Welcome to the nightmare of Silent Hill. In this guide you will find everything you need not only to complete this game, but also to find all secret items and achievements. This walkthrough was prepared for both Xbox 360 and PC users. You will also find the info needed to collect all 1000 achievements points.

Silent Hill fights differ in many ways from what we could see in former parts of the series. They're more dynamic and arcade. During a fight we can perform a dodging move and to inflict two kinds of attacks: slow but powerful stab (right mouse button or gamepad's X) or fast but not as strong slash (left mouse button or A). If you press the button for a longer time you can inflict more serious damage. You can train that skill while attacking with the element of surprise on your side.
If you want to use a gun, try to save some ammo - in this part of the series ammunition is a rare luxury (especially when it comes to shotgun). You will find detailed advice about destroying specific monsters when you encounter the first representative of a given type.
Operating Theatre
Start with freeing yourself by rapidly pressing left mouse button/A, then turn on the flashlight with F/d-pad up. There is nothing interesting in this room besides the doctor's note on the left side of the door.
Leave this room.
Operating Room
You can see bloody track on the floor - follow it to the next room.
Corridor
There is a note hanging on the wall on your right. You should notice a keypad on the right side of the door. Leave this place through the door near bars.
Nurse Center
There is a roentgen photo on the right. Look at it and you will see the first part of a code (654) - now to find the second part. Take the Hospital's Map from the board and try to use it with Tab/Y.
There is also a note on the table.
Leave this room through the south door and go to room 203 (next to last door in the corridor).
Room 203
Take the Health Drink from the table on the left and read the note (incident report).
There is a doll in the middle incubator - look at her.
Go through the broken window to the room 204.
Room 204
Take the X-Ray Film from the Wall. There's a Basic Weapon Combat guide on the table . Read it and return to the Nurse Center.
Nurse Center
Approach the photo on the wall, open inventory and use the X-Ray Film. The code is 624872. Enter the corridor.
Corridor
Approach the keypad and enter the code. After a short cutscene take Child's Drawing #1 from the floor.
Follow Joshua to the restroom and enter the storage room.
There is a save point here.
Enter women's restroom.
Women's Restroom
Take the Combat Knife from beside the mirror and watch the cutscene.
Women's Restroom
A nurse will leave the toilet - she's attracted to light so turn off your flashlight. Kill her with fast attacks (LMB/A) or one strong stab (RMB/X). You can use powerful strike - simply by holding RMB/X. If you just wait in the darkness she should stop moving after a while - that's a good moment to knock her out.
Xbox 360: You will receive Alchemilla's Finest achievement (10 p.).
Now go to the Men's Restroom. To get there, squeeze through a crack in the wall, near the place the nurse came from.
Men's Restroom
Take the First Aid Kit from the wall to the left of the door. Leave the restroom and enter the corridor. Unfortunately, all doors are locked except the exit to the south. There is a note in this room which describes survival methods: simply don't use your flashlight when monsters are near and try to move quietly.
Currently you're on the second floor, so go upstairs to the next floor. Turn off a flashlight and enter the Day Room through the window.
Day Room
Break the glass and go inside. You should notice a nurse - perform a stunning blow, and try to kill her as fast as possible because there is another nurse lurking in the darkness. Use an effective combo of 3 x LMB/A + RMB/X.
Walk to the western wall and cut through the skin.
You're in a room 303 now.
There is savepoint on the wall and a note on the bed.
Exit the north door of the room. Go along the corridor to the Linen Room. In the halfway you will be attacked by a new enemy - a Swarm. Use Shift/LT with LMB/A combination to crush all bugs.
Xbox 360: you will receive Creeper Reaper achievement (10 p.).
Enter Linen Room.
Linen Room
Take a Health Drink off the shelf.
Leave this room through a western door.
Go south to the end of the corridor and take Photo #1.
Return to the north end of the corridor and go through the door.
Xbox 360: You will receive the Sightseeing achievement (10 pkt.).
Operation Theatre
Walk along the balcony and read the note lying on the shelf. No go to the platform below - at the end you will be able to go down to the Operation Room. Turn off the flashlight!
Operation Theatre
You have to deal with three nurses. Stay away from the group. If you hide in the darkness, nurses will not chase you.
You can't open the big door in the south so cut the skin on the eastern wall and go through it.
Now you're on the stairway. There is the Child's Drawing #2 hanging on the wall near the stairs.
Go to the top and get the Operating Theatre Key from the body. Return to the Operation Theatre and use the key on the padlock.
Operating Room
Take a look at the note and go west to the corridor.
The dialogue will not have any impact on the game so select any answer you like. You will need to find the lost toy anyway. Enter the Nurse Center.
Nurse Center
Save the game.
Take a Healing Potion off the shelf.
There is a note on the desk.
Leave this room through the southern door and go to the room 203.
Room 203
Take Child's Drawing #3 from the wall.
Walk to the hole in the mirror and reach inside. Now quickly press RMB/X which will ensure you get to keep your forearm and recover the toy (Robbie).
Destroy the Swarm and return to Joshua. Give him Robbie.
Take Child's Drawing #4 from the place where Joshua was sitting.
Go to corridor and take another Child's Drawing #5 from the door to room 206.
