How to get every Mega Evolution in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

Remember how, in Pokemon X and Y, you could temporarily boost a Pokemon past its final stage into an awesome Mega Evolution?

Well, the same is true in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. You just need a Mega Bracelet and a compatible Pokemon that's holding an appropriate Mega Stone.

Then, once per battle, a single Pokémon for each trainer can Mega Evolve. That boosted Pokemon has new base stats and can have a different ability or even type from its previous form.

For this list we're going to tell you all you need to know about the new Mega Evolutions, including what their new ability does and where you can find their Mega Stone. And we'll cap it off with the stone locations for the old Mega Evolutions.

New Mega Evolutions

Mega Beedrill

Mega Beedrill

Mega Beedrill has the ability Adaptability, which boosts the power of attacks that are the same type as the critter (in this case, bug and poison). You can find the necessary Beedrillite in the storage section of the Sea Mauville.

Mega Pidgeot

Mega Pidgeot

Mega Pidgeot uses No Guard, which massively boosts your accuracy. You'll need Pidgeotite, so go to Rustboro City and show Mr. Stone the Intriguing Stone (which you get after giving a Shroomish to the girl in Verdanturf Town).

Mega Slowbro

Mega Slowbro

Mega Slowbro is protected from critical hits by its Shell Armor ability. You'll need Slowbronite which is yours after you give the man in the Shoal Cave four Shoal Salts and four Shoal Shells.

Mega Steelix

Mega Steelix

Mega Steelix uses Sand Force which increases your power during a sandstorm. The required Steelixite can be found in the lower levels of the Granite Cave.

Mega Sceptile

Mega Sceptile

Mega Sceptile has the Lightningrod ability which means electric attacks do no damage and you get a special attack boost to boot. The Sceptilite stone is found on Route 120 if you chose Treecko at the start - otherwise you'll have to buy it from the salesman on Route 114.

Mega Swampert

Mega Swampert

Mega Swampert has Swift Swim which boosts your speed in rain. As above, Swampertite is on Route 120 if you started with Mudkip, or Route 114 if you didn't.

Mega Sableye

Mega Sableye

Mega Sableye gets a big ass diamond and the Magic Bounce ability which reflects non-physical attacks back at the enemy. The Sablenite stone can be found in Sootopolis City, near the bridge to the Cave of Origin.

Mega Sharpedo

Mega Sharpedo

Mega Sharpedo uses the ability Strong Jaw which powers up biting moves. The Sharpedonite is found in the Team Aqua Hideout during the Delta Episode in Alpha Sapphire, or in the Battle Resort when playing Omega Ruby.

Mega Camerupt

Mega Camerupt

Mega Camerupt has Sheer Force where attacks are boosted in power but they have no secondary effects (in Camerupt's case, that's probably burning). Opposite to above, the Cameruptite is in the Magma Hideout during the Delta Episode for Omega Ruby players, but at the Battle Resort in Alpha Sapphire.

Mega Altaria

Mega Altaria

Mega Altaria gains the rare Fairy ability Pixilate where normal moves are powered up and turned into Fairy type attacks. To get Altarianite, go to Lilycove City and show an Altaria to the collector.

Mega Glalie

Mega Glalie

Mega Glalie sports the super rare Refrigerate ability where normal moves become ice attacks. You'll find the Glalitite in the lower area of the Shoal Cave, in the ice cavern.

Mega Salamence

Mega Salamence

Mega Salamence has a similar ability to the two above - Aerilate makes normal moves become flying moves. You'll need Salamencite for this Mega Evolution, which comes from Zinnia's Grandmother in Meteor Falls (after the Delta Episode).

Mega Metagross

Mega Metagross

Mega Metagross changes his ability to Tough Claws, which powers up any move that makes physical contact. To get Metagrossite, return to the Pokemon League and challenge Steven to a rematch.

Mega Latias

Mega Latias

Mega Latias gets Levitate, which renders ground-based attacks useless. That Latiasite stone comes with the Pokemon in Alpha Sapphire, but you can get the stone from your mum in Omega Ruby.

Mega Latios

Mega Latios

Mega Latios is the other way around. The Latiosite is on Latios in Omega Ruby, but Alpha Sapphire will need to travel home to Littleroot Town and get the stone from their mum. As above, this Mega Evolution gets the ability Levitate.

Mega Rayquaza

Mega Rayquaza

Mega Rayquaza has the Delta Stream ability, which makes the battlefield windy and is currently exclusive to this legendary critter. Rayquaza doesn't need a Mega Stone to Mega Evolve, it just needs to know the move Dragon Ascent.

Mega Lopunny

Mega Lopunny

Mega Lopunny has the ability Scrappy which makes physical attacks effective against ghost type 'mons. You'll need Lopunnite, which comes from a man in a suit in Mauville Hills, in front of apartment 12. You'll need to have beaten up Groudon or Kyogre first.

Mega Gallade

Mega Gallade

Mega Gallade sports Inner Focus which protects you from flinching. The Galladite stone you need comes from Professor Cozmo following the Delta Episode epilogue.

Mega Audino

Mega Audino

Mega Audino has the ability Healer which occasionally heals your team mate's status effects. You'll find the Audinite at the Battle Resort. Just talk to the Looker.

Mega Diancie

Mega Diancie

Finally, Mega Diancie has Magic Bounce which reflects non-physical attacks back at the enemy. The Diancite you need can be picked up at any Pokemon Center after you receive Diancie.
