If you like city builder games and would find it interesting to breed and fight dragons, than I got just the game for you. In Dragon Village, you are being tasked to construct a city, collect dragons from over twelve elements, breed dragons and construct houses for your villagers and farms to feed your dragons and villagers. Once you have established a nice city, you will be able to battle your dragons, to find out who the strongest dragon in the world is.
Dragon Village has been developed and successfully released by game developer itiw, and is pretty popular among mobile gamers. The game has been downloaded over five hundred thousand times with a whopping rating of 4.1 out of 5 on Google Play Store. Dragon Village is free to download and play on Android devices and does not require an internet connection. You can also get it on the Apple App Store.
The gameplay in Dragon Village starts with a tutorial, in which you learn that your goal is to construct a magnificent city and breed different kinds of dragons. In the tutorial, you also learn how to properly construct buildings and battle your dragons. For starters, you will need to construct houses for your villagers. After that, you can grow food on your farms, in order to be able to feed your dragons and evolve them.
Each of your dragons in Dragon Village require their own habitats, which you can purchase and construct on your land. There are many different types of dragons, which also means that they all need a different type of habitat. For example, if you are breeding a fire dragon, you will need to construct a fire habitat for him, or else he will not feel at home and you will not be able to place him in a different type of habitat. Once you have placed your dragon in his habitat, you will be able to take care of him, feed him and level him up. You can also breed dragons or crossbreed them. When you crossbreed dragons, you will end up with a different kind of baby dragon, which is fun for people who like to explore new dragon types.
By feeding your dragons, you make them level up, which also makes them stronger. When you feel like your dragon is strong enough, you can initiate a dragon battle and use your dragons to beat other dragons. There are many different dragon elements. For example, a fire dragon is weak against a water dragon. You will have to choose wisely when you start a battle, if you want to have an advantage over your enemies.
Dragon Village In-game store
There are two kinds of currencies in Dragon Village. The first currency is in the form of gold coins, which you can easily obtain by playing the game, completing quests and taking care of your villagers and dragons. The second currency is in the form of in-game bucks and are considered premium, due to the fact that they are very difficult to obtain by playing the game. You can use gold coins to purchase items in the in-game store. You can use premium bucks to instantly finish an action, such as constructing a building, breeding a dragon and collecting dragon eggs without having to wait for them to be ready.
There are six different categories in the in-game store. The first category is called Habitats, in which you can purchase and construct different kinds of habitats for your dragons. The kind of habitat that you purchase and construct depends on type of element that your dragon consists of. The second category is called Dragons and in this category you can purchase different kinds of dragons. The third category is called Buildings, in which you can purchase different kinds of buildings necessary to expand your city. The forth category is called Décor and in this category you can purchase different kinds of plants and towers, and make your city look more fancy. The fifth category is called Dragon Book, in which you can see all the different dragons that you have discovered and that you currently own.
The sixth and last category is called Resource, in which you can purchase gold coins, premium bucks and food with real money. The price for gold coins starts at $0,99 for the smallest amount of 75.000 gold coins and goes up till $19,99 for the largest amount of 5.000.000 gold coins. The price for premium bucks starts at $1,99 for the smallest amount of 30 premium bucks and goes up till $99,99 for the largest amount of 3000 premium bucks. The price for food varies between $0,99 for the smallest amount of 10.000 food up till $19,99 for the largest amount of 500.000 food. There are a lot of websites on the internet that claim they have working cheat tools, hack tools or mods for Dragon Village, which you can allegedly use to give yourself an unlimited amount of in-game coins, bucks and food. Of course, it sounds too good to be true, because it really is and I will prove it. The owners of the websites that offer cheat tools for mobile games are only out to earn money and they do this by tricking unknowing people. Before you can start downloading the so called cheat tools, you will need to fill in a survey. Every survey that gets filled in, generates an income for the owners of those websites. Usually, the websites that offer such tools are professionally designed, just to make people feel comfortable when they are asked to fill in a survey, before they can start downloading the so called cheat tools.
For the sake of this review, I decided to try out a cheat tool for Dragon Village. I went on one of the websites that offered a cheat tool for Dragon Village and clicked on the download button which redirected me to a download website. On the download website, I needed to fill in a survey, after which my download automatically started. The download came in the form of a RAR folder, so I scanned it with a virus scanner and tried to unpack it. When I clicked on the unpack button, I received a lot of error messages, stating that the RAR folder is corrupted. This has been done on purpose by the owners of the fake cheat tool websites, because there are no real cheat tools for mobile games. Instead of wasting your time trying to find working cheats for Dragon Village, I will give you some tips and tricks that will help you with your gameplay.
Dragon Village Gameplay Tips and Tricks
The first piece of advice I would like to give you all is to not use your premium bucks during the tutorial of Dragon Village. You will be asked multiple times to use your premium bucks, but you can just wait out the timer instead. This way, you will be able to save your premium bucks and use them later on in the game. Premium bucks are very difficult to come by, especially if you are not willing to spend money on Dragon Village.
