• Be efficient. Try to build the towers in strategic points: the strongest at the entrances and the others in the middle. This way there will be few who will reach the middle of the area.  

• Don’t waste time because it will cost you. Always deploy the reinforcement troops as soon as their time for training is finished.

• Save the charges from the tesla coil for emergency purposes. You have limited charges per level unless you want to spend gems.

• It would be a good idea to build infantry towers near roads (marked by a black-yellow strip). They are the most mobile “tower” so to speak.

• Upgrade all your towers. Each one of them has a utility so don’t discriminate. Also, in order to get new versions of them (Mk II), you need to get at least one upgrade first.

• Don’t let the hero stay in the first line of fire because it will be focused. Move him around so you can maximize his potential.

• In addition to the above tip, make sure you constantly upgrade your hero too. He will gain experience and eventually level up depending on the enemies he killed during a stage.

• The only way to penetrate an enemy’s shield is using the laser tower. One or two placed in key position (the beginning of the wave) can really help.

Alien Creeps TD Review

The TD from Alien Creeps TD’s stands for Tower Defense. And I am personally a big fan of this popular game mode from 2007 or so. Initially, it was a standalone game but was revitalized by Warcraft III Modes and then by mobile device game developers. When I am required to review a TD, I always look at two things: the theme and the tower design and balance. Fortunately, Alien Creeps TD has an interesting theme and it is a very balanced title.

The thing I like the most about Alien Creeps TD is the fact that the game doesn’t follow the rules of TD’s by the book. Because of this, you will find interesting features such as the use of a hero (Flak or others) who will participate in every stage and will try to help as much as possible. In addition to this, you can call for backup troops or even airstrikes that will aid you in your battles against pesky aliens.

When you feel ready you will be able to play in Veteran or Spec Ops modes where your tower types and numbers will be limited.  Also, I really like the fact that you use a “research lab” to upgrade and develop your towers and that the hero has an experience pool and he will level up. The main problem of a TD is the repeatability and because of all this small features combined, Alien Creeps TD got rid of the repeatability.

One of the other things I personally like about Alien Creeps TD is that you will not be annoyed by ads and that even though there are certain advantages for the players who invest real money, the game is still fair.

Like I already told you, in the following section I will mention what I don’t like about Alien Creeps TD or what I would change. Don’t worry, I will be short because I don’t have many complaints. Firstly, I believe that the game still needs some additional towers. It can cause some unbalancing at first, that’s true, but a tower defense is a tower defense and the diversity really matters.

I believe that there are a lot of great elements that are keeping the player entertained, why shouldn’t they add some more. Secondly, I would change the button design when you click on a tower – After playing for several hours during several days, I still sell by mistake my towers because I click on the $ symbol – make it a trash can or something. Finally, I would like to add a game mode (paid or not) where you can play from the attacking point of view and try to breach some alien bases. Or, even better, if you play as the aliens – one mission in ten or something like that. That would be marvelous.

Overall, Alien Creeps TD is one of the games I will recommend with pleasure to anyone. It has a funny theme, it has a great gameplay and you don’t need to be a TD Guru to enjoy it. Did I mention that it is free too?

Artwork: Alien Creeps TD gets a rating of 9 out of 10 for its artwork. The theme is really colorful and cartoonish but it isn’t annoying in any way. There aren’t any eye-catching graphics but that matters to little in a tower defense game. The character design is hilarious and all the bad guys look like viruses (from flu drugs commercials) rather than bad aliens who want to invade the planet. The heroes are the vague resemblance of 90s action movie heroes so everything is a big but funny cliché. Naturally, the visual effects are cartoonish but they look interesting enough.

Music & SFX: I give the game a rating of 8 out of 10 for its music & SFX. Fortunately, the music suits with the game’s theme and creates a pretty nice atmosphere. I would have expected more variety for such a cartoon-oriented game but Alien Creeps TD can’t have them all. The sound effects are really funny and they are basically saving the game. It is nice that each tower and unit (friendly or not) has its own sound effects set. It helps a lot with the overall impression.

Story/Originality: Alien Creeps TD gets a rating of 9 out of 10 at this section. The game surprised me right from the beginning because it has a story and you don’t usually see stories for TD’s. It is a cliché because aliens are invading the planet and all that but seeing a TD campaign incorporated in a story is something I rarely see. Towers that deploy troops, having playable heroes and calling for raid supports are interesting and uncommon features that help with the game’s authenticity.

General Gameplay: I give Alien Creeps TD a rating of 9 out of 10 for its gameplay. The beauty of this game is the fact that even though it is a TD and this genre tends to be overwhelming, everyone can play it. The tutorial from the beginning is helping you a lot and there are helpful hints throughout the entire game. Upgrading towers and troops can be done automatically so there’s no need to worry. You can also choose not to play increased difficulties if you don’t feel up to it. For the time I’ve played I haven’t encountered any major bugs, freezes or crashes.

Addictiveness: Alien Creeps TD gets a rating of 9 out of 10 at this section. It has all that a game is required to have in order to be considered addictive and it is also a TD. You can’t ask for more. As I already mentioned before, there are more than a few elements that help with the game addictiveness (different game modes, an interesting campaign, deploying troops, upgrading towers and so on). You also have a nice achievement implementation that rewards you accordingly and, for statistics lovers such as I am, an encyclopedia of enemies that you encounter. If only there would have been a daily reward too…

Overall, Alien Creeps TD gets a rating of 8.8 out of 10. The game is one of the good ones on the market and there would be no surprise if it will reach the tops and stay there for a while. However, because it is a TD, it requires some luck as well.
