No known cheats exist for Speed Racing but there are quite a few tips that I will present to you today.

The first and most significant tip that you can use to maximize your success at Speed Racing is to try to keep your car located in the middle lane. Returning your car to the middle lane as often as possible minimizes the distance that you have to travel in order to avoid other vehicles and road obstacles. Since your vehicle turns very slowly it’s important to not require yourself to travel further than necessary. Additionally by keeping your vehicle in the center lane it will be easier to collect more of the coins that are scattered in random locations on the road. It is truly important to return to the center lane after passing a vehicle or avoiding a road hazard.

The second tip that should improve your gameplay significantly involves carefully controlling the speed of your vehicle. Simply put, do not accelerate your vehicle, accelerating your vehicle only increases the difficulty in avoiding vehicles and Road obstacles while not actually improving your score or the distance that you travel. Furthermore, having your vehicle travel at a higher rate of speed will make it more difficult to collect all of the coins available as they are scattered throughout the road. Strangely enough, there is truly no benefit to using the acceleration feature in Speed Racing.

My next tip involves power ups available and which ones you should select when given option. In Speed Racing the most effective power up by far are the magnets. You should endeavor to pick the magnets up off of the road whenever you see them. I would even prioritize magnets over coins available on the screen, since picking up the magnets will immediately gather all available coins on the screen to you. Additionally magnets will continue to automatically gather all the coins available on the screen for a period of time after you collect them. You should be keeping your eyes open for magnets when entering into the tunnels. This is because the vast majority of magnets available in the game are located at the start of the tunnels.

Another solid tip that should help you control your vehicle more accurately is the hold your phone horizontally when you steer. Doing so activates the sensor in your phone more easily thereby allowing you a greater level of control while steering your vehicle. I easily found that after using this simple tip I was able to nearly double the distance I traveled before crashing.

The final tip I have for you seems to defy common sense but I promise it’ll work out better for you if you trust me on this one. When attempting to collect coins so that you may earn upgrades and unlock new vehicles you want to try to stick with the original car the Tiny Bee. Feel free to pay for the upgrades on the Tiny Bee, but make sure to continue using it while collecting coins since this vehicle drives the slowest and is the most easily controlled of all the available vehicles. The later vehicles are better for reaching the longer distances but are harder to control to be able to pick up all the coins along the way.

Speed Racing Review

In Speed Racing you drive a car by shifting your phone from side to side, doing this causes your car to steer from left to right so that you may avoid crashing into other vehicles driving on the road or road obstacles. The other basic control present in Speed Racing is the ability to accelerate your car by pressing anywhere on the screen and holding, doing this will, much like a real vehicle accelerator cause your car to gradually accelerate. While driving your vehicle down the road you attempt to pick up coins scattered in the road that will later allow you to purchase vehicle upgrades and even new vehicles entirely. You must gather these coins all while attempting to avoid vehicles that are changing lanes in front of you. A few of these vehicles have drivers considerate enough to use their turn signals. However, many of them will simply cut you off requiring you to rapidly change lanes.

In Speed Racing you have the option of driving up to seven different vehicles. The first vehicle: the Tiny Bee is available for free. The other six, however, are locked and you must earn coins to unlock them.

These vehicles and their costs are as follows:

the Bluebird – Needs 3,000 gold coins to unlock
the Snow White – Needs 7,500 gold coins to unlock
the Rose Flame – Needs 15,000 gold coins to unlock
the Silver star – Needs 30,000 gold coins to unlock
the Hot Sand – Needs 60,000 gold coins to unlock
the Dark Knight – Needs 150,000 golds coin to unlock

All of these cars are rated on three categories: life, acceleration, and deceleration. The Tiny Bee for example has one out of three bars in each of these categories. Whereas, the Dark Night, is rated three out of three bars on two out of three of these categories, and two out of three in its final category.

In addition to the vehicles there are three different types of power ups you may purchase. These power ups are: clear one fog, protect car from crash, and repair your car. The clear up one fog power does exactly what it sounds like, when you activate it one fog cloud on your screen will immediately disappear. The clear one fog power up will cost you 500 gold coins. The protect car from crash power up when activated protects your vehicle from any crashes for the next 10 seconds. The protect car from crash power up will set you back 1000 gold coins. The repair your car power up functions after you crash you have the option of using it to immediately repair your car and to continue from where you crashed. Finally the repair your car power up is going to cost you a whopping 3500 gold coins.

Overall I found Speed Racing to be a very entertaining and relatively unique addition to the racing genre. The game itself quite difficult even without accelerating to move any faster. I appreciated that despite offering in app purchases none of them felt necessary to the enjoyment of this game. In this genre of games that is a very rare thing. Italy Games is a company that seems to handle the balance of free to play games with profitability quite well. That said, the prices they charge are quite insane. For example to unlock the best car in the game, the Dark Night, will cost you a little over $20 of your real money. Furthermore, if you’re really bad at the game and need to purchase many of the power ups you will receive a discount on gold coins if only you spend $100 of your real money. If you’ve never tried mobile racing games I highly recommend you give this one a try for free.

Ratings

Artwork: I am giving Speed Racing a 9/10 for its artwork. The graphics are clean and crisp the other vehicles on the road are very well illustrated and the scenery you drive past whether that be grass and trees or tunnels and cities is quite realistic.

Music & SFX: I’m going to give this game an 8/10 for its music & SFX. The soundtrack is quite exciting and the special effects from revving your engine to watching other vehicles use turn signals is immersive.

Story & Originality: Speed Racing earns itself a 7/10 for its story & originality. While it’s true there’s no story the game is quite original. Using your mobile phones built-in sensor to steer your vehicle truly gives the illusion of using a steering wheel.

General Gameplay: This game deserves a 7/10 for its general gameplay. Speed Racing is a very entertaining race game with enough challenges and upgrades to unlock to keep you coming back for more.

Addictiveness: on the addictiveness scale I’m awarding Speed Racing a 7/10. While attempting to write this review I found myself continually picking the game up again and playing it. I think that says a lot about how entertaining the game is.

Overall, I give Speed Racing a 7/10.
