- The Smuggler is a self-proclaimed enthusiast of all “forbidden military items”… Yeah, sounds sketchy, right? The smuggler stocks various boosts and powerups that will strengthen your character in Dead Trigger 2, the effects of which range from health or damage boosters, to speed and money boosters. While much of his ware is extremely tempting, it costs gold to purchase, which is only available in small quantities in-game, or via IAP (In-App Purchases). In essence, these boosters are behind a paywall, but they’re definitely worth getting if you don’t mind spending a bit of real life money on Dead Trigger 2. You can upgrade him with cash, which will bring down the cost of his wares, so at least you have that going for you.
The Engineer- The Engineer is the resident boom-man, or so it seems. The Engineer produces a wide variety of explosives for you to use whenever you feel like finding out what the inside of a zombie looks like. You can upgrade the engineer to access a wider variety of explosives, including the “Boom Chicken”. Now that I think about it, it is also evident that he holds some sort of grudge against chickens… Hmm, keep an eye on that fellow; a zombie apocalypse can make people act a little funny I guess.
The Medic- She’s the first person you will meet in the game who hasn’t been infected, and she’ll end up being the most important person you will ever meet in all of Dead Trigger 2. The Medic can build painkillers and auto-heals to help you out while you’re on missions, so don’t forget to stock up before you head out.
Now that you know the basics, it’s time to move on to advanced strategies, cheats, and tips for enjoying Dead Trigger 2 to the max.
If you are sitting there playing Dead Trigger 2, then you are likely to figure out that money, gold, health, and ammo are really important to help you progress through the game. Although you can purchase the money, gold, health, and ammo from the app store, you will notice it costs money, and it gets expensive quickly. If you would like to get these items for free, you need to download our hack tool, which is found right here on our website.
Check out the image below to see how the Dead Trigger 2 hack tool works, and you will see that the options menu is where you enter the gold, money, health, and ammo that you want to add to your account.
The first thing you need to do is download the free hack tool for Dead Trigger 2 right here from the website, which takes 20 seconds. You will need to wait an additional 20 seconds while it automatically installs. Choose either iOS or Android, and then you can enter the amounts of each item you want.
When you are ready, press “Start” to begin the hack tool, which should take less than 30 seconds. Once the hack tool has finished, open up the game on your device, and the gold, money, health, and ammo will be in your account ready for you to use.
Know Your Enemy- In case you haven’t picked this up already, your main opponents will be zombies; lots of zombies. Usually, most zombie-shooters will be a monotonous arcade-style game that gets boring or easy after 30 min, but Dead Trigger 2 managed to spice things up a little bit by adding an extra challenge: green-eyed granny eaters! The average, run-of-the-mill Z’s in Dead Trigger 2 will have red eyes, and will take damage at a normal rate, but those zombies with green eyes are more resilient than their soft skinned cousins! it will often take 3 headshots or many more body shots to drop the green-eyed Z’s, so make sure to not let them get too close.
Wrenches are Heavy– Use your melee weapon to your advantage! Most players will completely ignore their melee weapon until they run out of ammo, but by that point they’re probably completely surrounded, and the melee weapon will prove to be ineffective; buh-bye, buddy. The best way to utilize your melee weapon, and save precious ammo for the real pickles, is to smash skulls when there are only 1-4 zombies milling about in the immediate area. Since bashing things with a 7-kilogram chunk of metal has a tendency to cause harm, a good swipe with the wrench or other melee weapon will cause the zombies to recoil from the blow. You can take out a small group of Z’s without letting them even get a hit on you, but only if you time your attack and strike at the right moment when they’re all grouped close together. Since the physics in Dead Trigger 2 aren’t 100% realistic, you can damage a handful of zombies simultaneously with just one swing. In summary, the secret to preserving ammo is to not use it; keep this cheat in mind, and you’ll do just fine.
The One-Armed Bandit– You can use this awesome hack to try your luck, and maybe even win a ton of gold! If you stop by and open up the Scientist’s “interior decoration” menu, you’ll unlock a slots machine, which the Smuggler will give to you as a gift! Each spin costs 1 gold, but you have the opportunity to win thousands of gold in return! Even post-apocalyptic survivors need a little fun now and again.
Ballistic Telekinesis- If you ever come across a mission where you have to snipe zombies, there is a quick and easy cheat to help you land a headshot every single time. Line up the crosshairs as close to the head as you can, and fire as you normally would. Once the bullet leaves the barrel, however, you should quickly anticipate and correct the trajectory of your round by swiping across the screen in whichever direction you want the round to go. For example, if you fired a round a little too far to the right, repeatedly swipe left to guide the bullet mid-air, directly onto your target. Using this cheat, you’ll be a professional Dead Trigger 2 sniper in no time.
