• Get used with the strengths and weaknesses of each kind of troops. It really counts. Think of Rock, Paper, Scissors only with troops. Cavalry beat Archers, Archers beat Swordsmen and Swordsmen beat Cavalry.

• Make sure you upgrade your Commander as often as possible. Don’t forget to get me to ascend as well.

• Use the Map Screen in your advantage and make sure you get the first strike. It is always good to take the initiative. 

• After you get used with the game, start to play some matches in the arena. It will be much harder but with a bit of luck and tons of skills, you will receive a lot of gold and maybe even Blood Sigils.

• Use the Tactic Points which you gain when you complete Masteries only with bosses. Most of the Tactic Points are damage oriented and all that extra damage you get from them can make the difference between a win and a loss.

• Don’t waste the Blood Sigils if you are not going to pay real money for them. Use them only on Pacts.

• If you are in need of extra experience to level-up some weaker commanders, feel free to replay already completed missions. The enemy will be weaker and you will not lose a lot of time.

• If possible, avoid direct fight by dodging enemies during the Movement Phase. The only reason you should do this is to conserve your troops’ energy and life if you are going to face a though enemy/castle.

• Log in the game at least three times per day so you grab your Free Pacts. It may not seem much, but they will eventually stock up and you will get your desired champion to fight for your side.

Blood Brothers 2 Review

It is always a pleasure to review your favorite game genre. Blood Brothers 2 is a title that doesn’t need much introduction because if you played RPG’s on your computer, you most likely tried Blood Brothers on your mobile device. This new game continues the good story, above average gameplay and overall nice looks of the first Blood Brothers so you will not be disappointed by it if you are a fan.

One of the things I like the most about Blood Brothers 2 is the fact that the game is continuously updated and that there is a real support team almost always online ready to help you with problems that you may encounter while playing the game. It is a nice form of respect showed by the game developers. I like the fact that even though the game has a long but interesting campaign mode, Blood Brothers 2 also has one of the best multiplayer implementation I’ve ever seen on mobile devices. You can go in arena by yourself or with your guild and the matches are balanced for most of the time. Future developers should research this game. The number of different troops is another reason I consider Blood Brothers one of the best RPGs at the moment. Moreover, I like the fact that you can level-up or help your heroes ascend into more powerful beings. This helps a lot in my opinion. Lastly but not least, I like that you are able to oscillate between campaign missions and doing other stuff. Some of the games don’t allow this kind of things.

Like in any game, there are some things I don’t like about Blood Brothers 2. First of all, I consider that at this moment the game is a little too much – pay to win. You rarely get good heroes if you don’t purchase a lot of Blood Sigils. I know that this is how they get money but a bit of balance would be really appreciated. Secondly, I am not entirely a fan of the advantage-weakness system implemented for the troops. Because of this, the troops are split into 3 main categories – I would have wanted something more complex (Pokémon style).  Lastly, I really am disappointed with the fact that because of the distance between the titles, you will most likely don’t see NPCs from the first game into this one (and if we get them it will disrupt the story).

Overall, I would probably recommend Blood Brothers 2. However, the game is hard and you should get used with RPG’s before you start playing this one because otherwise you will not understand a lot of it.

Ratings

Artwork: Blood Brothers 2 gets a rating of 8 out of 10 for its artwork. The game isn’t one of the most modern looking but that’s not really important. The theme approached in Blood Brothers 2 is somehow fantasy-medieval. The way the characters and monsters look is great. I don’t really like the environment because it’s too static and I would have expected more. The animations are a bit dull and I can see where the developers rushed – I would have focused more here (especially on the variety of them). Other than this, Blood Brothers 2 is a pretty solid game when you talk about its artwork.

Music & SFX: I give the game a rating of 9 out of 10 at this section. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by Blood Brothers 2 soundtrack’s quality. The songs (yeah, there is more than one song in a game, I am surprised too) the developers used are suited and because of that the atmosphere the game has is pretty great. The music reminds you of a medieval world where magic stuff happening was common. I also think that the sound effects are good because from time to time you will “feel” the way your army and champions feel. Overall, I can’t say that I can complain much on this department, good job Blood Brothers 2.

Story/Originality:  Blood Brothers 2 gets a rating of 8 out of 10 at this segment. The game is a sequel so naturally there is still one game that looks exactly the same as this one but that’s not a problem. I like the fact that the action takes place in the same world/realm as in Blood Brothers 1 but I am a bit surprised about the timeline – 100 years is a long time. The story is not one of the best I’ve read but it seems legit enough to keep the player intrigued about it. The game has a lot of extra contents that helps with its authenticity.

General Gameplay: I give the game a rating of 8 out of 10 for its gameplay. Being so complex, Blood Brothers 2 can and is very overwhelming for new players. You have a lot of research to do before you can consider yourself a good player. The game has a tutorial but I don’t think that is enough because there is a lot of information to remember. Fortunately, you can always use the Help menu or even ask people for tips and tricks. For the time I’ve played, I haven’t encountered any bugs, freezes or crashes.

Addictiveness: Blood Brothers 2 gets a rating of 8 out of 10 for its addictiveness. I will be honest, I like the game. You have a lot of things to do starting from a solid complex campaign and continuing with a pretty good Arena system. However having all of this things implemented, the game may scare the occasional player. The “problem” of complexity is common in RPG games and because of that casual players tend to give up easy leaving a rather good title only for the hardcore players.

Overall, Blood Brothers 2 gets a rating of 8.2 out of 10. The game is solid and is one of the best RPG’s for a mobile device but it can easy become overwhelming. Proceed with caution.