This is the end of this stage so check if you haven't forgotten anything - this is your last chance to go back.
There is a lift at the end of the corridor. Push the button.
You are on the streets. At this time, there is not much to do and the only place you can go to, besides your home, is the Town Hall. Go there to save your game and take some useful items.
Town Hall
Go straight through doors and take photo #2.
You're not in any danger here so you can freely explore the rooms. If you take the corridor on the right you can find a green suitcase with Serum #1 in one of the rooms. It can completely renew your energy so use it wisely.
Xbox 360: your first Serum will give you an achievement: Kaufmann's Handiwork (10 p.).
In the corridor on the left you will notice a passage blocked by boards. You can't go through it now.
There are two rooms at the end of the corridor - in one of them you will find a savepoint and a Healing Potion on the fireplace. In the second one you will be able to chat with Judge Holloway.
No go to your house. Go upstairs and take look at the pictures. You will notice that last door in the corridor will close when you approach.
Go to the room on the left and take the flashlight from the bed. Now take a look at the collection of bugs.
Move the books to the left until you notice a button. Press it to open a secret room.
Take a Map of Our House.
Get back to the corridor and open the large door.
There's a letter near the toilet - read it.
Enter the bathroom and get Cassette Tape (near mirrors).
Leave the room and go back to the corridor again.
After the talk you'll receive an Old Revolver.
Find a doorway under the stairway and go to the basement. Unfortunately, the whole basement is flooded and, what is even worse, something is lurking under the water.
This "something" is aptly named since it's a Lurker - a monster who likes to lay in wait in water and attack unexpectedly. Kill it with your knife using a fast combo.
Xbox 360: killing a first Lurker will net you Lurk No More achievement (10 p.).
The Basement isn't big so you can't get lost. You have to find Garage Remote (on the pomp). The door near the waterpomp is closed until you get rid of the water.
To get rid of the water you need to turn on the pomp, and to do that, you should fill it with gas.
Go outside the house and open the garage door with Garage Remote. Kill the Lurker and take a Steel Pipe from the bookcase. Set it as weapon. Move deeper into the garage and pry the door open. Take the Empty Gas Can from inside.

To fill the Can go to the park. The only way to get there is through a hole in the wall near garage door.
Kill the Lurker and duck under both holes.
Park
You're safe here, but before you leave take two important things: a photo #3 near the sidle and the Child's Drawing #6 from the wall.
Walk to the gate and pry it open.
Move closer to the truck and kill the Lurker. Use the Empty Gas Can on the fuel tank. Return to the Basement and use the Fuel Can on the pump. Exit through the door.
Backyard
There are two roads here - the first one leads to the cemetery, the second one leads to the house.
Get some things before you leave: there is a Health Drink in the flowerpot near the swing; Photo #4 in the bag hanging on the gate; Child's Drawing #7 on the fence.
Get on the porch and enter the house.
A Kitchen
There is a answering machine near the oven. Use the Cassette Tape found in the parent's bedroom.
Take the Health Drink from the refrigerator.
Go to the next room and read a note near the phone.
Go back to the backyard, open the gate and go to the cemetery.
Go left to until you reach a cemetery. Take the Rose Heights Cemetery Map from the bench.
This cemetery isn't really that big. In fact there are only few important places marked on your map. The first one is East Garden.
East Garden
You should notice a man digging a hole and a big crack in the ground. Prepare a knife and climb down. If fighting isn't your forte, you can always return to the Town Hall to save your game. In any case climb down to fight Ferals - your new enemies. Kill them with a fast knife combo.
Xbox 360: killing a first Feral will give you Eddie's Legacy achievement (10 p.)
Move around - there is a Old Strone Plate on the fountain. Take it, go to the southern part of the crack, and climb up. Take the Health Drink.
Go west toward the row of crypts.
Crypts
You're in the part marked as a Family Crypts North. Go west and behind the first gate you should notice a save point. Go west till the end of the road, turn left and squeeze through the crack.
Now you're in the Family Crypts Mid area.
Go east until you reach a closed gate. There is a Health Drink on the left and hole on the right. Duck under the wall and go east to find another closed gate. Turn left and squeeze through a crack.
Founder's Row
A dog will attack you, so prepare your weapon. The knife is the best choice. Go south and turn left (east) and jump to the hole. Go through the window and climb up.
Founder's Garden
There is a dog in the middle of this garden (it's eating a body) so be careful. Go north and turn east. In the corner you should find a Health Drink.
Go downstairs - you don't need to fight this dog, you can simply go north toward West Garden.
West Garden
Go upstairs and towards the fountain. Take the Strange Stone Plate from the fountain.
Use both parts of the Plate on the gate at the northern part of the garden.
Go north and turn right at the parking lot.
Streets
Go along Main St. to the west until you meet Elle. After the conversation you receive a walkie talkie.
You will find the Child's Drawing #8 behind a billboard. Go west and turn south at the crossroads. Go along River View Road until you notice the road leading to the west. Cross the bridge and go to the door leading to the Junkyard.
Junkyard
Find a hole in the fence and squeeze through. Go along the building to the crack. Squeeze through and enter the building.
After the conversation with Curtis you will receive a MK32 Handgun.
