I think that the user interfaces within Madden NFL Mobile have been designed to almost perfection. There are no buttons that are too small where it becomes an issue to access them, while simultaneously there are no buttons that are too big that they become a little too overwhelming and awkward to work with throughout the parts of the gameplay where you need them. In addition to this, another nice feature of the user interfaces is; nothing is too cramped or crowded into a small area of the screen. Every single button is nice and extremely easy to press, and I had no issues with continuously pressing the wrong one due to odd and inconsistent sizes, and the layout was also consistent and simple throughout – which helped when using them, a lot. Everything is also buttery smooth and nicely responsive – everything works just like I originally expected it to, and even blew past my expectations. The user interfaces are extremely easy to use – scrolling was very nice and smooth with no lag or unwanted, awkward stuttering along the way. Overall, I am very pleased with the user interfaces that are provided throughout the entire use of Madden NFL Mobile.
I also discovered that the graphics and artwork within Madden NFL Mobile were very nice and aesthetically pleasing, overall. I found that although they do look realistic to a certain extent, they also feel and look slightly cartoon-esque. This is a great technique which has been done exceptionally well by the developers, since I am still able to tell exactly what things are, and how they work – whilst they are at the same time appealing to a wide range of ages, a lovely feature! I can see the artwork and graphics being enjoyed and appreciated by the likes of children, young and late teenagers, adults, as well as some specific members of the elderly, too! Because of the way that the realistic look is combined with cartoon features, it has a perfect result. The artwork suit Madden NFL Mobile perfectly, and it gives Madden NFL Mobile a lovely overall feeling. I can see that a lot of time and hard work has been dedicated towards the artwork and graphics department for Madden NFL Mobile, and once again – it paid off perfectly and the result is amazing. The graphics also add to the previously mentioned immersivity of the game.
I think that any age of person, and any gender, will be able to enjoy this game since it has nice artwork and lovely playability. As long as the user knows how to use a mobile device, and knows how a football match works, I see no reason why they wouldn’t get along nicely with Madden NFL Mobile.
I am extremely pleased with the way that the developers of Madden NFL Mobile have managed their use of third party advertisements within the game. I have come across absolutely zero third party advertisements throughout the whole of my gameplay – since they did not include any, whatsoever! All that I have come across is small, very simple, advertisements which promote the in app purchases, and these are not third party. This is also fairly forgivable since the game is nice to play. It is nice to not be distracted by flashing banners and annoying pop ups every time I went to play a match, and I can see that mobile gamers will appreciate this greatly.
Artwork: I am able to give Madden NFL Mobile a very well deserved 10/10 for the artwork which is provided. The artwork is nice and pleasing and I did not find myself to have one single issue with it throughout the whole of my time playing the game. It is appealing to a wide range of ages, all the way from young children to some members of the elderly alike. I believe that the artwork from the developers, for Madden NFL Mobile, is one of the main, and best, features of the game and it is one that adds to further aspects of the game – such as general gameplay. I am very pleased with the work done here. I have no suggestions for changes, nor do I have any suggestions for improvement – the artwork is perfect.
Music & SFX: Madden NFL Mobile does deserve a strong 9/10, but nothing more. The music, although slightly quite and fairly mild, adds a great sense of atmosphere to the football games. It makes every single football match feel much more intense and enjoyable. There are also some nice sound effects, which make the user feel more immersed, and helps them become a part of the game. They suit the game nicely, but still not perfectly. I feel as if the sound effects could be much more realistic – this would result in an even more immersive experience for the user of Madden NFL Mobile. However, the music and sound effects are still very pleasing.
Story & Originality: I am unfortunately only to give Madden NFL Mobile a low 2/10 for its story and originality. There is virtually no story line throughout the whole of the game – I have no idea who my characters are, besides their names, and why they are playing in these football games. Most importantly, the game does not give me a reason to play – since there is no storyline. But, this type of game has not been created many times before – it is still fairly new. However, the only reason I am able to give Madden NFL Mobile anything above a zero, is because there are not many football games with all of these fantastic features. Also, the customization options for the users teams are fairly unique, so I can give a little higher than a zero for that.
General Gameplay: I am able to give Madden NFL Mobile a very well-deserved 9/10 for the general gameplay. This is a strong point, mainly due to the other contributing factors, such as immersivity. Because the game is extremely immersive, the artwork is nicely pleasing, and the controls are exceptionally smooth, it makes the game become very enjoyable and fun to use. Since things are easy to use, but still hard to master, it makes the game much more enjoyable than it could have otherwise been. I cannot give the full ten since the sound effects could be improved a little bit. Other than that, I am very pleased with the general gameplay of Madden NFL Mobile!
Addictiveness: I can only give Madden NFL Mobile a fairly mild 5/10 for addictiveness. All of the football games are fairly repetitive – the courses the same, but just slightly different characters and character customisation. So, this does take away from the addictiveness a little bit. Also, since there is no storyline, at all, I have no reason to play, whatsoever – this also takes away from the addictiveness. However, if I do ever have some spare time that needs killing then I am likely to open Madden NFL Mobile to waste that time. Other than that, I do not find myself going out of my way to play Madden NFL Mobile – mainly because it is a little repetitive and does become fairly boring after some time.
Overall, I give Madden NFL Mobile an 8/10.
