This guide to Assassin's Creed III contains a detailed and richly illustrated solution of the main story and all the side missions grouped into numerous additional activities. Additionally you will find a list of all the collectibles together with helpful maps and a number of hints regarding various aspects of the gameplay.

After the introduction cutscene ends, keep heading onwards while successively opening the gates on your way.
That way you will reach a room where Desmond will use the first power source and he will be moved to the Animus.
The training course will require you to follow the green points showing you the way. You need to run towards them while holding down the free run button. That way Desmond will automatically pass all obstacles on his way.
Climb the ledges onto the upper level of the complex.
Optional objective: Perform an air assassination.
Head onwards all the time until you receive a task of killing an enemy from above. It's an optional objective, completing which isn't crucial for completing the whole mission, though by performing all of them you will earn a full synchronization.
To perform an air assassination, head to the end of the end of the beam hanging above the enemy and press the attack button. Desmond will then jump down onto the enemy, taking care of him immediately. Kill the second soldier in the same fashion as well.
Head onwards and you will reach two narrow beams. You will need to jump down form one of them. During free run, Desmond will always hesitate to perform any jumps which can be dangerous for him, though you can force him by pressing the jump button.
Below, turn left and keep heading onwards. If the road ends, jump to the other side.
That way you will reach a spot where Desmond will step into the shoes of a new character. Head to the end of the path and open the door with the interaction button to begin another mission.
As the sequence begins, keep heading onwards until an opera employee blocks your path. Go inside the row on the left and sit down on the only free place.
During the conversation you will have to use the Eagle Vision and look at the man sitting in the loge on the right.
After regaining control over your character, head left. There you will find a ladder using which you can get onto the wall of the opera hall.
You need to sneak between the balconies to the right. If you find it impossible to move further into that direction, try climbing one level higher and follow the green point. Eventually you will reach an empty loge.
To the right there's a door which you have to open with a lockpick. Press the interaction button to begin an easy mini-game.
Start off by moving the left and afterwards the right analog stick until both lockpicks are in proper positions. With the lockpicks adjusted properly, keep holding the sticks and start pressing the free run button. That way you will open the lock.
On the other side of the door, jump onto the element of the scenography and head further to the left.
That way you will reach a ladder which you have to climb back up.
From there, jump onto the wooden moon and head to the left edge of the scene.
Behind the door you will find your victim.
Kill the man with the attack button and afterwards move through the crowd to the opera exit, pointed by the green marker. The mission will end as you enter your carriage.
After regaining control of your character, head onto the ship deck and speak with the marked men on your way.
After reaching your destination, you will be attacked by one of the crew members.
Optional objective: Limit Health Loss to less than 10%
Firstly you will learn how to parry enemy attacks by holding down the parry button. Your character will automatically reflect all hits.
After performing three blocks, attack the enemy with the attack button.
In the second fight, use the parry button again but this time press it right before getting hit. Slow motion will turn on and you will be able to perform a fast counterattack (attack button).
After getting beaten up yet again, the sailor will take out a knife and will try to kill you. Disarm him with the jump button right after parrying (during slow motion). That way you will end the brawl.
After a short conversation with the captain you can head to sleep to your cabin or play some logic games (marked on the map with dices).
Their rules will be explained in details before the game begins.
As the next day begins, head out of your cabin and speak with the marked crew members. After speaking to the last of them, you will be able to choose whether to speak with the doctor or the cook. The choice doesn't influence the further events in any way, but you will hear a slightly different dialogue in each case.
After hearing one of the men out, head to a man named James.
Afterwards check out the stern and go below the deck.
At the marked spot you will need to use Eagle Vision and examine the shining barrel on the right.
You however won't be able to learn why someone is throwing cargo off the ship, so return to your cabin and get some sleep.
After a couple days the ship will be attacked and you will get locked below deck, where you will have to fight with a mysterious crew member. In order to kill him, parry right before being hit and press the attack button when time slows down. That way you will end the fight instantly.
Afterwards a cutscene will begin, after which you will have to secure the riggings. Run from one point to the other and press the interaction button to perform the necessary actions.
The last point can be found on one of the masts. Climb it using the ropes and set the sail.
Optional objective: Rescue James under 40 seconds.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Then you will see James hanging above the deck with last bits of strength. Hold down the free run button and run forward. If you do it fast enough, you will not only save him, but also complete the additional objective.
After the storm ends, head onto the deck and speak with the captain. He will send you to the top of the mast, from where you will be able to see land.
The sequence will soon come to an end.
After landing in Boston, follow your companion.
He will eventually leave you. Turn on the map and head to the marked spot.
There you will meet Benjamin Franklin, who will give you an additional mission of collecting the lost pages from his almanac. A description of their locations can be found in the chapter of this guide dedicated to collectibles.
I'd recommend taking care of that later on and for now enter the nearby shop to buy a sword and a pistol.
Equipped with them, you can get onto a horse and head to the "Green Dragon" inn with Lee, where on the upper floor you will meet William Johnson.
After speaking with Johnson, leave the inn and speak with Hickey beside the building.
Optional objective: Kill 10 mercenaries using firearms.
Soon enough you will have to shoot one of the enemies with the secondary attack button. Your main objective is retrieving the stolen chest and optionally killing 10 enemies with firearms. In order to complete the optional objective, always begin with shooting your pistol and try reloading as fast as possible so that you can shoot again before enemies can get nearby you.
After eliminating the first target, climb onto the wall before you and shoot another enemy on the left. Afterwards you should target the group of soldiers below. Two companions will aid you in this fight.
With the area cleared, blow up the nearby gate by shooting the gunpowder barrels on the cart.
Inside the fort you will find the chest you're looking for.
As you approach it, more mercenaries will appear. Shoot the first one and finish off the others with your sword.