You can also easily use the time-lapse cheat in Dragon Village, due to the fact that you do not need an internet connection in order to play the game. The time-lapse cheat entails that you forward the time on your mobile device, in order to trick Dragon Village into believing that a certain amount of time has already passed by. Before you start using the time-lapse cheat, you need to make sure to start a couple of actions. For example, you could start the construction of a couple of buildings and start breeding dragons. After that, you can close down Dragon Village and forward the time on your mobile device. Once you start Dragon Village again, you will notice that your actions are already completed. When you are done playing Dragon Village, you should not forget to set the time on your mobile device back to its correct state.
Before I started playing Dragon Village, I had a vague idea how the gameplay would be. Fortunately, I enjoy playing city builder games and Dragon Village is just that, but with a twist. Your goal is to breed dragons, level them up by feeding them and then go to battle, to find out which dragon is the strongest. I really like the fact that the gameplay starts with a tutorial, which you need to finish in order to be able to continue playing Dragon Village. In the tutorial, you will learn how to properly play the game, how to construct houses and dragon habitats, how to breed dragons, battle dragons and feed dragons. A tutorial is very important for casual mobile gamers, because they can easily get confused by all the features in the game.
Another very positive aspect about Dragon Village is that the developers did not implement any kind of advertisements into the game. Normally, it is understandable that free-to-play games have advertisements in them, because the developers need to earn some money for their time and effort. However, many developers go overboard when it comes to advertisements, which makes their games unplayable. Luckily, this is not the case with Dragon Village, and you can play the game without getting annoyed or obstructed by any kind of advertisement.
Unfortunately, Dragon Village also has several negative aspects. For starters, I have experienced a lot of glitches while I was playing Dragon Village. For example, when you go into the in-game store to purchase different dragons or buildings, the game freezes up most of the time. This is very annoying because it means that you have to restart the game, in order to be able to continue playing. Occasionally, the screen also does not react anymore while you are playing Dragon Village. This means that no matter how often you try to touch a certain object in the game, the game will not respond to it. I believe that the developers should look into fixing the bugs in Dragon Village, because I know that it will make a lot of players happier.
The second negative aspect about Dragon Village is that the game becomes very slow paced, especially once you have progressed through the game a bit. Every time you start constructing a building, breeding dragons or collecting a dragon egg, you will have to wait for the timer to run out. At the beginning of the gameplay, the timer is only set to a few minutes, but the more you progress through the game, the longer the timers become. At one point, you will find yourself waiting for hours, just to be able to continue playing the game. Of course, you can use premium bucks to instantly finish an action, but the problem with that is that not everyone can afford to spend money on a free-to-play game. I believe the developers should make it easier to earn premium bucks by playing the game, because right now the game feels like a cheap cash grab.
Dragon Village Ratings
Artwork: I give Dragon Village a 7/10 for its artwork. The graphics in Dragon Village are pretty decent, especially considering that it is a mobile game. There are not many unique things about the graphics, but the developers have made it work well. There are a lot of animations in the game, which makes the game feel more alive. For example, I really like the fact that you can zoom in and look at your villagers walking around and your dragons moving around. Dragon Village also has some nice special effects during the dragon battles, which are similar to the special effects in a Pokémon game. The developers did a very good job at combining the graphics, animations and special effects together, making Dragon Village a very balanced game.
Music & SFX: I give Dragon Village a 7/10 for its music and SFX. There are several different soundtracks in Dragon Village, which are of decent quality. I really like the fact that the soundtracks change, depending on where you are in the game. Dragon Village also has several sound effects, from menu button SFX to dragon battle SFX. Having so many sound effects makes the game more entertaining, in my opinion. Both the soundtracks and sound effects are easy on the ears, which mean that they will most likely not bother anyone during their gameplay.
Story & Originality: I give Dragon Village a 7/10 for its story and originality. I have played a lot of mobile games over the years, both on Android and iOS devices and I have to say that Dragon Village is far from original. There are many games that have the same game concept, game ideas and mechanics. Luckily, Dragon Village has several features that I have never seen before in any mobile games. For example, you can start a battle using your own dragons and fight against other dragons. There is no real story behind the game, other than what the tutorial guide tells you during the tutorial, at the beginning of the gameplay.
General Gameplay: I give Dragon Village a 6/10 for general gameplay. The gameplay in Dragon Village starts with a nice tutorial, in which you learn the basics of the game, how to breed dragon, construct buildings and how to properly play the game. Once the tutorial is over, you will be able to explore more options in the game and you will also be able to take on quests and earn rewards. After a while, the gameplay in Dragon Village becomes pretty straightforward, but thankfully there is a lot of things to do, which keeps the gameplay entertaining. The controls are alright, but sometimes they are not responsive, which is really unfortunate. The user interface is pretty simplistic but it gets the job done and fits the overall theme of the game.
Addictiveness: I give Dragon Village a 7/10 for addictiveness. If you enjoy city builder games and you are enthusiastic about dragons, than Dragon Village might be very addictive for you. Unfortunately, I really dislike the fact that there are waiting times in the game, which make you wait for your actions to be completed. The worst part about the waiting times is that they become longer, the more you progress through the game. This really slows down the pace of the game and makes the game feel like a cheap cash grab, in my opinion. The developers of Dragon Village should know that not everyone is able to spend money on a free-to-play game, and consider implementing a better reward system, where players can earn premium bucks.
All things considered, I give Dragon Village a 7/10.
