The goal in Empire War: Age of Heroes is to govern your own city and expand it into a large empire, but upgrading your buildings, recruiting heroes, training troops and taking over other cities by going to war. The gameplay starts with a tutorial, in which you will have to listen to a guide, and do exactly what she tells you to. Your city has no buildings in it when you start, so you will have to construct houses, in order to provide shelter for your citizen. The more houses you construct, the more citizen you city will have.

There are four different resources in Empire War: Age of Heroes, which are called Food, Wood, Stone and Iron. You need each of these resources, in order to be able to feed your citizen and soldiers, construct houses and other buildings, and make weapons for your army. You can farm for these resources by constructing Farms, Sawmills, Quarries and Iron Mines. These buildings will provide your city with the much needed resources, and they will continue providing resources, even if you are not playing the game.

By constructing Barracks, you will be able to train troops and use them to defend your city, when it gets attacked by another random player. You can also use your troops to scout other cities, plunder them or occupy them. By scouting other cities, you will be able to find out how strong the city is, and how many soldiers it harbors. Once you have scouted another city, you will be able to either plunder its resources, or occupy it and use it as your second city.

In order to progress through the game, you can complete tasks. By completing tasks, you will learn how to properly play Empire War: Age of Heroes, and you will also construct the necessary buildings for your city to grow. Successfully completing tasks will reward you with valuable resources and silver coins.

Empire War: Age of Heroes has two different kinds of currencies. The first currency is in the form of silver coins, which are easily obtainable by playing the game, completing quests and plundering other cities. The second currency is in the form of gold coins, which are very difficult to obtain by playing the game. You can also purchase more silver coins with premium gold coins. You need silver coins for a lot of things in Empire War: Age of Heroes, but probably the most important thing you need them for is, to be able to train more troops.

You can purchase premium gold coins with real money, if you wish to do so. Purchasing gold coins also gives you a lot of resource packages, depending on how much you spend on the gold coins. The price for gold coins starts at $4,99 for the smallest amount of 1400 gold coins and goes up till $99,99 for the largest amount of 24.000 gold coins.

Cheats & Tips for Empire War: Age of Heroes

There are a lot of websites on the internet that claim they have working cheat tools, hack tools or mods for Empire War: Age of Heroes, which you can allegedly use to give yourself an unlimited amount of in-game resources, silver coins and premium gold coins. The websites that offer such tools are usually designed to make people feel comfortable to download files off of it. For example, you will see logos that guarantee that the cheat tools will work, and you will see random fake testimonials from people on Facebook. Of course, being able to give yourself an unlimited amount of in-game resources, silver coins and gold coins sounds too good to be true, because it really is. The only reason that such fake cheat tool websites exists, is because of the fact that mobile gaming has become very popular over the years.

On these websites, you will see detailed descriptions of tasks and see pictures or videos on how to properly complete those tasks. During the tutorial in Empire War: Age of Heroes, you will be asked a couple of times to instantly finish a constructing and several building upgrades. You will need to use your premium gold coins, in order to perform these actions. However, premium gold coins are hard to come by, and they cost a lot of money in the in-game store. I would advise everyone to not speed up any constructions or upgrades, during the tutorial. This way, you will save some of the premium gold coins, and you will be able to use them later on in the game.

Empire War: Age of Heroes Review

I have played many games like Empire War: Age of Heroes before, but I still feel like the developers have done a good job at making a very nice game. For starters, there is a very nice tutorial at the beginning of the gameplay, which has a voiced female guide. This really makes the tutorial more entertaining, compared to other tutorials that only consist of text balloons. Once you have finished the tutorial, you can still tap on the guide, who will then help you with the gameplay. This is a very nice feature, especially considering that there are a lot of casual mobile gamers, who can easily get confused.

The graphics in Empire War: Age of Heroes are pretty nice, but there is nothing different added to it, compared to other similar games. The soundtracks and sound effects are nice as well, and they are very nicely combined, which makes them easy on the ears. This is very important for players that are not looking to get annoyed by in-game music and SFX.