After defeating the group, you should receive another objective - you can't let your companions lose more than 50% of their life points. Before leaving the fort, collect items lying by the enemy bodies. For that you need to hold down the interaction button.
Optional objective: Do not let Johnson or Hickey lose more than 50% of their health.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Head to the marked destination with your companions. From time to time you will be attacked by mercenaries. You should always begin with shooting your pistol and then eliminating the other enemies in melee combat.
Your last target should be the soldiers shooting from roofs of the nearby buildings. After you eliminate all the other enemies, they shouldn't be too much of a threat for Lee and Hickey who will be hidden behind covers.
After reaching the designated spot, the mission will come to an end.
After meeting with the Templar, leave the inn and head to Church's place together with Lee. As you get there, it will turn out that the man has been kidnapped.
To find him, you need to eavesdrop on the neighbours of the abducted, marked on the map. For that, enter the circle displayed around them.
As you're eavesdropping, you cannot be noticed by civilians, so hide between the men leaning against the wall on the right.
After they stop talking, you will receive a mission of climbing onto the top of the nearby church.
Climb to the top and press the interaction button. That way you will synchronize and discover a big part of the map. There are many such points in the game, marked with an eagle icon on the map.
Optional objective: Eavesdrop on a moving group of guards.
Optional objective: Do not fail a single eavesdrop.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
With the synchronization complete, jump onto the haystack (press the free run and jump button at the same time). You will receive two additional objectives: you need to eavesdrop on the moving groups of guards and not fail any chance.
First four groups will be marked with orange dots, but after eavesdropping on one of them the others will disappear.
Your main target should be the soldiers left of the church, as only they are moving. That way you will complete the first additional objective.
After the first eavesdrop, head to the green circle marked on the map. Search the designated area and you will find another group of soldiers. Approach them and sit on the nearby bench to mix into the crowd.
Further people to eavesdrop on can be found in the second green area. After listening to the whole conversation, you will complete the additional objective.
Not together with Lee you have to sneak to the marked red zone. Within it, guards are very suspicious and will start chasing you on sight, so be very careful. You can give your companion some easy order with the interaction button, telling him either to follow you or stay where he is.
You can also point to a hiding place (aim button) and tell Lee to hide there (interaction button).
In order to reach the suburb warehouse unnoticed, go round the red zone from the north.
Optional objective: Remain undetected.
You will come across only one patrol there. Hide in the bushes and head to the door after they disappear. Unfortunately it will turn out to be locked.
The key is in possession of three guards in the area. The easiest to steal from is the one on the right. Firstly lure the man walking around the warehouse and kill him with the hidden blade. Afterwards sneak to the target and hold down the interaction button to get the item.
In order to complete the additional objective, you have to remain undetected.
Having obtained the key, enter the marked warehouse where you will find three men torturing Church.
Kill the two closest enemies together with Lee and afterwards get rid of the third one to finish this chapter.
After the conversation in the inn, head to the man called Pitcairn together with Charles.
There you will witness a quarrel which will end with the soldier you're looking for getting imprisoned.
Optional objective: Limit detection time to 15 seconds or less
You will now have to follow his escort while making sure not to be detected and not losing the sight of him for more than 15 seconds.
If one of the soldiers notices you, a yellow triangle will appear above his head, eventually changing to red. If you want to complete the additional objective, you cannot let the guards look at you for more than 15 seconds. The total time of all the enemies stacks up. If the red triangle fills up completely, you will fail the mission.
Follow the group while trying to keep distance and hide behind walls and between groups of people.
Eventually you will reach a place where Lee will draw the enemies' attention and start running away. Chase him.
Optional objective: Perform sequential combo kills - 3.
Optional objective: Prevent snitches from calling for reinforcements.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
After reaching the destination, you will have a short conversation and a fight with British soldiers. The fight itself isn't hard, but you will have to focus if you want to complete the optional objectives.
The first you have to do is kill the enemy marked with a red dot with a white border. That way you will prevent him from calling in reinforcements.
The second objective is performing a combo of three kills. In order to do that, you need to lead out a counterattack which will kill the enemy and afterwards quickly press the attack button while leaning the analog stick towards another soldier. If you see that someone's trying to attack you, parry him to continue the combo.
After the last soldiers is killed, approach Braddock and end the mission.
The mission will begin with an attack on a convoy. Pick up the rifle from the roof with the interaction button and use it to shoot one of the soldiers on the street. Afterwards you can jump down and get rid of the others together with your companions.
With the last enemy dead, you will take control of the carriage.
Your task now will only be to press the Assassins Guild button at the right time to get rid of the British soldiers guarding the road.
Optional objective: Find and kill the general.
Optional objective: Perform stealth assassinations from a corner spot - 3.
After a short ride you will eventually reach the enemy camp, where prisoners are held. Your main mission is rescuing them while not letting the guards notice you. You will also receive two additional objectives: kill the general marked on the map and assassinate three soldiers from behind a corner.
Firstly take care of the general. He can be found to the right of the camp entrance.
He's walking beside the stocks, nearby the stone wall.
Sneak in there from the side and observe the enemy's walking pattern. As he moves away from the prisoner, assassinate the soldier building stocks and hide behind a pile of crate nearby. From there you will be able to kill the general, but only after a big group of soldiers return to their position.
After eliminating him, head back to the camp entrance. From there you should approach the first prisoner on the left and hide in the bushes beside a pile of crates.
The guard guarding the Indians will pass beside the crates and stop for a moment. Use that time to hide behind the crates, whistle and kill the enemy.
With the man dead, free the prisoners.
Right after opening the first stocks, you need to quickly run to the end of the stone wall of the left.
If you're fast enough, you should get there before the next guard shows up there. When the enemy approached the wall, kill him with a hidden blade.
The next group of prisoners are held on the ship. In order to save them, swim to the other side of the boat and grab onto it where one of the soldiers is. You will be able to quickly kill him and drop into the water below.