Go behind the counter and take a Pistol Ammunition. Move to the room behind Curtis and take Junkyard Map from the washing machine.
Take a Health Drink from the refrigerator and a Pistol Ammunition from the red oven. Save the game.
Leave this building through the west door.
Go right to reach a hole in the fence. Squeeze through it and watch the dog run in from the right side. You can run and quickly leave the Junkyard or you can kill it with your gun or knife.
Shepherd's Den Streets
Cross the bridge to meet the new enemy - Smog. It's hard to kill him with a hand weapon - you will have to use a gun instead. Shoot at its lungs when it leaves them unprotected.
Xbox 360: For the first Smog killed you will receive Clean the Air achievement (10 p.).
Go back to the cemetery. Be careful when you get to Main St, there is a dog near the building marked as SGPD. There are also some goods near this building: First Aid Kit and Pistol Ammunition.
There is another Feral near the parking lot, kill it and enter the cemetery.
Cemetery
Go back to the East Garden, to the place marked as Barlett Mausoleum. This time, however, is somewhat more difficult than last time you were here.
In the eastern part of Founders Garden you will find Pistol Ammunition. Watch out for a Smog and a dog wandering around.
In Founder's Row area there is another dog and a Smog walking between crypts. Before you enter the mausoleum, you will need to deal with a simple puzzle.
This is the starting position. Your task is to push away all the blocks to let the highlighted one fall freely to the very bottom.
Move the two long blocks on the left side up.
Move the two vertical blocks from right to left.
Move the little block up.
Move the little block from upper to lower right corner.
Move large horizontal blocks from left to right.
Move the little block up.
Move large vertical block left.
Move the latch all the way down.
<br>The Streets of Silent Hill
You are in famous Silent Hill.
Go down the street - past the Grand Hotel with door nailed shut. It's time to find an axe.
Near the building with the faulty neon turn right and kill a Smog. At the end of the road you will notice a crack. Jump down and go to the truck - walk under the car and take the Fire Axe. Return to the hotel, equip an axe, break the boards and go inside.
Grand Hotel - Hall
The hotel is rather dark inside - you need to turn the electricity on. When you enter the corridor, turn right and take the Health Drink. Go to the main hall.
Take the Grand Hotel Map from the wall and go to the western part of the hall. Jump over the elevator shaft and take the Maintenance Key from the red cabinet. Leave the hotel.
Near the entrance to the hotel is a small lane fronted by a clocked door. Use the key you just found. Kill a Smog and enter the alley. Take the Health Drink from the window and take a look at the fusebox. You need to connect all the cables properly.
Proper arrangement of cables look like this:
Go back to the hotel, press the button on the right side of the shaft and enter the elevator. Take Pistol Ammunition from the floor and select 5th floor. You will be attacked by a new type of monster - Needler. Arachnids are quite resistant, but a small head is their weak spot. You can shoot it as soon as one appears or simply kill them with an axe.
Xbox 360: for the killing of the first Needler you will receive To the Point achievement (10 p.).
Leave the lift once it stops between floors.
Move closer to the paintings on the wall, equip the knife and cut it. Squeeze through and take a Photo #5 located on the door behind the painting.
Turn left and go through the hole in the wall to the room 302.
Save the game here.
Move closer to the room 301. After the conversation you will receive a new task. You must provide the person behind the door with a few items from the hotel.
It's time to tour this charming place.
Rooms 303 and 304
In the first room you will see words written on the wall, and in the second one, there is a letter lying on the shelf.
When you reach the debris, turn right and squeeze through the hole. Go through a narrow corridor. You will reach room 307, but there's nothing interesting there.
In Room 308 you will find a letter. Also there are some words on the wall.
You can't enter Room 309 the usual way. Go around and reach it from the eastern side. Notice the hole nailed shut with boards - destroy them with your axe. Go inside and climb on the desk to reach the fourth floor of the hotel.
Grand Hotel 4th floor
You are in Room 408 but you can't go directly to the corridor. Go through the broken wall instead to get Room 406. . There is a letter on the shelf.
A swarm will attack you when you reach the corridor. Remember to turn off the flashlight - there is a nurse nearby. When she comes out - wait in the dark and then quietly knock her out.
You can look through the hole near Room 403.
Room 402
This the only room that you can now enter. Push the wardrobe to open a way to Room 404.
Room 404
Go to the bathroom and get the Alchemilla Postcard from the cabinet. That's one of the three items that the disembodied voice from behind the door wanted.
Go to Room 408 and after a short scene with your old friend get ready to meet a Swarm.
You can go back to Room 301, give back the postcard and save the game. In any case you will need to go to Room 405.
Room 405
There is nothing important here, except for the hole leading to the next room.
Room 407
Leave this room and go to the corridor.
Go to the room 408 and hack the boards near the door. Go through the hole, destroy a Swarm and take the briefcase with serum #2.
In the north-west part of the corridor you will find another entrance blocked with boards. Chop them, jump over the crack and go upstairs to the 5h Floor.
Grand Hotel - 5th Floor
The Needler - a creature you already met in the elevator, will attack you. You can try to shoot off his head but you can also kill him with the axe. Use fast combination of dodge and attack.
After that jump over the hole in the floor and take the Health Drink from the southern part of the lobby.
