• You can change the baseball’s position before you shoot. If you are more comfortable shooting from left or right, just move the ball the way you like.

• Try to hit the cans with a Power Shot because that’s the way of getting additional points.

• Getting 3 Stars at each level is not required but keep in mind the fact that in order to advance to a next scenario you need at least 60 stars to the previous one.

• Use the Explosive Cans to your advantage. When they are hit, they will provoke an explosion that will destroy cans (and environments parts if it’s possible) in a small area around them so you should use the right angle to ensure a maximum effectivity.

• When you will encounter cans placed on different structures, you should focus on the structure and find a way to destroy them rather than shoot one can at a time. You will get 3 stars much easier this way.

• There are some levels with moving bands that usually have an explosive can on them. Make sure you hit the can because it will not return during the same level for a second time.

• The Extra Ball Cans must be hit in order to get an extra ball. If they are dropped down by another can or by the structures, you will not get your desired extra ball.

• If an Extra Ball Can is hit but it doesn’t fall down, you will get your extra ball only the first time. The second time you hit the can (and eventually make the can go away) it will act like a normal can.  

Can Knockdown 3 Review

Can Knockdown 3 is a game that you stumble upon when you expect less. It hasn’t been promoted aggressively but it has his loyal fanbase. Personally I am not a big fan of this games but if you are passive-aggressive casual player (like my girlfriend) you will probably love it.

One of the things I like the most about Can Knockdown 3 is the fact that it is full of diversity. The levels change often and the obstacles are really various so you will very often encounter something new. Moreover, even though you will encounter some levels where you will only need to be really lucky, a lot of the levels will challenge your mind and make you think where and how to shoot in order to get the maximum rating (3 stars). I also think that using a baseball instead of a tennis ball or something like that is uncommon. Choosing this type of ball is a great idea because it is well known that baseballs are kind of heavy and they don’t bounce. I find it very interesting that the developers taught about the times when you will definitely miss and created a responsive background – you can shoot parts of the environment like traffic signs and they will interact (at a basic level) with the player.

There are some things that I don’t like or I would change about Can Knockdown 3 too. First of all I think that a multiplayer implementation where you would compete for a number of levels (let’s say 10) with someone else and then finding out who was better and were would be great addition for this game in particular. Secondly, I believe that there is a small discrepancy between consecutive levels difficulty – after you struggle for a while with one level, you get 3 stars in just a try on another. In the end, I think that the game should lower the amount of the ads or at least the time between them. They are not disrupting the gameplay but if you are really concentrating to the game, the ads will definitely get you out of focus.

Overall, Can Knockdown 3 is a game I would definitely recommend for a player who wants to do something while in subway or during boring classes (kids, stay in school!). It is created for this and I think that the game is pretty solid.

Artwork: Can Knockdown gets 8 out of 10 for its artwork. The game is fairly simple in my opinion and it doesn’t require any special visual effects or an expensive graphic engine because so I don’t completely understand the high requirements it has. Even though it lacks this “mandatory” things for a nowadays game, Can Knockdown 3 looks very modern nevertheless. The cans are looking surprisingly good and the baseballs are nicely designed. I think that the level designs of the game is really interesting and it doesn’t bore the player – you can discover small new things every new level. Also, the animations are above average and they are looking really good.

Music & SFX: I give the game a rating of 8 out of 10 at this section. Not only the music matches the game’s theme but it also gives it a very groovy touch. Can Knockdown 3 is not a game you would expect to have this kind of music so I was pleasantly surprised by it – you feel like you are in a Broadway pub or if we take a look at the artwork in a Broadway pub’s back alley. The sound effects are pretty good and they suit the game perfectly. I also like the crowd’s reactions because they cheer or boo you depending on the results. The only problem with them is that because of the nature of the game they will start to be repetitive and eventually annoying.

Story/Originality:  Can Knockdown 3 gets 7 out of 10 at this section. The game doesn’t have a story whatsoever and even though it may be weird for its type to have a story behind it wouldn’t be impossible – I’ve seen much simpler games with a small lore. From the title you will find out that this is the 3rd Can Knockdown so there are at least 3 games that are looking like almost the same. If you search the market you will see some relatively similar games that are approaching the same idea but they are using a different theme. However, this is just pure coincidence and I don’t think that Can Knockdown 3 copied another. Fortunately for the player, you have a bunch of options when you want to play a game of this type.

General Gameplay: I give the game a rating of 8 out of 10 for its gameplay. Can Knockdown 3 is a pretty intuitive game but you have a starting tutorial anyway. The difficulty isn’t that hard and you can reset a level for as many times as you like so there is no pressure on the player. There is a slight issue with the baseball control because sometimes it just doesn’t go where it should be – but I am not sure if this problem is because of my mobile device or a global one.  I’ve also encountered some problems that are most likely caused by the ads – after you close an ad there will be lag for 2-3 seconds. Other than this, the game runs smooth and I’ve been crash-free.

Addictiveness: Can Knockdown 3 gets 8 out of 10 for its addictiveness. This is a game that can be pretty addictive to competitive players. There is no extra content available in the game but in order to pass a level you must take at least one star (and here is where the competition kicks in – nobody wants to get less than 3 stars). Because of this, there is some sort of repeatability in Can Knockdown 3 but in my opinion not enough. On the other hand, I like the fact that there are a lot of levels and each one brings something new to the game. This game has the potential of staying a long time in your library.

Overall, Can Knockdown 3 gets a rating of 7.8 out of 10. The game has a lot of good moments and with some slightly adjustments it can become really good.