After he's dead, go lower and wait for the second guard to return to his position.
Board the ship and hide behind the cargo. Whistle from there and get rid of him to save the Indians.
The last group of prisoners can be found nearby the first. Approach them from the left, going between tents and bushes and wait for the guard to leave. That way you will be able to finish this part of the mission.
After a short cutscene you will be attack by British soldiers. Don't try to fight them now, instead keep pressing the jump button to grab the nearest enemy and block the rifle shots with his body.
Optional objective: Avoid firing line damage.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Now your main task will be killing Silas, who's hiding inside the fort. It's not all that difficult, as you just have to run to the map (he's marked on the map) and stick a hidden blade in his stomach to end the mission. You don't need to worry about the enemies you come across on your way.
Things will be more difficult if you decide to complete the additional objective of avoiding any enemy fire. To complete it, after killing the first enemy you have to quickly run to the group of soldiers waiting for you by the fort entrance.
You need to use one of them (by pressing the jump button) to block the attack of the riflemen line standing in the gate. Afterwards quickly attack the enemies.
Fight with them just for a couple seconds so that they stop reloading their guns and afterwards immediately run up the stairs on the left to reach Silas. Kill the enemy with a counterattack to end the sequence.
To begin the mission, use fast travel to move to the Frontier and meet with Charles Lee there.
Get onto the horse and follow your companion until you come across traces of an Indian woman.
The path in the snow will lead you to a woman, who will start running at sight.
Optional objective: Limit health loss - 50%.
Follow her to a camp where you will be attacked by wolves.
In order to protect yourself from their attacks, you will need to press the buttons prompts on the screen. If you miss one of them, the wolf will knock you down to the ground and try to bite through your throat. Start pressing the displayed button to free yourself. If you want to complete the additional objective, you won't be able to make a single mistake at all. It's not that simple, but you should get a feel of it after a couple times. Remember that the combinations are random, though they usually begin with the parry button.
After defeating the first group of animals, you will have to find the Indian woman again. She can be found behind a tree in the marked green area.
As you approach her, the woman will start running away. Catch and speak to her and eventually meet on the nearby rock.
After some further talking, head with her to the inn marked on the map.
Inside you will get a mission of eavesdropping on two groups of soldiers.
While spying on the men on the right, you should stand by the bar. With the left group, lean against the wall by the window.
Optional objective: Use breakable objects during a fight - 2.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
After listening to both groups, head to the exit. Unfortunately right beside the door you will be stopped by some British who you will have to beat.
Try using counterattacks as much as possible. That way you will complete the additional objective by destroying the two nearby tables. After the fight, the mission will end.
In order to begin this mission, speak with Zio who is waiting for you in the Frontier woods.
After a short talk, head onto the road on the left and hide inside the carriage.
That way you will get behind the palisade.
Optional objective: Do not kill any guards.
After you leave your cover, head between the bushes to the men marked orange. You need to eavesdrop on their conversation.
In order to do that, follow them while making sure the don't notice you. Also look out for one of the guards patrolling the area. The best hideout are bushes and haystacks.
After they head onto the upper level, climb the nearby ladder and jump down from the roof into the haystack below.
Soon enough your main target - in the form of a map held inside the nearby tent - will be marked with a green dot.
In order to get it, sneak into the bushes on the left and knock out the nearby guard bare-handed. Only if you don't kill any guards will you complete the additional objective. After the man falls to the ground, steal the map by holding down the interaction button.
Optional objective: Sabotage cannon - 2.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Now you can leave the camp and end the mission or sabotage 2 s. To destroy the first one, head into the bushes nearby the guard on the wall and wait for him to turn his back on you.
He will give you a couple seconds to approach and stun him.
After taking care of him, approach the cannon and hold down the interaction button to render it useless.
To reach the second target, you should lower yourself behind the wall by the cannon and the palisade edge and walk to the cannon.
A single guard will be waiting there. Wait behind the corner for the man to turn around, sabotage the cannon and quickly hide in the bushes on the left.
From there you can stun the enemy patrolling the road.
With the area clear, sneak to the end of the bushes growing by the wall. On the right you should see a house. Go round it from the right and jump into a hay cart standing by the palisade. That way you will find yourself in the place from where you eavesdropped on the two men some time ago.
Kill the patrolling soldier from here and afterwards head onto the wall above the gate.
On the other side of the roof you will find a couple wooden planks which you can climb onto.
Climb them and jump onto the roof on the right.
You will now have to jump far to the right, to a place not watched by the guards.
After landing safely, quickly run behind the palisade and immediately turn to the woods on the right. You need to leave the red zone before the soldiers can get an idea of what they saw.
That way you will end the mission.
After a visit to the inn, head out to meet with the Indian woman. The proper mission will begin there.
Optional objective: Kill militia without triggering open conflict - 2.
Your first task will be killing a soldier marked with a red dot. You can rush onto him at once and take out the whole camp with Indian help, but you should complete the optional objective beforehand. It consists of eliminating two enemies without an open conflict breaking out.
In order to complete it, go round the soldiers form the right and hide in the nearest pile of leaves. Beside it there's a guard who you can assassinate. Do it when the marked enemy walks away to a safe distance.
After executing him, sneak to the pile of leaves a couple steps further. From there you will be able to eliminate another enemy who's patrolling the edge of the camp.
After killing him, attack the others without worrying about getting detected.
That way you will obtain an uniform and will be able to safely ride to Braddock, marked on the map.
Optional objective: Destroy powder carts - 3.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
After a short animation, the man will start to run. Chase him by holding down the free run and jump buttons.
Your additional targets are the gunpowder carts placed nearby the road. To destroy them, you will have to press and release the secondary attack button when nearby them. Remember to quickly reload the weapon between carts by slowing down for a bit (let go of the jump button) and press the shoot button). Your character will do everything automatically while riding the horse.
