The new trend on the market is the publishing of sports games. It doesn’t really matter the sport and unfortunately it doesn’t matter how good the game is either. The idea of quantity over quality is popular and that bothers me. On a much brighter note, 9 Innings 2015 Pro Baseball is the exception that I wished for. It looks solid and it provides an interesting experience to the player.

What I like the most about 9 Innings 2015 Pro Baseball is the fact that the game has the license of the MLB (Major League Baseball Players Association) and that you will play with real teams and real players – no more weird names. In addition to this, if you want, you can even create your own personal baseball team.

People are paying millions to bring a team in their state and you can do this in a game – not a bad thought if you ask me. Also, I appreciate the fact that the game has a complete tutorial and that you can learn anything you need to learn about baseball from it.

One other good feature 9 Innings 2015 Pro Baseball has, in my opinion, is the fact that you decide how “automated” the game is. You can do all the pitch by yourself or you can choose what roles to play. The more the responsibilities you have, the higher the rewards will be but this is a great implementation, nevertheless.

I really like the idea of reviewing the game on Google Play and receiving not only the thanks of the developers (it should be enough) but also a substantial prize. In addition to this, the fact that you can choose not to see the ads for a second time during a day is awesome and everybody should take notes from this game.  

There are a few things I don’t like about 9 Innings 2015 Pro Baseball too. First of all, I think that the game’s duration is a little too long. You can simulate all of it, that’s true but I would like the possibility of playing an entire game by myself but on a shorter period of time. For example, the compression of time that is present in tennis games. Secondly, I think that at the moment is a little too hard to get a competitive team if you don’t want to invest real money.

There are a lot of opportunities and free prizes if you are a loyal player, that’s true, but some minor adjustments are still required. Finally, the last thing I don’t like about the game that I can think of is the fact that the game doesn’t even have a system of leaderboards to simulate some multiplayer interaction.

Artwork: 9 Innings 2015 Pro Baseball gets a rating of 7 out of 10 for its artwork. The game doesn’t look like a 2015 modern application should and I believe that there is a valid reason for this. However, here, we just talk about the artwork. The background design is not that good and you can see a lot of the “rogue” pixels which are annoying.

The character design is also not the best I’ve seen. I am a bit disappointed by the animations (using the bat and throwing the ball) because they feel unnatural. Also, the game’s camera brings out a not-so-advanced graphic engine which really hurts the rating.

Music & SFX: The game gets a rating of 9 out of 10 at this section. I must admit, I am totally shocked about this game’s sound effects and music. Not too long ago I complained at a similar sports game that the crowd is dull and that I expected a more “lively” audience during the game – 9 Innings 2015 Pro Baseball delivered.

The menu music is not the best I’ve ever heard but that matters too little when you have such suited sound effects. Don’t get me wrong, there is still room of improvement, but you feel like you are a spectator to a baseball match on a real baseball pitch and that’s what matters – cheering, funny sound effects and responsive audience.

Story/Originality: 9 Innings 2015 Pro Baseball gets a rating of 8 out of 10 at this section. Let’s be honest, this is not the first time and definitely not the last time you will play a baseball game on a mobile device. This game doesn’t have a story whatsoever but it does have a career mode and all the pro baseball teams licenses (at least I hope they do). The developers did a solid study about baseball and you can easily say that they are definitely fans of this sport. The game has a lot of original elements and it can be considered authentic with no problems at all.

General Gameplay: The game gets a rating of 9 out of 10 for its gameplay. In 9 Innings 2015 Pro Baseball you will encounter probably the most thorough and complete tutorial in your gamer life. If you don’t know anything about baseball and you successfully complete the tutorial, you will definitely learn anything you need to know.

The game can easily get overwhelming because it is very complex but fortunately the developers left the player with the possibility of “Auto-decide” anything they don’t completely understand or simply don’t want to do. Because of this, every casual and hardcore gamer can be pleased by the game’s difficulty. For the time I’ve played, I haven’t encountered any major bugs, freezes or crashes.

It has all the mandatory features that are required in a game – a full career mode that is anything but boring, quick random matchers, consistent daily rewards and smart achievements (such as succeeding in annoying your opponent) .

As a bonus, you have a really smart system of baseball cards implemented. You get your players from cards, just like when you were a child. What more can you wish for? The only thing that the game currently lacks (and I mentioned it before) is a multiplayer implementation of any sort.

Overall, 9 Innings 2015 Pro Baseball gets a rating of 8.4 out of 10. It is a strong solid game with the potential of reaching the tops and staying there for a long time. The only major problem the game has (and I don’t want to sound racist) is the Europeans. Most of them never heard of baseball and will probably skip it because of this.
