The graphics are in 3D, which really makes the puppies and the environment pop out. There are a lot of very nice animations in Puppy Love – My Dream Pet, which enhances the gameplay and make the game feel more realistic. I really like the fact that the puppies in the game behave like real puppies. They move around a lot and try to get your attention, which makes the gameplay more entertaining. I feel like the developers have done a very good job at combining the graphics with the animations of the game.
Music & SFX: I give Puppy Love – My Dream Pet a 7/10 for its music and SFX. There is only one soundtrack in Puppy Love – My Dream Pet, which plays continuously in a loop. The soundtrack is of decent quality, and even though it is easy on the ears, it can still get pretty annoying to keep listening to the same soundtrack over and over again. There are several different sound effects in Puppy Love – My Dream Pet, which range from button SFX to feeding your puppy SFX. The sound effects make the gameplay more entertaining, and luckily, they are not as annoying as the soundtrack of the game. It would have been nice if the developers implemented several more soundtracks into the game, because that would have made the gameplay more fun.
Story & Originality: I give Puppy Love – My Dream Pet a 7/10 for its story and originality. There are probably a lot of games on both Google Play Store and iOS App Store, where you have to take care of a puppy, or any other kind of pet. Luckily, the developers of Puppy Love – My Dream Pet have implemented several of their own original features into the game, which made the game pretty original in my book. There is no story in Puppy Love – My Dream Pet, but a game like this does not need one. It is easy to make up your own story, while you play the game.
General Gameplay: I give Puppy Love – My Dream Pet a 6/10 for general gameplay. At the beginning of the gameplay in Puppy Love – My Dream Pet, there is a small tutorial, in which you will learn how to take care of your puppy, how to feed him, how to clean him and how to keep him healthy. Once the tutorial is over, the gameplay becomes pretty straightforward. Even though there are a lot of features in the game to explore, it is unfortunate that most of them are locked and you have to spend money on the game to unlock them. Because of this, I could not experience the full game, which makes it difficult for me to rate the general gameplay.
Addictiveness: I give Puppy Love – My Dream Pet a 3/10 for addictiveness. Puppy Love – My Dream Pet is definitely not addictive, especially because of the fact that the game is littered with annoying and obstructive advertisements. Next to all of those advertisements, the developers have the audacity to lock many of the features in the game. This means that you have to spend a lot of money on a free-to-play game, just to be able to experience it fully and to remove all those annoying and obstructive advertisements. The developers should know that there are people who do not want to, or cannot spend any money on a free-to-play mobile game. The developers should fix this, if they want to make their game more addictive.
