War of Ages Cheats: Tips, Tricks & Strategy Guide

In the Middle Ages, war was inevitable. People lived in constant fear as war was all they knew. You were once a war hero, but now you have been made Lord. You must now bring order and unity to your nation in War of Ages. War of Ages is a city management game where you construct a reputable city and fight off other lords who try to go against you. We’ll help you become the best Lord there was with our War of Ages cheats, tips and tricks strategy guide.

It’s a long road ahead of you, but have no fear as our War of Ages cheats and tips guide will help you throughout your journey.

1. Follow the quests!

If you tap the big exclamation mark button at the top right, it’ll show your most recent quest. Like a lot of other city management games, these quests take down the main progression line so you should always be working towards them. The quests have really good rewards too!

2. Keep your Town Hall upgraded!

Your Town Hall is your center of operations. It’s very important to keep it upgraded as each upgrade speeds up overall construction speed, meaning your buildings will upgrade faster. You also need the Town Hall to be the same level as the kind of building you want to upgrade; for example, if your Town Hall is only level 2, you won’t be able to upgrade any of your buildings past level 2.

3. Upgrade your Warehouse!

Resources are the name of the game here: if you notice, you’ll probably be somewhere in the 10k range for all of your resources. The costs for building and recruiting new troops starts low, but before you know it, you’ll be spending those resources like nothing. Make sure to keep your warehouse upgraded so that your maximum storage capacity goes up. You don’t want any of your hard earned resources to go to waste!

4. Collect your free rewards!

There are four button at the top left. These are your free rewards!

  • The chest is your free reward. It’s a chest full of random resources and goodies, and you can open it every half hour.
  • The present is the seven day bonus. If you log in for seven days consecutively, you can open a chest each day, with the rewards getting progressively better. If you miss a day, this’ll reset though, so be careful!
  • The paper and feather is your sign in bonus. This works exactly like the seven day bonus, except this only goes up to five days.
  • The star is your daily quests. Tapping it will bring up a list of daily things for you to do, with each one rewarding you with points. The more points you get, the higher your daily rank will be, and the rewards will be better!

Don’t forget to collect these.

5. Recruit a balanced team!

Before you can start fighting the enemy forces, you have to recruit troops. You do this by building a barracks, which requires a level 2 Academy to build. If you follow the quests like I mentioned, you should naturally over time get to this point. In the barracks, you can recruit all sorts of troops and artillery. I like to get a couple of each kind of unit, so that my army is balanced. You can also check how much food and space a unit needs before you recruit them, so be sure your resources can handle it. In order to recruit the better troops, you need to keep upgrading your barracks and academy.

6. Research in the Academy!

The Academy holds many tech research options. These tech upgrades are passive upgrades to your troops, and they are categorized as a different building queue option so they won’t take up your building slots! You should research as much as you can as often as you can. The first thing you’ll probably research is the Scouting option, which increases the chances of your scouts reporting back with useful information. There are other bonuses like armor upgrades, attack upgrades, and so forth. Keep researching!

7. Always keep your queues busy!

You have four construction queues: building, train, tech, and wilds. Building queues are activate whenever you construct a new building or upgrade an existing one. Training queues activate when you’re recruiting new troops. Tech queues, as mentioned above, activate when you’re researching new tech upgrades. Wilds you won’t have to worry about since you don’t get that until much later. You should always have something running in each category to make sure your city is as efficient as possible.

To summarize, you should always be doing the main quests. Keep your buildings upgraded and you’ll become the best Lord there is in no time! If you have any other questions or suggestions, leave a comment below!
