The Room 3 is here. Mobile gaming's premiere box-stroking puzzle game finally has a third installment, and it's a beauty. It's big, bold, and full of keys to fondle in your fingers.
It can also be quite tricky, with complicated puzzles that require more than a few brain cells to work out. So, with that in mind, we've put together a complete walkthrough to the game to help you out.
Don't say we never do anything nice for you.
This guide will help you tackle chapter four, which takes place in a workshop. We need to open a giant pyramid box by forging keys, making handles, and turning cogs. Put your overalls on, it's gonna get messy.
Return to the main room and pop your pyramid on the table. Take the optical device that appears out of the goop
Place the optical device on the door here. Then move the mirrors to angle the beam into the gem at the centre, like shown above. Then enter the open door.
Check out the power board on the wall. You know how to do this by now: make a power connection by linking positive terminals to negative ones. The exact placement of the metal beams can be seen above.
Flick the big power switch. Then find this box and flick the four small switches. Press the button on the front of the box.
Here, move the bottom slider in time with the top one until the green waveform matches the black one. This will cause a light to turn on in the background, and a door to appear. Let's head inside…
Take this leather case from the table. Look at it, pull out the pin on the right, then open it up and take the kindling from inside.
Press this button on the front of the box. Take the flint from inside.
Check out this panel, and take the key from the hook.
Check out the trap door over here. Flick open the latch on the padlock, and then unlock it with your small key. Remove the metal rod to add it to your inventory. Open the trap door.
Pull the handle back, then move the wooden door to make the water flow to the left. This will cause the waterwheel to start turning.
On the left side of the weird pyramid box, and the bottom, are two tiny gold latches. Open them up and a drawer will pull out.
Okay, we need to move the upper red gems to the right, and the upper blue gems to the left. The way to do this is to tap on them, and we've got one of the possible solutions above. If you mess it up, hit the central button to reset the puzzle.
Take the metal casting that appears.
Pop the metal casting in this panel at the front of the box. Move the handle along the path and to the lightbulb. A gear will move up and make something happen in the room to the left.
Look at this panel again. Place the metal rod in the right hole. Move handle 2 to the left, once. Then move handle 1 down, once. This will drop the sack onto a pressure sensitive tile, and make the top lock on the wooden door recede.
Go look at that lock. There's a metal ring to the right of it. Flick it to the left and the lock will no longer close itself when you lift the sandbag back up.
Return to this panel. Move handle 1 up. Move handle 2 down. Move handle 1 down. This will drop the bag onto the other plate on the floor, and the wooden door will now open. Head inside.
Look at this panel, which is to the right of you when you enter the door. Unlock it, and open it. Then return to the sand bag controls.
Move lever 1 up. Move lever 2 up, then to the right, then up. Then move lever 2 down. This will send the sandbag into the back room. Go back into that room.
Lift the saw blade up using the handle under the desk. This will slash open the bag, revealing a metal bar. Take it and return to the main room.
Over at the forge, open this small compartment and put the kindling in. Then close it. Put the flint on top of the dial. Then spin it in circles until the camera moves up, and shows you that the forge is now on.
Look at these dials and spin them to make the pattern shown above. It's to make a key for the first keyhole on the pyramid.
Open this tray and pop the metal bar on it. Close the tray and then look at the bellows. Pump them until the meter goes into the red, and then… hey presto! The forge will pump out a key. Fish it out of the water.
(If you accidentally made the wrong key, just repeat the steps above but use the key instead of the metal bar).
Use the key in the bottom layer of the pyramid box. A weird thing will appear. Move the disc to the left, and look at the left side of the box to get…
A small connector! Then move that disc to the right, and look at the right side of the box to get…
A hollowed-out metal block!
Find this panel on the right side of the pyramid box. Place the connector on these two metal shapes. Then spin the dial at the bottom until it pops out. Take the mechanical disk.
This puzzle will appear. Move block 1 up, and then block 2 to the left. Move block 3 down, and block 1 to the right. Your board should look like…
This! Move 5 down and 4 to the left. Move 1 up. Move 3 up and 2 to the right. Move 5 down, 3 to the left, and 2 up. Now you've got…
Finally, just move everything in a big clockwise circle - starting by moving 2 down, then 1 down, the 4 to the left, 3 up, 5 up, and 2 to the left and 1 down and to the left. Take the metal casting.
Place the metal casting on the panel at the front of the box, and move the handle along to the second lightbulb.
Look at this mechanical disk and spin it until it turns into a cog.
Attach it to the gear here. Take the belt that appears on the ground and use it to connect the two pulleys and turn on the milling machine.
Take the chess piece here, and the one on the desk to the right, too.
Pop the two chess pieces into the two holes on the left side of the box.
Look through the magic panel with your piece. Move the water wheel to the left using the handle. Then spin it around so the hole in the wheel matches the opening on the house. This will make the wheel complete, and start to spin.
Move the wheel to the right using the handle. Then move the right gear into the up position.
Press the button on the roof. Then slide the switch on the inner roof.
Press the button on the back of this small lens to turn it on.
Spin this lens into this position.
And spin this one into this position. The camera will be taken to a button on the back of the final lens. Press it to make a keyhole appear.
Over at the forge, pop the hollowed-out block into the bottom space. Then spin the other dials like above. Then throw the old key in the tray and pump the bellows like before to make a new key.
Place the key in this keyhole and turn it.
Use your eyepiece to see a weird box. Your goal is to spin the box (using the two dials at the front) to line up one coloured indentation with the gem of the same colour. Then, tap the gem to make it recede into the indentation.
It's a little tricky, but just work on one at a time and think about how spinning the box will affect the placement of the indentation. You'll get it.
When all three are done, take the red gem.
Place the gem here.
Now, use the forge to make the key shown here (you know the drill - spin the dials, use the old key as your material, pump the bellows) and come back to unlock the final key hole.
Use your eyepiece to look inside the hole.
Our goal is to line up all four red dots on the same arm - and that arm must be at the bottom, in the wooden frame.
The left button changes which sections will move (shown by the bars lighting up) and the right, green button will move the arms.
Select the left gear and press the green button three times so the two inner red gems are in the right place. Then select the right gear and spin it until the third red dot is in place.
Finally, select the middle gear position, and press the green button until the outer red dot is in place. You'll be given a new part of the box.
Take this metal casting. Use it on the front panel like all the others. Go through the door that is now open.
Break the wooden handle off the pulleys on the right. Take the wooden beam on the left and go to the room with the saw blade.
Place the wooden beam into this holder, and slide the whole thing to the left. Lift the saw blade to cut the beam. Take the small piece of wood.
On the other side of this room, place the small piece of wood in the milling machine. Take the lathed piece of wood.
Back in the other room, replace the broken handle. Then spin the machine up.
Use your eyepiece to look at this piece of paper. Now spin the three dials on the arm to match the ones on the wooden arm in the main room. Take the camshaft.
Place the camshaft in the arm. Move the small lever to the notch shown above. Spin the dial until the mechanical finger retract. Take the key.
Use the key on this metal bar, and unlock it.
Look at the key and spin the dial to have all four holes on the same side.
Use it to unlock this bar.
Look at the key again and spin the end to this position.
Use it to unlock this final latch. Take the pyramid from inside to finish the chapter.
