Evolution isn’t always fair, especially not in the world of Disaster Will Strike 3. Animals and plants have lived in peace for countless years, up until the day evil dinosaurs appeared. They respect nothing and will eat all other animals and destroy the plantlife, if you don’t do something against it! Use the powers of nature: earthquakes, landslides and floods to crack and take out the evil dino eggs, and save the world!

The whole idea of the game is to destroy all of the eggs on each level, just by using a limited number of disasters available. There are overall 8 disasters, which will procedurally unlock as you progress in the game, but at first you only get a few to play with. The first four powers include the Earthquake, which shakes the ground, moving unsecured things around, potentially breaking them.
Another earth related power is the Landslide, a disaster that will make a part of the ground disappear, allowing eggs or other objects to fall down. Then you have the Wind, which will move every light object and egg in a direction for a few seconds, or until turned off. The Flood works similarly, by moving every light object and egg upwards until the waterline, drowning eggs in the process, if they stay underwater for a few seconds.
Eggs will usually either be in tricky spots, so it’s harder to destroy them, or they will be hidden below blocks, glass or rocks, which might be used to crush them. Each level is different, but using the available disasters in a smart way will almost always guarantee success. Thoughtlessly wasting every disaster will just hinder progress though, as disaster uses are limited, indicated by the numbers on the top left corner of the screen.
For high replayability purposes, Disaster Will Strike 3 has a layered level system. It basically means that each level can be completed three times, using three different sets of disasters. At first you can only complete levels with the first set available, which will award you with one star, but once you unlock new powers, you will be able to go back to earlier levels and gather one or two extra stars for it.
For example, a level might ask you to destroy three eggs with an Earthquake and Wind only, but the secondary challenge might ask you to use Wind, Landslide and the agressive Bee Swarm. Meanwhile, the third challenge could be even trickier, asking you to use the destructive Meteorite, Flood and the highly toxic Epidemic disaster.
Finishing all three layers of a level will award you with extra points, added to your total score and getting you closer to full three star completion. Your score also increases based on how fast you complete the level. Once you get a high enough total score, you can submit it online and compare yourself against other players!
As in most puzzle games, Disaster Will Strike 3 also has countless tricky levels, where cheats might be used to bypass obstacles. If you are interested in learning more about these options for cheats, or just want to read a few tips, then you are in the right place!
The first way to cheat your way towards the highest scores possible is by perfecting each level, before actually finishing it. You can watch your score live in the top right corner of the screen, as it counts down once you activated your first disaster. If you think you messed something up, or couldn’t finish the level perfectly, then just restart and try a new strategy.
Some levels can be finished in multiple ways, but most have one solution, where only speed can get you a better score. If you have the perfect timing and order of disasters, then complete the level and your perfect score will be recorded!
Something you should probably note is that each disaster can be selected before use, which will help and highlight the possible places where they can be used. Landslide for example can only be used on straight surfaces, while Epidemic or Bee Swarm has to target an individual egg.
As for a more general tip in Disaster Will Strike 3, should you be stuck on a level for too long, you can skip it at any time and move onto the next one in the same zone on the map. Don’t forget though, that you will have to complete all levels in a zone at least once to unlock the next zone.
Before becoming familiar with Disaster Will Strike games, I thought they will be Angry Birds clones, but it’s not even close, except for the visuals. The gameplay in this is more similar to games where you have to destroy a carefully placed pile of objects, by exploding chosen parts.
I soon realized the difference, after playing a few levels of Disaster Will Strike 3. In most levels, the game allows the use of multiple disasters, which act similar to godly powers or skills to manipulate the level. I found the Meteorite and the Epidemic to be the most fun disasters, but the Bee Swarm was also an amusing one, especially when the bees were bumping into every object on the level.
It was pretty easy to get used to the powers, and I soon thought myself to be a pro at it, but that’s when I realized that each level has two or three alternative solutions with different disasters! This was a positive realization though, as this added not only a small, but a huge replay value to the game, in a lazy, but fun way. The developers didn’t have to create 100 new levels, instead they had to only make sure that two or three different set of powers will work out in finishing the same level.
I found most levels to be well designed, with clear goals for the most part, and some thinking required to finish it in time with high scores. I can certainly recommend Disaster Will Strike 3 to any puzzle fanatic, especially as it will take quite a long time to complete around 130-150 levels worth of challenges!
Ratings
Artwork: The artwork of Disaster Will Strike 3 gets an 8/10 from me. The artwork of this game reminds me a lot of Angry Birds, as it uses a fairly similar set of assets, and a similar lighting on each level. That being said, the design works pretty well, especially the eggs with their mean smiles when they survive disasters, almost making fun of the player. Backgrounds are also varied enough to make new levels feel fresh for a long time.
Music & SFX: The music and SFX of this game deserves an 8/10 as well. Disaster Will Strike 3 features five different songs over the course of the game: one for the main menu, and four different tracks for the various zones you can reach, adding some extra to the mood of the quiet night levels or the busy desert levels. The SFX are quite good as well, and the noises of the eggs make them even more annoying than they already are, which is exactly what their job is!
Story & Originality: As for the story and originality of this title, it gets a 6/10. As mentioned before, story is not the strong point of these games, especially as the evil dinosaur thing doesn’t really make as much sense as it was probably meant to. Regarding its originality, the gameplay is nothing new either, but it’s presented in a pretty funny way, so it can get away with it.
General Gameplay: I give the general gameplay of Disaster Will Strike 3 an 8/10. For the most part, the game plays well and can be interacted with in a simple manner, using a few clicks per level, providing a chill experience. Most levels’ difficulty is perfect, as in not too hard and not too easy either, which is a plus for a puzzle game. The layered level system is also something quite genius, as this way the levels essentially triple for hardcore players, even though it numerically remains the same, and more casual players can finish it earlier.
Addictiveness: The addictiveness of the game gets a 7/10. The 50 levels might not seem like much, but considering the fact that each level has two or three layers, aka challenges, there is always something to do. Then once you are done with the game, there are prequels, sequels, as well as the various spin-off titles!
Overall Score: 7/10.