As you catch up with Braddock, yet another chase will begin, though this time on foot. Get a couple meters from the enemy and kill him with a fast pistol shot. That way you will end the mission.
The whole sequence will end after you visit the inn marked on the map.
After re-entering the Animus, you will step into the shoes of a young Connor. Chase the other kids until you start playing hide and seek.
Optional objective: Find all the children without making a mistake.
Optional objective: Find all the children within the given time - 4:00.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Your mission will be finding four of your friends who have hidden in the woods. Optional objectives require you to do it within four minutes and without any mistakes. With the countdown over, examine the nearest trace with the interaction button.
That will cause green circles inside of which the children have hidden to appear on the map.
Start off by heading to the middle of the left circle and examining the traces there. The circle will narrow.
The first child can be found in the pile of leaves in the middle of the area.
Now run to the middle of the nearest circle and examine the traces there. Inside the narrowed zone you will find further traces which will lead you to two hideouts.
The proper one is the one on the right (the greener one).
The last child is hiding behind a rock inside the third circle. Just go around it and you will complete the mission.
In the second part of the game, you will have to hide from a friend. All the hideouts will be marked on your map, though you should choose the nearest ones as they are already occupied. The time limit should be enough to reach even the furthest pile of leaves.
After hiding, a cutscene will play after which you will have to return to your village.
Get behind the palisade and head towards the green marker, avoiding any obstacles with the interaction button.
After getting to your house, approach it from the right and try saving your mother.
The mission will eventually come to an end.
The mission will start with a tree jumping tutorial. Hold down the free run button, climb onto the leaning tree and afterwards jump to where the branches form a V.
In order to climb higher, you have to press the jump button.
Optional objective: Do not touch the ground or water.
After a short cutscene you will have to reach the stream by jumping between branches. The path is rather simple, but to complete the optional objective you can't touch the ground or water even once. As you run, hold down only the free run button and control your character with the left analog stick.
As you reach the rock at the shore, your friend will start drowning.
Save him and afterwards jump to the tree forming a V growing on the other side of the water.
There you will receive a task of obtaining a feather lying at the top of the rock.
Start off by reaching the rock wall by jumping between branches and the fallen trunk.
Hold onto the ledge and slowly move to the right end of the rock to climb up. don't do it beforehand, as you might fail the optional objective (you'll touch the ground).
At the top, approach the marked nest and press the interaction button.
Optional objective: Find more feathers - 3.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
After falling down you can return to your friend and end the mission, though for full synchronization you still need to collect three feathers.
Two of them will be immediately marked on your map. To get the first one, climb up the bark onto the tree growing in the marked spot.
The item you seek is lying on one of its branches.
From there you can also jump to the second feather.
To get the last one, run towards the green point symbolizing your friend. The feather is hidden south of him and will be marked on the location map as you get nearby it.
After collecting all the items, return to the young Indian to end the mission.
After the conversation, head to the green zone and eventually two red dots marking rabbits will appear.
Kill one of the animals by holding down and then releasing the shoot button and afterwards skin it with the interaction button.
Afterwards search the zone for traces marked with a magnifying glass.
Examine them and afterwards hold down the inventory button and choose the snares with the right analog stick.
Place them in the designated place by holding down the shoot button.
The next task involves hunting down a deer. Start off by heading to the marked zone and looking for tracks of the animal.
Your victim will be then marked on the map with a red dot.
Sneak between the bushes as close to it as you can and then scatter a bait of your choice with the shoot button.
When the animal gets close enough, you will be able to kill them bare-handed (choose this option from the inventory).
Skin the deer and do the same with the rabbits caught in the snares.
Optional objective: Hunt more than one type of animal - 3.
Optional objective: Combine bait and a snare to catch an animal.
Optional objective: Air assassinate animals - 2.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Your last mission will be to hunt down and skin five animals. To complete the additional objectives, amongst them there should be three different species. Additionally you need to catch a rabbit in the snare on which you places the bait previously and additionally kill two animals by jumping down onto them from a tree. You need to complete this objectives before skinning the fifth animal.
After you're done, head to the marked spot. After a short cutscene you will be attacked by a mighty bear. Dodge its attack by pressing the buttons which appear on the screen and afterwards kill it with the attack button.
The mission will end as you return to the village.
Optional objective: Avoid mid-air collisions.
After speaking with the shaman, you will take control of an eagle and will have to follow a fire bird. During your flight you will see the alternative future of your clan and will learn how to save it.
In order to reach a full synchronization, you should avoid any obstacles on your way. If you hit a tree more than once, you will fail the optional objective. It's not a simple task, though you should make it after a couple times. Try to fly as stable as possible for the most time, don't perform any sharp turns and stay at the upper part of the woods.
The mission will end as you fly to your final destination.
In order to begin the mission, head to the house marked on the map and try to enter it.
After the owner shuts the door before you, go sleep in the barn ad try again tomorrow.
Firstly knock on the front door. Without any reaction from the owner, try the back door.
After another failed attempt, try getting in through the balcony. After the conversation ends, head back to the barn.
Optional objective: Limit health loss - 50%.
In the middle of the night you will be attacked by a group of bandits. Defeat them with fast counterattacks and combos while making sure not to lose more than 50% of your life. That way you will gain a full synchronization.
After the fight you can head inside the manor and speak with Achilles. The man will take you to a hideout where the mission will end.
Begin the mission be leaving the manor and speaking with Achilles who's waiting on the carriage. Together with him you will head to Boston to buy supplies.
Follow your companion, enter the first shop and buy the needed materials.
Afterwards return to your master and you will witness a demonstration.
You will receive a mission of following the mysterious man. While making sure he doesn't notice you, follow him to the roof and wait for the marker to change from orange to red. That will mean you have to kill the shooter as fast as possible.