Removing Ads– If it seems like an annoying video ad plays whenever you return to the hideout after a mission, there’s a neat little trick you can use to banish these ads completely from Dead Trigger 2. If you visit the shop and buy anything at all, including the cheapest item there, all ads will go away for good. I’m not sure if this is intentional or not, but if ads annoy you, it’s definitely something to keep in mind.
Be Your Own Employer- While you venture into new regions and continents, you will come into possession of various assets, such as oil fields, that will generate profit for you at no cost. These assets will be marked with a silver coin on the map, and tapping the coins will collect the funds generated by said assets. Make sure to check your sites often; they have a limited coin capacity, which means they will stop generating money after they reach a certain amount of money stored at the site. For maximum efficiency in Dead Trigger 2, it is best to utilize this cheat and collect your funds often. It’s literally free money, and who doesn’t like free money?
Dead Trigger 2 is a very innovative zombie-slayer release that combines multiple gaming elements into one package. I like the fact that there are side missions that offer a change of pace from the campaign, like using sniper rifles to defend your base, or riding into an infected town in a helicopter, with all turrets blazing. Since Dead Trigger 2 would become a bit repetitive if it weren’t for the side missions, I think the inclusion of this aspect of the game was a good idea. Dead Trigger 2 has a simple premise and little story, but I think this is a good thing specifically for this game, even though I normally like having a storyline in the games I play. If there was a complex story in Dead Trigger 2, it would have to be based on human drama, which isn’t something I care for, and I don’t think it would suit the game; as it is, Dead Trigger 2 does a good job of being a fun, primarily action-based app, which is something that the App Store seems to lack.
The controls for Dead Trigger 2 are a bit inaccurate; I often end up tapping buttons that I didn’t mean to tap, but this could mainly because I’m playing on a small touchscreen rather than a controller. On that note, it may be a good idea for everybody with a jailbroken device to pair a bluetooth remote when you want to play Dead Trigger 2; you’ll have a much better experience with this game, especially if you have manual fire turned on (which is something I discussed earlier, if you missed it). With the paired controller, Dead Trigger 2 will play more like an older console release than a game made specially for mobile devices. The graphics and art in Dead Trigger 2 are decent, especially for a free app, but it’s nothing special. If the graphics and artwork was improved, I think Dead Trigger 2 would be a game worth paying for, so I’m hoping there will be a third Dead Trigger release with updated visuals for a newer device.
In the end, Dead Trigger 2 is a super fun free app, and I think everybody who likes zombies or FPS action should check it out and download it from the App Store today. It takes some time to get into the groove with this game, as there’s a small learning curve when dealing with the controls, but they’ll soon become reflexive after some practice, so don’t worry about it if you don’t master the controls right away.
Artwork- The artwork is decent, and I’d describe it as on-par with a PlayStation 2 FPS release. This might sound like a bad thing, but I think otherwise, considering you’re getting the gaming power of a large (albeit old) console within the palm of your hand. Overall, the artwork isn’t amazing, but it’s not bad by any means. The artwork gets a 7/10.
Music/SFX– Dead Trigger 2 has a simple soundtrack that isn’t repetitive, and it doesn’t have an annoying continuity break whenever it loops, which is more than can be said for many other mobile games. The SFX are pleasing, and I enjoy the fact that every action you take has a unique sound effect, such as firearms that sound different, rather than one “gunfire” sound that plays no matter which gun you fire. Music/SFX deserves a 8.5/10.
Story/Originality- Like I said earlier, there isn’t much of a story to Dead Trigger 2, but it makes up for it with side missions that add a special sense of progression within the game. The story is lacking, but I think this is a good thing, and the innovative nature of Dead Trigger 2 definitely makes up for any feeling of monotonous gameplay. Story/Originality receives a rating of 9/10.
General Gameplay– Dead Trigger 2 is super fun to play, and you can enjoy it in short bursts or for long gaming sessions. The only issue I have with the gameplay is the fact that the controls can be slightly difficult on a small touch screen, but this can be solved by linking a bluetooth controller to your device if it is jailbroken. General gameplay deserves an 8.5/10.
Addictiveness- Dead Trigger 2 is extremely addictive, and the fact that you have side missions to play while you’re waiting for your campaign missions to become available only sinks the hook in even deeper. Addictiveness gets a 9/10.
Overall, Dead Trigger 2 gets my rating of 8/10.