A very positive aspect about Empire War: Age of Heroes is that the developers of the game did not implement any kind of advertisements into the game. Normally, it is understandable when free-to-play mobile games have advertisements in them. However, many developers seem to not care about proper ad-placement, and they are only out to earn as much money as possible through ad-revenue, without caring if they are annoying or obstructing the players. Thankfully, this is not the case with Empire War: Age of Heroes, and you can play the game without getting annoyed or obstructed by any kind of advertisement.

Empire War: Age of Heroes is a very balanced game, but unfortunately, it also has several negative aspects. For starters, every action that you take in Empire War: Age of Heroes, requires you to wait a certain amount of time. At the beginning of the gameplay, the timers will be about ten seconds to sixty seconds long. However, the more you progress through the game, the longer the timers will become. Later on in the game, you will find yourself waiting several hours, just so a building will be constructed.

Of course, you can speed things along by using premium gold coins, but they are almost impossible to come by for free, which means that you will have to purchase them in the in-game store. The problem with this is, that not everyone wants to, or is able to spend money on a free-to-play mobile game. The developers should perhaps look into implementing a different kind of reward system, which rewards players with gold coins, whenever they spend a lot of time playing Empire War: Age of Heroes.

The second negative aspect about Empire War: Age of Heroes is that your city will usually be plundered or taken over by another player, because you are very weak at the beginning. You can join alliances with other players to make yourself stronger, but players in your alliances usually don’t help you out when you get attacked. I believe that a game like Empire War: Age of Heroes should protect new players, until they are able to recruit and train a lot of soldiers.

Empire War: Age of Heroes Ratings

Artwork: I give Empire War: Age of Heroes an 8/10 for its artwork. Empire War: Age of Heroes has some pretty decent, but simplistic and generic graphics. The graphics in this game feel very familiar, because of the fact that there tons of similar games available on the app stores. This doesn’t take away the fact that the developers of Empire War: Age of Heroes have obviously spend a lot of time designing the graphics and animations in the game. I really like the fact that the animations make the game feel alive, especially seeing your citizen walk around in your city.

Music & SFX: I give Empire War: Age of Heroes an 8/10 for its music and SFX. Empire War: Age of Heroes has some pretty nice soundtracks and sound effects, which really enhance the gameplay in a very good way. The soundtracks keep playing in the background, are easy on the ears and will not bother or bore any of the players. The sound effects range from menu button SFX to constructing a building SFX, and they are combined nicely with the soundtracks.

Story & Originality: I give Empire War: Age of Heroes a 5/10 for its story and originality. There are a ton of games on both Google Play Store and iOS App Store, which are very similar to the gameplay in Empire War: Age of Heroes. It is very unfortunate that there are a lot of developers out there, who simply copy game concepts from each other. I would have loved to see some original features and creative ideas in Empire War: Age of Heroes, but there are none. I can personally name at least three other games, which have the same game mechanics, same game concepts and similar graphics as Empire War: Age of Heroes. There is also no backstory in this game, even though a story would have really enhanced the gameplay, in my opinion.

General Gameplay: I give Empire War: Age of Heroes an 8/10 for general gameplay. The gameplay in Empire War: Age of Heroes starts with a very nice tutorial, in which a guide teaches you how to properly play the game, how to construct new buildings and how to complete quests successfully. The thing I like the most about the tutorial is, that the guide is voiced by a female, while other tutorials normally only consist of text balloons. After the tutorial ends, the gameplay becomes pretty straightforward, but remains very entertaining due to all the buildings, troops and other features you can explore. What I like the most about Empire War: Age of Heroes is that you can form alliances with other random players around the world, and help each other to conquer other cities. The controls in Empire War: Age of Heroes are smooth and responsive and the user interface is cluttered, but still clear enough to play the game.

Addictiveness: I give Empire War: Age of Heroes a 7/10 for addictiveness. It is very nice to see that Empire War: Age of Heroes does not have any kind of advertisements implemented in it, and the game is generally very addictive, especially if you enjoy strategy games. The only aspect about the game that really brings down the addictiveness, is the fact that you have to wait a certain amount of time, every time you take an action in the game. For example, when you start constructing a building or when you try to recruit troops, you will have to wait a certain amount of time. Normally, this is not a problem, but the more you progress through the game, the longer you have to wait. The waiting times can range to several hours, which is unacceptable.

All things considered, I give Empire War: Age of Heroes a 7/10.