Optional objective: Escape within the given time - 1:20
Soon enough you will be have to escape a chase. For that, leave the red zone marked on the map and find a hay stack or a well in which you can hide. You can't be seen by any soldier when entering your hideout. If you run within 1:20 minutes, you will gain full synchronization.
Speak with Samuel Adams (marked on the map) to begin the mission. As you're looking for him, don't let the guards notice you or they'll attack you because of the third notoriety level. More on that can be found in the chapter of the guide dedicated to notoriety.
The first mission you will get will be tearing off two wanted posters. Doing so you will lower the notoriety level. All poster in the area will be marked on the map with green dots. Tear them off and return to Adams. If you run across any guards, just kill them and finish your task.
From a short cinematic you will learn that you can also lower the notoriety level by bribing town criers or print shops workers.
Optional objective: Do not raise your notoriety to level 3
Your second task will be finding the printers, however before that you will have to go to the sewers with Adams. The entrance will be marked on the map with a green dot.
By pressing the corresponding button you can tell Adams to either follow you or stop. Use that and try to sneak by towards the target while avoiding any patrols. That way you won't have to fight and therefore raise you notoriety level. If you want to obtain full synchronization, the notoriety level cannot exceed level 2.
A fight will be inevitable only after you reach the sewer entrance. Quickly kill the enemies guarding the courtyard and hide inside the hay stack behind him.
After a couple seconds you will be able to leave your hideout and go down into the sewers.
In order to find the proper exit, follow the running rats. You should take the following turns: left, left, right. On your way you should also light up the cressets that you pass by. That way it will be easier to return in case you make a mistake.
At the end you will find a locked door which you have to picklock. Do it just like you did it in previous sequences: start off by turning the left and right analog sticks until the lock clicks. Afterwards, while still holding both sticks, start pressing the free run button. The mission will end after you open the door.
After leaving the sewers, head to the printing shop marked on the map. The building will be guarded by two soldiers, who shouldn't cause you to much trouble. With them dead, head inside. Adams will bribe the printer to stop printing posters with you on them. By doing so you can completely get rid of notoriety: tearing off posters will lower the level by 1 and bribing city criers by 2. More information on notoriety can be found in the proper chapter of the guide.
Head out of the building and follow Samuel to the docks. A ship will be waiting there for you, sail it to quickly return to Davenport's manor. That way you will end the mission.
After speaking with Achilles, quickly leave the manor and go meet with the screaming man.
You will then have to run with him to the river, where his friend is being pulled by the current towards the waterfall.
Optional objective: Do not touch the water while rescuing Terry.
In order to save him, jump between rocks and tree trunks on both shores. Eventually you should reach a branch above the waterfall from where you will have to jump down to rescue the man.
If you want to complete the optional objective, you cannot touch the water. Run as fast as you can so that you can jump straight to the man from the last branch. Note that even if you dive right beside him, you will still get full synchronization.
The next mission awaits you by the docks. You can get there with fast travel by clicking on the proper point of the map.
Meet with Achilles and return to the manor after a short cinematic.
Your master will teach you how to manage the manor and send convoys. Start off by buying the needed wood and afterwards choose "Trading". There you will have to choose the goods which you want to send, type of convoy and the buyer. Send out the convoy to finish the mission. More information on the Homestead can be found in the proper part of the guide.
The next mission will start at the docks. Speak with the overseer and choose "The Hard Way". Approach the ship wheel to learn how to navigate the ship.
Optional objective: Do not take any damage.
Start off by pressing the jump button to go half-sails. Pressing the button again will set the sails completely and let you reach full speed. The interaction button lets you slow down.
Your target will be the village marked on the map with a green dot. Sail there while avoiding hitting any rocks. Only that way will you be able to complete the optional objective. For better manoeuvrability, go half-sails.
After getting close enough to the target, press the interaction button twice to stop the ship.
After a short cutscene you will once again set sail, though this time armed with a set of cannons. There are two types: the cannon volley and the swivel guns.
The first one is used with the free run button and the second with the aim button. With the swivel guns, be sure to let go of the button only after the sight changes to red. Use the cannons to destroy two wrecks marked on the map. The cannons will shoot where the camera is looking.
Optional objective: Successfully brace when attacked - 3.
Optional objective: Use the swivel guns to destroy ships -2.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Afterwards sail onwards and you will be ambushed by enemy ships. You need to destroy them by facing them sideways and using the cannons. For the additional objectives, you need to destroy both with the swivel guns and avoid being hit by sailing with the wind three times.
To destroy the last ship, shoot it twice with a cannon volley and afterwards finish off with the swivel gun. Soon afterwards the mission will end.
After a longer cutscene you will take control of Desmond and will have to climb to the top of a building. Start off by using the opposite ladder and then follow the pipes to the platform with a fluorescent lamp.
From there jump left to the ventilation shaft and run onwards while jumping between the scaffolding elements.
Eventually you will reach an empty warehouse where you will have to slide below a half-open gate.
Outside, jump right and climb onto the red crane.
Further road leads around the building along the scaffolding elements.
After reaching a bigger platform, climb the wires to the upper floor.
On the right you should see a big spool. Slide underneath it and run onwards.
To get higher, climb the leaned fence and keep heading right.
Jump between the scaffolding elements to go round the building from the right side.
That way you will reach another crane from which you will have to jump.
The first mission will begin in Boston. Start off by using fast travel to reach the Frontier and from there head to the town.
You can equally fast move to the shore, where Samuel Adams is waiting for you.
Optional objective: Stay below notoriety level 2.
Follow the man and afterwards help the fighting citizen. Try ending the fight as fast as possible so that you can avoid rising your notoriety level to 2. Otherwise you won't complete the optional objective.
After the fight you will be able to go meet with Adams and will also unlock district challenges. They have been described in a separate part of the guide.