Room 508
You will be attacked by a Swarm here. You can also read a letter on the shelf.
Room 505
The entrance to this room is blocked by boards - destroy them with the axe. Inside move the wardrobe and enter Room 507.
Room 507
On the bed you will find another item for the voice from behind the door of Room 301. It's a Lakeside Amusement Park Postcard).
Take the Health Drink from the bathroom.
When you go to the west corridor, Needler will attack you. Destroy boards to enter Room 504.
On the bed you will find Pistol Ammunition. Move the wardrobe to find Child's Drawing #9.
There is a hole near the door leading to Room 503 - go through it and climb down to Room 403.
In the bathroom, you will find the last item you need - Toluca Lake Postcard.
You already have all items, so you should head back to the Room 301. You will return the same way you came here. Firstly, climb up to the Room 503. Go to the corridor, kill the Needler and go east toward the staircase. Kill the next creature and go down to the fourth floor.
Turn off the flashlight and quietly knock down the nurse.
Quietly enter the Room 407 and kill another Nurse. Go to the Room 408 and climb down to the third floor. Go to the Room 301 to get Strange Key. Open the Room 306 and jump over the breach.
Restaurant
Take the Pistol Ammunition from the table and save the game. Go south to the closed door, try to return to restaurant and then you will get transferred to the Otherworld. Go to the hall on the south. Talk with the mer.
Sepulcher
This monster has pair of big hands, but someone nice left here some furniture and you can use it as shield. You can fight with the axe or your gun - whatever you like.
Stand behind the wardrobe, wait for his blow, then run to the nearest sack and hit it as much as possible. You need to destroy all sacks.
In his second form Sepulcher will try to catch you so move quickly and don't stop running. Notice that when he's trying to hit you, his hand get's stuck in the floor for a few seconds - use that time to hit it with the axe. When his head falls down to the floor hit it as hard as possible. After 2-3 tries you should be able to perform a finishing move.
Xbox 360: killing Sepulcher will give you Six Feet Under achievement (50 p.)
Look around, wait a while and after a minute a cop should arrive.
After the conversation, follow him and save the game. Follow him to the corridor.
A band of Schisms will attack Wheeler. Go left and enter the office Schism just came from. Take the Photo #6. Go outside and run to the end of the corridor - open the door on the left.
Choose the door on the left and go inside. You will receive the 12 Gauge Shotgun. Take the Station Map from the table.
Ok, this time it won't be easy. You will meet some new monsters and they are really dangerous. Schisms can kill in seconds but there is one trick that you can use (not involving shotgun). Schisms are stupid and you can take advantage of it. Try to use barriers when you're fighting them. For example when you're standing behind a desk, Schisms won't be able to avoid it and will try to walk into it instead. This gives you time to kill it with the axe (this game is a little buggy, so your axe should easily go through the desk and hit Schism).
If using game's bugs to your advantage isn't your style and you want to fight Schism "the right way" choose something faster than the axe like the knife or steel pipe and try to dodge and follow that up with a fast attack.
Xbox 360: Killing of first Schism will give Split Personality achievement (10 p.).
After killing four Schisms go to the Lobby. In the Men's Restroom you will find a Health Drink.
Break the glass and take another Health Drink.
Go to the Briefing Room.
Briefing Room
Destroy the boards to uncover a hole and enter it. There are two Schisms inside - kill them you're your shotgun or use the desk method. Take Shotgun Ammunition and go to the garage. Shoot the charging Schism.
Garage
To open the safe in the Office you will need to enter the code. The solution is easy - it's the hour on the clock. Code: 206.
Take Shotgun and Pistol Ammunition and Health Drink from inside.
Pull the lever to open the garage.
Leave the garage to fight with Siam. This monster is big but it's not as tough as it looks. Kill him with the axe or shotgun - whatever you like.
Xbox 360: Killing of first Siam will give you the Shades of James achievement (20 p.).
In this part of the game you will need to cooperate with Elle.
Go forward and jump down. You will notice a gate with number 3 (it's marked as Gate 13 on your map).
There's a wheel on the left side. Use it to open the gate. Elle should go through and open it for you from the other side.
Walk forward, then left and climb onto the higher level.
Walk in the water with the axe equipped. There are two Lurkers here so be careful. Kill them and leave the water.
One way goes nowhere but you can find 2 x Pistol Ammunition there.
Go down, then left at the fork, climb up and pry the door with the crowbar. Rotate the wheel to get rid of the water. Go to the main tunnel and go forward.
You should reach a save point.
In the room nearby you will find Shotgun Ammunition and Sewers Map. Go to the corridor marked as Bilige Tank.
Go east, then north. Turn to the east and go south. In the corridor on the left there is a passage leading to a Health Drink.
Go south until you reach a gate with number 8.
Rotate the wheel, Elle will go on to do.... nothing. Go back north and to the save point.
During your travel to the save point Alex will need to fight with Needlers. From the save point go north and then turn west.
Go south until you reach the gate with number 4. Elle will open it from the other side.
In the corridor find a lane on the right. You will find some Shotgun Ammunition. In the Spillway kill two Lurkers and climb the ladder.
In the corridor heading west another Needler will attack. Take the ammo from the corner (Pistol Ammunition and Shotgun Ammunition).
