Zombie Hunter Apocalypse is an Action game developed by Genera Games, a company which is known for applications such as Slot Party, Ramboat or Touch Racing 2. Zombie Hunter has a rating of 4.2 out of 5 on Google Play and 4 and a half stars on Apple’s App Store. It has been downloaded for about 2 million times on both platforms and it requires an Android version of 2.3.3 and up or, for Apple devices, iOS 6.0.
The title of the game is pretty explanatory because in Zombie Hunter you take the role of a survivor which happens to be a master marksman. Your mission is to take care of fellow humans that are still alive and to snipe the zombies from a convenient high-ground location or right from the street level. The game is more about positioning and aim than movement because you can’t really die in it. Your solely purpose is to kill zombies before they kill civilians.
Zombie Hunter Apocalypse is a game based on a refilling resource called Energy that is consumed when you do stuff within the game. There are also 2 currency types: Money which is used for buying and upgrading equipment and Gold which is the premium currency and it is used to refill Energy instantly or to buy premium weapons and equipment. As you have probably guessed, Money is gained by completing missions and Gold can only be bought with real money. The price for Gold varies starting with $4.99 for 100 and going up to $99.99 for 2,400 Gold. You can also buy in-game Money with real money – $4.99 for 5000 up to $79.99 for 100,000.
You are not required to sign-up for the game or to link any social account but I would recommend it because by doing so you ensure no data loss. As a bonus, if you link your Facebook account with the game (you can block the app to post on your behalf) you will receive 10 Gold and 3 Dogs and if you link your Google+ account you will receive 3 Spanky Bars.
Zombie Hunter Apocalypse is a really fun game to play, but gold and cash are vital to help you get through the game. You can get the cash and gold through the app store, but this costs you real money, and this often gets too expensive. If you would like to get the cash and gold for free, then you need to check out our Zombie Hunter Apocalypse hack tool, which you can find right here on our website.

Always aim for the head. It’s a zombie game, what would you expect?
Prioritize your targets. Kill the zombies that are an immediate threat to the civilians and then focus on the others.
If you are not able to find the zombies, the civilians will cry for help. However, you will have a small window to aid them or they will die so be prepared. Or you can be a casual boring gamer and use the radar (I am joking, the radar is great for everybody).
Use the Primary Weapon for single targets and the Secondary Weapons for multiple targets or when you want to spread bullets and hope for the best.
If you are feeling overwhelmed use a Spanky Bar. It will slow down the zombie and give you the time you need.
Do the extra game modes when they are available. It is not hard to complete them and the extra cash flow is always a good thing.
Don’t forget to upgrade your Secondary Weapon too. It will come in handy.
Don’t kill humans because you will fail the mission. Focus on zombies.
Shoot all the secret boxes you can find. They are rarely filled with bad stuff.
Since I was little I always loved the idea of being a Sniper (or a Bomb Squad Unit but the movie Hurt Locker made me change my mind) and of course I was fascinated about zombies. After years passed, I am still very enthusiastic about both of the subjects. Zombie Hunter Apocalypse is a game that has them both so it was obvious I would really like it. Even though in a real zombie apocalypse I would probably not last long, the fact that I have the possibility of snipe zombies virtually from my device is pleasant enough. The game is fairly simple and follows a classic recipe of action games: Kill zombies, upgrade weapon, kill some more zombies, wait for the energy to fill, rinse and repeat.
What I like the most about Zombie Hunter Apocalypse is the fact that the game uses real weapon names (most of them anyway). I am tired of Action games with weapons such as “Dragumov” or “Akk-47”. Another thing that is great it’s that the game has a lot of options and everything can be customized. I am a lefty so the fact that I can move the buttons is very important. You can also change the motion sensitivity, enable shadows or decide whether you want to see blood or not. The fact that it is hard to keep the weapon steady when zooming or that you need to have an unobstructed vision for a clear shoot brings the game a nice touch. Moreover, I like the missions where you test weapons and that you have the possibility to buy them right away even though you will probably not do so – usually in action games you need to buy first and then test. In the end, I really think that what makes Zombie Hunter Apocalypse great is the fact that it is not pay-to-win. You can make your life easier by investing real money in the game but if you don’t want to, you can still experience all the features from the game.
There are some things that I don’t like about Zombie Hunter Apocalypse too. First of all, even though there is a rank system that looks like a level-up implementation it does not feel like my character is progressing in any way. A small skill tree with small bonuses would have been great. Secondly, I really don’t like the fact that in order to do some of the missions I need to have a specific weapon or upgrades. Let me fail the mission for 10 times and kindly tell me that I should upgrade the weapon if I want to do the objectives – that way I don’t feel obliged to. Finally, I would have appreciated some more equipment to be introduced to the game – pipe bombs for example or at least some interaction with the environment – explosive barrels and so on.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Zombie Hunter: Apocalypse. Objectively speaking, I really think that the game has the potential of offering a great experience to almost everybody.
Artwork: Zombie Hunter: Apocalypse gets 8 out of 10 for its artwork. Let me put this simple, the game looks fantastic visually speaking. However, this is true until shooting happens because after that you will see all the flaws and limitations of the graphic engine. Zombies disintegrate in a funny 90s way, the bullet goes in slow-motion straight into the pavement but somehow kills the zombie and so on. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy the game. The theme is great and the environment respects it to the letter (post-apocalypse cities left to burn), the weapon design is awesome and the fact that the zombie and civilian layouts are various is a good thing. I am only frustrated that because of the dorky animations I was not able to give the game a maximum rating.
Music & SFX: I give the game 9 out of 10 at this section. Zombie Hunter is one of the few mobile games that have a solid soundtrack. The music matches the theme – it is stimulating and makes the player’s adrenaline rush and because of this reasons it suits perfectly with the type of the game. The gun shots are sounding real and different depending on the weapon used (usually developers omit this aspect). The zombie sound effects are not very great but decent. I would have loved a voice with a few phrases for the character I’m playing with – something simple like “Bullseye” or “Unlucky”. It would have given the character an awesome touch.
Story/Originality: The game gets 7 out of 10 at this segment. Zombie Hunter Apocalypse is not the first and definitely not the last game about zombies and survival because zombies are popular nowadays. Fortunately, this game has a pretty good story which is perfectly proportioned – not too complex to bore the player, not to shallow to annoy the player. There are a few games that resemble Zombie Hunter but I believe this happens because of the theme. This game has enough extra content to feel somehow authentic so the developers did a decent job.
General Gameplay: I give the game 9 out of 10 for its gameplay. You will be surprised but the gameplay is intuitive and straight-forward. At the beginning you will have a basic tutorial that will cover everything you need to know. Because of the nature of the game, you will only need to aim and shoot. There is not much movement involved so don’t worry if you don’t have the dexterity (or a small screen) to do. For the time I’ve played I did not encounter any bugs, freezes or crashes so from this point of view Zombie Hunter is excellent.
Addictiveness: Zombie Hunter Apocalypse receives 8 out of 10 for its addictiveness. As I probably mentioned before, this type of games are not very addictive by nature. However, the story from Zombie Hunter Apocalypse is intriguing enough to catch the player’s attention. The fact that you can’t finish the game (some of you really have a lot of free time) in one run because of the energy limitation is a good strategy to keep the game addictive. The game has also got a daily reward bonus (you get a Bazooka after 5 days!) and the side missions/objectives are also interesting.
Overall, Zombie Hunter Apocalypse gets a rating of 8.2 out of 10. The game is fun, well-made and challenging.