Optional objective: Limit firearm use - 6
Optional objective: Use powder kegs to destroy smuggled cargo - 3.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Speak with Samuel and head to the shore. There you will receive a mission of destroying smuggled tea. To do that, approach the crates an press the interaction button so that Connor places a bomb which will blow up the cargo. However that way you won't be able to get full synchronization.
To complete the optional objective, you need to destroy the tea by using the gunpowder barrels lying nearby.
Pick them up with the interaction button, place beneath the cargo and shoot with a pistol. If you run out of ammunition, kill a nearby guard and use their rifles. However make sure not to use firearms more than 6 times to complete one of the objectives.
After everything blows up, head to the designated place and kill the tax collectors found there.
Your nest target will be smugglers who you can find walking through Boston. Kill two of them and the mission will end.
Optional objective: Limit time spent in open conflict - 0:15
Optional objective: Limit Chapheau's health loss - 50%
Optional objective: Perform low profile assassinations - 5.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Start following the angry chef. Your mission will be protecting him from the British soldiers. In order to obtain full synchronization, you need to limit open conflict to 15 seconds, don't let Chapheau lose more than 50% of his health and complete five silent assassinations.
Throughout the whole mission, a dozen or so meters in front of your companion and as soon as you see a soldier, approach him from behind and assassinate with the hidden blade. If you do it fast enough, you should enter an open conflict.
As for bigger groups, start off by eliminating 2-3 enemies with hidden blades and afterwards quickly finish off the others with firearms or quick counterattacks. That way you should be able to keep you companion from participating in any fight.
After reaching your main target, hold down the Assassins Guild button, choose assassination and press the same button again. That way you will order Chapheau to kill William Johnson's partner. The mission will end soon afterwards.
After speaking with Samuel, you will head to the harbor where you have to kill 15 soldiers. They are all marked on the map with red dots. Fighting them isn't hard, but remember to cover yourself from shooters by pressing the jump button.
Optional objective: Dump crates of tea in the water - 10
Optional objective: Throw redcoats in the water - 3
Optional objective: Perform musket air assassinations.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
With the last enemy killed, the second part of the mission will begin. You will have to protect your companions from the enemies until the tea is thrown into the water. This time you will also receive some additional objectives. Apart from fighting the British soldiers, you will have to dump 10 tea crates into the water. Do it at the very beginning before the enemies get to you. The boxes can be picked up with the interaction button and thrown with the jump button.
Your second objective will be throwing three British soldiers into the water. In order to do that, attack the soldiers who are standing at the shore. It's best to counter them and press the interaction button again during slow motion so that Connor throws the enemy.
The last mission is a bit harder. You need to perform an aerial attack while holding an enemy musket. The problem is that you can't climb onto a mast or ropes while holding the weapon.
To perform an aerial attack, you should stand onboard a ship and attack a soldier running onto it.
Afterwards help your companions throw the rest of the tea. That way you will end the mission.
You will receive the next mission after speaking with Achilles. After 6 months pass, head to the designated spot on the Frontier and meet with the member of your tribe.
Optional objective: Reach Johnson undetected.
Your mission will be reaching the Indians on the top of the rock. For full synchronization, you cannot be detected.
Start off by jumping down the branches to the shore of the river, swim to the other side and head out as far to the right as possible while looking out for the soldier patrolling the area.
Further to the right there will be a part between some rocks.
At its end, climb the fallen trunk and reach to the other side of the precipice.
From there you will have to get even higher, to the second tree.
Cross it and head further until you see a crack leading to the top.
Two guards will be waiting there. Kill them both from behind and go round the two next patrols from the right, heading towards the marked spot.
As you reach the big manor, a short cinematic will start.
Optional objective: Limit Native American casualties - 0.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Afterwards you will have to climb the roof of the building and kill Johnson from above. use the nearby trees for that and avoid the enemies on your way.
Perform the task as fast as possible, as you won't be able to achieve full synchronization if any of the Indians die.
Optional objective: Perform a swan dive to escape.
With the enemy dead on the ground, run towards the river and slightly to the left. There you will find a rock from which you will be able to jump into the water and therefore complete the last optional objective.
Afterwards leave the red zone and the mission will end.
Meet with Paul Revere at the Boston pier.
Optional objective: Do not trigger open conflict.
After a longer cutscene you will find yourself on a horse and will have to ride in the direction pointed by your companion. Press the Assassins Guild button from time to time to make sure you're going the right direction. In order to avoid fights, avoid the patrols or wait for them to move along.
After you reach the village, get off your horse, wait for the British soldiers to move a bit further and use Eagle Vision. You will have to knock on the shining door.
Do the same thing in the next village. If you come across a stream on your way, search for a ford and cross it there.
Optional objective: Reach Prescott's location within the given time - 2:00.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
The third village is found right across the bridge.
As only you knock on the door of the manor there, you will be attacked by British soldiers.
You will have to escape to riding as fast as possible to the green zone marked on the map. Prescott's house is found there. In order to lose the chase, take a sharp turn right at the fork nearby the stream.
A few meters further you should ride off the road and through the ford. When the enemies stop chasing you, Prescott's manor will be once again marked on the map.
Find the manor using Eagle Vision and knock on the door.
After a short talk, start riding from one point to the next until you reach Adams. There the mission will end.
After the cutscene, quickly get onto the nearest horse and ride towards the direction marked on the map. You need to reach Concord before time runs out.
Optional objective: Rescue civilian hostages.
In one of the villages you will receive an additional objective of saving the civilians.
Quickly turn left then, kill all the soldiers and move on towards the green points. As you reach the destination point, the second part of the mission will begin.
Optional objective: Kill groups of regulars with a single order - 7.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Now you will have to move trough three groups of shooters and give them orders with the interaction button. You need to do it when the approaching enemies will stop or stand close to each other. Don't wait for the order to be executed, instead immediately move to the next group. Whether a give group needs your help can be checked on the mini-map. Red dots will mark the attackers.