Road to the west is blocked, pull the lever nearby and go north. Jump down and save the game.
Go north, then east to the place marked as Main Drain Chamber.
Main Drain Chamber
Rotate the wheel near the gate - Elle will disappear on the other side. Kill three Needlers and the Sion. You can use the axe or simply shoot them with your shotgun.
Go east through the destroyed gate. In the corridor on the left you can find the Photo #7. Climb up at the end of the corridor.
You need to reach Dr. Fitch's Office. You can go to the Town Hall take some items and save the game.
Go south, after the conversation with Wheeler equip the gun. Kill wandering Ferals and run to the Town Hall avoiding Schisms.
Town Hall
Do you remember the entrance nailed shut? Go left, shoot the Smog and destroy the boards barring the entrance with an axe. Push the wardrobe and take the Child's Drawing #10.
Save the game, and go to the place marked on your map as Fitch.
Go to the kitchen to get the Health Drink. Go to the child's room (last door on the right) and take the Photo #8. Take a look at the dresser -you will need a key to open it.
Turn off the flashlight - a few nurses are waiting outside this room so be careful. You can eliminate some of them with headshots but most probably you will need to use the knife.
Go to the examination room which is now open - take the Serum #3 and Small Key. Return to the child's room and use a key to open the dresser.
You'll receive Scarlett's Doll.
This map should let you understand better this particular maze. The start is marked as S and red lines are stairs.
Go straight forward, then turn left and when you reach the end turn right.
In the point marked as 1 you will find stairs leading right (south). Go downstairs, jump over the crack and after a while you should reach a fork. Turn left to reach a place marked as 2 - you should notice the next crack on your right and a corridor. Jump over the crack and go left, and then left again. You will reach a point marked as 3 - faulty fan in the floor. Jump down.
At the starting place (marked as 4) you will be attacked by a Swarm. Take Pistol Ammunition from the table and go along the corridor. Jump down and go straight ahead and then left. Go downstairs to reach crack in a platform - jump over it and go upstairs. Look at the left side of the room. You should notice stairs - you can climb down to the platform below (a place marked as 5). Do it.
Go upstairs (6 on the map) to take the Health Drink. Go downstairs to meet a Smog at the fork (7 on the map). Shoot him.
On the right side of the fork (8 on the map) you will find Child Drawing #11. Go left and then straight ahead. Jump over the crack and then turn left and jump down (in the place marked as 9).
You part of the path isn't marked on the map. You're on the little platform - use the ladder to go down. Go left (from the ladder) and go downstairs. At the end of the way, jump down.
You're in the point marked as 10. Go north, jump over the lava and at the end of the corridor, turn right and jump down. Go left and climb down (11). Find a crack in the wall and squeeze through it. Go through the faulty fan and take a Crowbar off the table. Return to the start (10) and go backwards (south). Jump over the lava and jump down to the platform below. Climb down the ladder (13).
The road is easy from this point on so you won't need the map. You can turn off a working fan with the lever on the wall. Go through the fan and jump down on the platform below. Go through the fan ( no way back - it will start working after that) and take the Child's Drawing #12. Go right to reach a room with two fans - as usual go through the fan that's not moving and use the knife to cut the skin on the left. Destroy a Swarm and pull the lever to turn off another fan. Climb down.
You should reach a room with fans and levers. You need to set them properly to go through, but before you do anything, go through the fan on the left to get Serum #4.
There are numbers on the levers - here is the sequence you need:

Fans are not working now and you can go through safely. Use the ladder and save the game. Go forward to reach the big door at the end - open it.
Scarlet
This boss is a harder to beat than the last one and you will probably use most of your ammo and Health Drinks.
Scarlet is very, very resistant. You will have to beat her using a crowbar, dodging her attacks to perform the combo at the end of this part of the battle. Hit her as many times as possible and after a while she should change her form to that of a big spider. Don't waste your ammo - wait for a moment when she is walking on the ceiling and tries to crush you. Dodge this attack and immediately counterattack. Repeat it few times and you should win.
Xbox 360: destroying Scarlet will give you Blood Donor achievement (50 p.).
You have Founder's Key and you are able to open secret passage in the Town Hall. Leave the office and go there.
Start from saving the game, then enter the main room in the middle of the hall. There is a place near a big book where you can use a key. This will open a trap door. Walk to the basement.
Town Hall Underground
Turn off the flashlight!
Take the First Aid Kit from below and go through the narrow corridor to the room full of Nurses. Kill them and examine the big cross made of stone. You will find a Ceremonial Dagger. Equip it, turn away and go toward the big root. Turn right and go toward the middle part of the wall (between two books). Walk along until you find a place where you can use the "unlock" command. This will open the secret passage. Go straight ahead, then turn right. Go forward and take the first passage to the right. On the next fork turn left and then go forward ignoring the corridor on your right. On the crossing turn right. Run straight ahead and turn into second passage to the left. You should reach a small room with a ladder. Use it.
You're in the mausoleum now. Turn left and take the Child's Drawing #13. Equip the Ceremonial Dagger to unlock the door.
Founders Garden
There is another mausoleum near the one you've just left. Open the door with Ceremonial Dagger and take the Serum #5 from inside.