To get full synchronization, you need to approach the groups a bit earlier and press the interaction button when they are all already aiming at the British soldiers. They will then shoot more or less at the same time and therefore quickly eliminating the enemies. You need to do it seven times. Give further orders right after approaching a given group and afterwards move to other groups.
Your task is killing 130 enemies. Your progress is represented by the bar in the upper left corner of the screen. If losses amongst your forces will be too high, you will fail the mission.
After winning the battle, head to the marked spot and end the mission.
Speak with the scout and follow him to the camp to speak with the commander.
Optional objective: Cross Charlestown without taking damage.
When the cutscene ends, you will receive a mission of reaching the enemy ship. For that however, you will have to cross a bombarded town.
In order to avoid damage, go maximally to the right after reaching the main road and stick to the edge of the location (grey Animus wall).
That way you will reach the harbor and from there will be able to swim to the marked point.
Optional objective: Air assassinate a Grenadier.
Optional objective: Remain undetected while on ships.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
After you reach the target, you will receive a task of blowing up the two nearby ships and two additional objectives: air assassinating a grenadier and remaining unnoticed by the crew of the ships. Start off by swimming around the ship on the left and grab the edge of the ship. Hanging from the deck, you need to eliminate two patrolling soldiers.
If they don't approach you close enough for you to throw them into the ocean, get aboard the ship for a second and leave it right afterwards. That way you will draw them to the edge of the ship. Just remember to kill the enemies one at a time when the others aren't looking.
With both enemies eliminated, approach the marked spot and press the hold down the interaction button so that Connor plants the explosive charge.
Leave the ship before the bomb explodes and swim to the second one.
Onboard you can find a characteristic grenadier which you can recognize by his characteristic hat. Don't kill him right now.
Instead, eliminate the enemy walking nearby the edge and the soldier standing by the end of the ship. Kill the latter one when the grenadier faces the other direction.
With both enemies dead, climb the pile of crate by the mast and kill the grenadier from there. That way you will complete the optional objective.
Now you can plant the charge and run to the water.
After the explosion, return to the wreck and climb the mast to change the flag.
After reaching the shore, the mission will end.
In order to begin the mission, get onto the horse standing by the shore and follow the scout to the patriots camp.
Optional objective: Cross the battlefield without taking damage.
Listen to the general's speech and quickly hide behind the nearest cover. You will have to reach the designated spot without taking any damage. For that, you will have to run between consecutive covers 2-3 seconds after you hear the cover command. That way you should see bullets hitting the ground right beside you. Remember not to press the free run button when behind cover as Connor might lean out and get hit.
Start off by heading left all the way.
From behind the third rock you will have to run to the fall tree on the right.
After the next salvo is fired, quickly head to the green point on the left. That way you will complete the optional objective.
From there, follow the forest path straight, killing enemies you come across on your way.
To reach the next point, you need to climb onto the rock on the right. The proper "path" can be found right next to the edge of the location. At the top you will receive another mission.
Optional objective: Limit regular kills - 4
Optional objective: Air assassinate Pitcairn without being detected.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Your target will be the British commander, Pitcairn himself. However for full synchronization, you will need to assassinate him from the air and not kill too many enemies on your way.
Start off by heading into the nearby bushes and go maximally to the left. on your way you will pass by two single enemies.
Kill them silently from behind, far away from others.
After the death of the second soldier, climb onto the leaned tree and afterwards onto the neighbouring one.
You will get higher by pressing the jump button.
Right beside there's a mast with a flag onto which you can jump.
Wait there for the guards to walk away from Pitcairn and kill him from above. That way you will end the sequence.
To begin the mission, use fast travel to get to New York and afterwards follow your contact on a horse.
That way you will reach a marketplace, from where you will have to follow the mysterious counterfeiter.
Follow them while hiding behind groups of people and edges of buildings.
Optional objective: Perform a successful static eavesdrop.
At some point the man will meet with his associate. Run up the stairs on the right and hide behind the above barrel. From there you will be able to eavesdrop on the whole conversation without having to move. That way you will complete the optional objective.
Optional objective: Perform a successful mobile eavesdrop.
Keep following the counterfeiter until you reach the place of the second meeting. This time you will have to follow the two men without leaving the eavesdrop circle. You can follow the targets just like before, but while staying inside the circle all the time.
Optional objective: Do not tackle of shove anyone.
Eventually you will reach their hideout, where you will have to chase Hickey. What really matters here is the beginning. As only the cinematic ends, quickly press the free run button to free yourself of the battle. Afterwards keep it pressed down and turn into the first (!) street to the left (instead of chasing Hickey, it's better to outrun him and block his path).
Afterwards head to the second alley on the right and turn left.
Behind the second wooden stairs you will have to once again run right.
At the end of the street you will see an indoor market. Run around it from the left side and wait for Hickey there. When he appears, catch up with him with the free run button pressed and press the attack button to knock him down. Unfortunately this game element isn't done so well and sometimes Connor might not react at all. Therefore you should try to be as close as 1-2 steps behind before attacking him. If you're in front him, Connor probably won't know how to react. The path described above is one of the easiest ones and will let you avoid bigger groups of people. Only by not hitting any pedestrians will you be able to complete the optional objective.
After taking control of your character, approach the hole in the wall and eavesdrop on the conversation of your fellow prisoners. When they finish talking, go to sleep.
In the morning, leave the cell and follow the guard. After you reach the other floor, use Eagle Vision and note the man with the yellow glow. Speak to him.
After a short puzzle, rob the marked prisoner and return to sleep to your cell.
Unfortunately the key won't work. Speak with the Mason and you will receive a task of starting a brawl.
For that, approach the marked men and attack them. To win, you need to initiate slow motion with the counterattack button, knock enemies out of balance with the jump button and attack afterwards.
Optional objective: Limit prison guard deaths - 2.
After ending up locked in a cell, steal the key from the guard by the grates and head outside.