Streets of Shepherd's Glen
Take a walk through the streets of town. Go along the Main St. and take the Photo #9 from the billboard.
At the entrance to the Junkyard you can find some ammo (2 x Shotgun Ammunition) and a Health Drink. Don't waste your ammo and ignore wandering Smogs. After that return to Founders Garden.
Go back to Founders Row and jump into the second hole (the first one is blocked). Squeeze through the hole and shoot Smogs. At the end of the alley you can find Shotgun Ammunition and First Aid Kit. Find a small window in the middle area of the alley and climb through. You are in Founder's Row now.
Go to the Family Crypts North area and find a boarded entrance. Use an axe to go inside and take the Chrome Hammer pistol. Save the game and go back to the house (you will need to kill two dogs during this trip).
Go to the kitchen. Destroy the boarded entrance and take the First Aid Kit.
Go back to the backyard and enter the basement. Cut through the foil and enter the secret room. Take the Bluesteel Shotgun from the cabinet and the Attic Key from the table.
Go upstairs to the second floor and open the door at the end of the corridor using the Attic Key. Go to the attic.
Attic
There is a Photo #10 behind the curtain, but the most important thing is a wardrobe that needs to be moved to uncover a secret passage. Go the secret room and solve the jigsaw puzzle (look at the pictures below). After that take the Silent Hill Map, read the letter and go downstairs to speak with Alex' mother.
Go north and save the game.
Take the Angry Mask from the table.
Go to the kitchen and take the Frowning Mask and a Health Drink. Return to the hall and pull the lever. This will open the way to the attic but you don't need to go there now. Pull the lever again.
Go upstairs, to the parent's room. Take the Cleaver from the table near the door. Go inside, jump over the crack and take the Stuffed Rabbit from the bath. There is also an Indifferent Mask on the dresser.
Go to the Josh's room and look at the notes and words on the wall.
Look at the clock and set the hour and minutes on 2:06. The window will open - put the Stuffed Rabbit there. Ok - that's the first step to escaping from that evil house.
Cut the skin in the room and go to the nearby room. Take Butcher's Knife and Child's Drawing #14. Go back to the lever and use it - you can get to the basement (the green point near the lever should be in "4" position)
Basement
Go to the western side of the corridor and find a hole in the fence. Go behind the fence. There is a crack in the eastern part of the next room. Cut the skin and enter the secret room of Alex' father.
Take the Bogeyman Knife from the Schism's body.
Examine the table. Here is the order in which you need to put knifes.

Go back to hall and pull the lever to first position. Prepare the shotgun and kill the charging Schism.
Kitchen
Go to the kitchen and open the door to the dining room.
Dining Room
Examine the cross with bodies and use the Indifferent Mask on the body turned towards the door and Frowning Mask on the body turned towards the window.
Go back to the hall and pull the lever to the second position.
Save the game and go to the attic. In the room with stairs move the cabinet and take the Hearth of Darkness Medal.
Attic
Equip the shotgun and turn right. Kill the Schism lurking in darkness.
Move to the south-western end of the corridor and squeeze through the pipes to go east. Take the ammo from the corner (Shotgun Ammunition and Pistol Ammunition).
Go back to the stairs and go to the left. You should notice a passage under the pipe. There is a mannequin there with the Vile Acts Medal to take. Kill the guarding Schism and go to main corridor. Go north, kill the lying Schism and walk to the south - east part of this area. Go under the pipes until you reach a room with a table. Take the Fallen Star Medal.
Medals puzzle
Examine the mannequin and hang all medals in the proper sequence.

This will open the door to the house. Leave the attic and return to the hall. Save the game and leave this house.
Go upstairs to leave the pier. After a few jumps you should land in the middle of Sagan Street.
Go to the Dargento Cemetery at first.
Take the Sapphire from the bench and go back to the street.
Go south avoiding or killing Lurkers to the place marked as Bait Shop. There is a passage in the fence on the left side of the building. Go there to save the game, take the Child's Drawing #15 and Pistol Ammunition.
Go south and when you pass the plank turn right to enter the Dargento Cemetery from the other side. Go to the Sun Garden area and then to the west. Look at the wall on the corner - you should notice some holes in it. Breach it with the help of your axe.
Take Garnet from the bench.
Go west and open the gate to Janus Garden.
Go south to reach the Overlook Penitentiary - you can't go inside - the gate is electrified so don't touch it. There are Lurkers, Smogs and Ferals wandering around so be careful. Go south to the Boiler Room. Kill the Lurker, take Health Drink ale leave it through the second door.
Go right (east) along the Koontz Street. You will find some very precious Rifle Ammunition.
Look at the map and go west to the Alchemilla Hospital. Take the Bloodstone from the eastern area around the Hospital and Serum #6 from the western area.
Go north along the Wilon Street. You can't enter Toluca Lake and Power so take a walk to the Toluca Lake Offices.
Kill the Lurkers and shoot the Feral. Enter the building.
Take the Pistol Ammunition and go to the Office to take Health Drink and Turquoise from the basin.
Jump over the breach to the Break Room.
Save the game here.
Destroy boards and enter the next room to take the Toluca Lake Water and Power Key
Go to the Lower Landing and use the key.

You will meet new enemies here - cultists. They're not especially strong but some them have guns so be careful.
Xbox 360: killing the first cultist will give you the Out of Order achievement (10 p.)
Look at the diagram on the wall. You have turn on the valves in proper sequence:
B - on the map marked as I (on the platform above)
A - on the map marked as II (below)
C - on the map marked as III (on the platform above).
Pull the lever on the panel (marked as a Turbine Control).
Save the game in the Break Room and leave this building.
Its dark now and there are more monsters around.
Go back to the prison the same way you came in before. Kill the Sion and go back to Dargento Cemetery. Go to Janus Garden and stand close to the statue. Use a Turquoise on the face and Garnet on the back. Take the Moon Garden Key and go to the Moon Garden area. Use the key to open the gate.
Walk to the north-western part of the Moon Garden and take M14 Assault Rifle from the wall.
Xbox 360: getting the M14 Assault Rifle will give you the Lock n Load achievement (25 p.)
Return to prison area and take the Pulaski Axe from the truck and Health Drink from the trashcan. Enter the prison from the north.
Save the game and go through Deception. There is only one way in - you will need to pull the lever to open the gate.
You will find a boarded entrance, destroy it with your axe and take the First Aid Kit from inside.
Go along the corridor, break the glass to enter. Go further through the only door in this place.
You're in a big hall with stairs in the middle. Take Prison Map from the corner. Search near rooms to find Pistol Ammunition and Health Drink.
Go upstairs.
Go around this room, jump over the breach and open the door in the north. Pull the lever and go west. Kill a pair of cultists, pull the lever go downstairs.
Cell Wing B - eastern area
In the cell in the north you will find Rifle Ammunition.
In cell B2 you'll find a letter
Go west, kill two cultists.
Cell Wing B - western area
Pull the lever to free Wheeler.
Kill the Sion with your axe.
Follow Wheeler and after you reach the second floor go to the room marked as Upper Guard Room.
Take the Child's Drawing #16.
Jump over the breach and follow Wheeler through the hole.
Pull the lever and go to the east.
Wheeler can open every room for you. Go to the north and take the Health Drink from A6 cell.
Try to go north and after that go the cell room you were before. Wheeler will open the next gate.
Cell Wing A - eastern area
There is nothing important here. Kill the Needler and go to the Shower Room.
There two more Needlers here. After the fight walk to the wall with cracked bricks. Destroy the wall with your axe.
From the Boiler Room go north. Save the game.
This save is very important if you want to watch all endings. Do not overwrite it.
Go north and when you reach the closed door, go back downstairs and to the north. Wheeler will open the door to the western area of the Cell Block A.
Go through the hole to A11 cell and then squeeze through the crack to A10 cell. Take Loose Wire from the car.
Get out of the cell and go to upstairs. Take the Health Drink. Jump over the reach to the cell A20 and take Radio Wire from the radio.
Now go through the eastern door and enter to the little room. Take the Scrap of Wire from the table.
Go back to the cell room and enter Upper Guard Room.
Examine the box on the wall and use all 3 wires you have. You will need to connect them (look at the picture below for the solution).
Use the lever near box. You will open the cell A15. There is no floor there but you can jump over the breach and take serum #7 from inside.
Jump to the floor below, go east and enter the code 110391.
Go downstairs, after a cutscene you will have a choice - this is important and will affect the ending of the game (look at the Endings chapter of this guide).
Xbox 360: choosing "Ok. I'll do it" will give you the Mercy achievement (20 p.)
Choosing "I'm sorry...' will give the Compassion achievement (20 p.).
Go downstairs and save the game in the next room.
Go to the next room - and solve the puzzle.
This pole has three switches and one hole. Here is the proper sequence:
Left switch -a knight
Right switch - nothing (no symbol)
Middle switch - a coffin
Put the hand into the hole and jump into it after the cutscene.
There is the save point at the eastern end of this room.
There is also a narrow passage in the western part of this area. Go forward until you reach the room with two Needlers. Wheeler will kill them. Go to the "boss door" but don't open it yet. Go north and take First Aid Kit, Health Drink and save the game. Now enter to fight with Asphyxia.
Asphyxia
This monster can be very annoying - she can grab Alex and kill him immediately. Don't use the gun during this fight - it's useless. Pick the axe and avoid her blows changing sides from left to right. You will need some luck to find yourself near her tail. The X marker will appear - hit her then and quickly move to her head. You should be able to finish her off then.
Xbox 360: killing of Asphyxia will give you the Catch Your Breath achievement (50 p.).
Leave this place through the window after the fight.
You have to get to the Church and the there are swarms of monsters out there. Go left and take 2 x Pistol Ammunition.
To open the gate you need to turn the wheel.
Go right and take Health Drink.
On the right side of the stairs there is Rifle Ammunition. Enter the Church.
There are some Schisms around so equip the shotgun. Go forward, take the Church Map from the bench. A the end of the benches there is the Shotgun Ammunition.
Move closer to the organs and use the knife. This will open the gate nearby. Go back to the exit, shoot the Schism and go east.
Take a Photo #11 from the bowl.
Xbox 360: This is the last one photo. For all 11 of them you will receive Josh' Gallery achievement (50 p.).
Use the wheel and take Chalice Plate from the basin.
Go upstairs and save the game.
Enter the confessional to make another important choice. This will affect the ending.
Xbox 360: forgiving Alex' father will give you Forgiveness achievement (20 p.), otherwise you will receive Angela's Choice achievement (20 p).
Take the Kneeling Man Plate from the confessional. Behind the south gate you will find a Health Drink and Unlit Candle. Go downstairs, shoot the pair of Schism and head to west part of the church -West Wing.
Move close to the statue and use the Unlit Candle. You will receive Candle Plate. Take Pistol Ammunition.
Go upstairs, take the Shotgun Ammunition and Health Drink. Cut the picture on the right and take the Tree Plate. Kill another Schism and enter the corridor the Schism just came from.
Stand close to stained glass window, take the First Aid Kit, examine the window, take the Sword Plate and kill two Sions.
It's time to solve the puzzle near organs. Examine the puzzle and put every Plate in the right slot:
Vengeance - Sword Plate
Desire - Tree Plate
Sorrow - Candle Plate
Sacrifice - Chalice Plate
Penitence - Kneeling Man Plate
Move closer to the person and after a cut-scene you will receive Shepherd Family Ring. Get Health Drink and go down.

Go downstairs and turn left. Take the suit from the table and go through the steam. Press the button at the end of the corridor.
Before you go, take some items: the Ceremonial Dagger, the Lair Map and the First Aid Kit.
Save the game (you will be able to get back here to do it as often as you want).
You don't have the rest of your equipment so you will need to fight with your dagger.
Go north, to the Room 212. Kill the cultist and take the Steel Pipe from the body.
Break the glass and enter the Room 211.
Dagger is still a better weapon than the pipe so use it to kill the next cultist. Take the Sector 3 Key and MK 23 Handgun. There is also some Shotgun ammo there. Look at the trashcan - you'll find Child's Drawing #18.
Xbox 360: collecting all 18 drawings will give you Nursery Rhymes achievement (50 p.).
Go back to the corridor - two other cultists will attack you. Shoot both of them or kill at least one with your knife.
Go to the place marked as Sector 3.
There is another cultist inside - stab him with your dagger. Go to the south-east part of this area - you will have to pry the door open with the pipe. There are two cultists in the corridor - kill them and walk to the Room 320.
Jump over the fence on the left, move the blockade and pry open the door.
Curtis
He has a very dangerous weapon but in fact he is very incompetent. You can stab him with you knife without dodging, hitting him constantly. You can also kill him the usual way - dodging and attacking.
After the fight and a few cutscenes, go back to the Room 320 to take some things. Take the First Aid Kit and Health Drink from the table. Take the Room 301 Key from the wall in the Room 321.
Return to Elle and open the gate using the same method as you did in the sewers.
There is a pair of cultist in the Sector 3. Kill them quickly - one of them has a gun so he's twice as dangerous. Go to Room 301 (use the Room 301 Key).
Room 301
This are many treasures in this room, but the most important thing is that you can get your whole inventory back.
Take Pistol Ammunition from the corner on the right and from the cabinet. Take your equipment from the table and Health Drink from the cabinet in the corridor. There is also a briefcase with Serum #8.
Xbox 360: collecting all serums will give you the Health Junkie achievement (50 p.).
Break the glass and enter Room 302, take the First Aid Kit and return to the beginning to save the game.
Walk to the Sector 1 area.
Go north from the save point and enter the door, then turn right and go east. Open the gate with a help of Elle. Enter the Room 113.
Take the Police Marksman Rifle and Shotgun Ammunition.
Break the glass and enter the Room 112.
Wheeler is dying but you have a choice (read the Ending chapter of this guide) to help him or not.
Xbox 360: helping Wheeler will give you Now about those drinks achievements (20 p. ).
Go to Room 111 and to the corridor. Go east, save the game and enter the room.
You will notice a riddle on the floor.
Use the control panel and press the X ( or right mouse button) button 2 times and A button (or left mouse button) 8 times.
The second part of the puzzle:
Examine the door and turn the outer circle 3 times clockwise. Turn the inner circle 4 times counter clockwise.
Go back to the save point, save the game and enter the crypt. Examine the sarcophagus in the southern part of the room.
Amnion
This is the final boss and although he's not very strong, he's resistant and tough. If you saved a few medkits for this fight, you don't have to worry about the result.
Choose the axe as your weapon and run around. Attack him when he's vomiting. After a while he should transform into his second form. Use everything you have, every weapon, every Health Drink. Attack as hard as possible and after a while you should be able to perform a finishing move.
Homecoming has 5 different endings - each of them unlocks a different special costume for Alex. Xbox 360 users will also receive an achievement and 50 points for each ending.
There are 3 factors deciding which ending you get - the choices you made during encounter with Alex's mother, forgiving (or not) his father and decision to help (or not) Wheeler

Getting all 1000 points shouldn't prove very difficult. Playing the first time, complete the game in the standard manner - gather all Serums, Photos and Drawings and try to achieve No Dogs Allowed. Then change difficulty to Hard, start again and find the Laser Pistol. With that weapon the game gets ultra easy so you can easily achieve all endings. Simply save the game before the scene with dying mother and try all combinations to get all endings.