Now you will have to slowly follow the guard and quickly run upstairs as he turns left.
Optional objective: Reach Hickey within the given time - 2:00.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
After speaking with your associate, quickly approach the room in front of you. As only the guard passes by, turn right and run up the stairs to the very top.
There you will be noticed by another enemy. Hide in the nearby cell and kill him when he approaches.
Now you have to quickly run to the marked goal and press the interaction button. If you're fast enough, the mission will end without the guard ever noticing what happened.
After the cutscene, head forward all the way to the gallows.
During the execution, you have to press the Assassin Guild button when prompted.
Optional objective: Washington's bodyguards must survive.
Optional objective: Kill enemy militia - 2.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Soon afterwards you will land on the ground and will have to kill Hickey. Start off by running after your target and when he stops, quickly press the jump button to knock him down.
You should do it before he manages to kill Washington's bodyguards. Unfortunately whether you will make it in time is a matter of luck mostly. If Hickey doesn't get blocked by someone in the crowd, he will easily be able to kill one of the guards. To complete the optional objective, you will have to replay this part until you eventually manage to make it in time.
With Hickey on the ground, stand beside him and wait for the militia to attack. You should counter their attacks and afterwards perform a series of three deadly blows, with the last one lethal for Hickey. If there's only one militia, reload the game or knock over the Templar again in hope that someone approaches you and you will be able to use him for full synchronization.
After Hickey's death, follow Achilles, open the door and end the sequence.
As you gain control over Desmond, go to the upper floor and approach the gates.
Unfortunately the guards there won't let you pass.
In order to get pass them, start off by heading out through the door on the right.
That way you will reach a small courtyard with more guards.
Hide in the bushes and afterwards use the passage on the left.
Afterwards you will have to head forward, sticking to groups of people at all times. That way you will stay invisible to the guards.
As you reach the end of the room, go down the stairs to the toilet and exit through the other side.
A bit further you will find another passage, this time on the right.
Move onwards to an open window leading to a staircase.
The next floor is patrolled by an Abstergo guard. Follow him slowly and wait for him to turn around while hidden amongst other people. As he passes by, you will be able to move onwards to one of the boxes.
After you get there, climb the construction part and head to the opposite corner of the building.
Inside the corridor you will witness a murder.
Chase the murderer and beat him as he stops.
After obtaining the power source, the guards will start chasing you. Run away from him towards the underground. The path will be marked by blue markings. The mission will end as you enter the car.
You can now enter the Animus or use the obtained artifact. In the latter case, head to the previously opened passage to right of the machine.
As you listen to the goddess, keep running upwards while jumping between broken staircases.
As the stairs end, keep going onwards to the stone ramp. Don't climb it however. Instead, go down the stairs to the very bottom and enter the room on the left.
There you will be able to climb up the wall, to the next panel. Use it to unlock the next gate.
You should go there after collecting the third source. However for now return to the Animus.
After taking control of Connor, ride your horse to the place marked on the map and speak with Washington. He will give you a mission of finding the person responsible for stealing the supplies.
For that, head to the abandoned church where you will meet with your father.
Speak with him and afterwards look for traces of the thief. The first trace can be found on the road in front of the building.
The second is on the road as well, but a bit to the left.
Optional objective: Catch the cart driver within the given time - 0:30.
Examine them, head to the green zone marked on the map and start chasing the cart. For full synchronization, you will have to catch the man within 30 seconds. It's not that difficult, though you will have to remember to hold the jump button at all times during the run. As you're nearing the target, equip bare feasts and attack to knock the enemy down.
Optional objective: Do not hide in the hay cart while following the convoy.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
As you're done interrogating the driver, head to the market spot and follow the convoy passing by there. You can do it by jumping into the hay cart, though that won't let you reach full synchronization.
To complete the optional objective, you will have to follow the thieves along the roadside. You cannot let them notice you or exit the eavesdrop circle for too long. The best way of avoiding the guards is to follow the convoy from the right side while sticking to the edge of the circle. That way you won't come across any enemy.
Optional objective: Kill camp guards without being detected - 3.
After reaching the destination, jump out of the cart into the bushes on the right and quickly kill the soldier on the left.
When he's dead, follow the two gang members while staying within the circle.
It's best to stick to the right side of the passage. From the bushes there you will be able to kill the second enemy.
The third one is waiting for you in the hut by which the pair of thieves will stop.
As you reach the end of the camp, you will note that your father has been captured by the mercenaries. Free him and kill all thirteen enemies to end the memory.
Start off by following Haytham do Church's warehouses.
Optional objective: Do not get detected while stealing the mercenary outfit.
As you reach the destination point, you will have to obtain an outfit of one of the guards in order to get inside.
For that, head to the marked spot and climb onto the roof on the building. A British soldier will be waiting there.
Kill him silently and afterwards attack the guard walking below from above.
Hold down the interaction button to take off his outfit and therefore end the memory.
Optional objective: Limit Haytham's health loss - 50%
After you enter the warehouse and speak with the man inside, you will be attacked by a group of mercenaries. Kill them quickly with counterattacks, while making sure your father doesn't lose too much health.
When the fight is over, the warehouse will start burning. Run after your father and eventually you will fall down to a lower level.
From there, head to the next collapsed staircase and climb onto the burning wall. Look out not to touch the flames or you won't get a full synchronization. As you reach the top, hold down the free run button and press jump.
That way you will reach a platform hanging from the ceiling.
From there jump to the other side of the warehouse and climb up to end the mission.
Optional objective: Limit environmental damage - 20%
After meeting with your father, you will take control of the ship and will have to sail between Caribbean isles. Start off with half sails so that you can maneuver and avoid damaging the ship.
Optional objective: Stay within distance of the schooner - 500.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
As you reach the abandoned ship, a bit further you will see the refugee. Start chasing him.
As you're sailing through the rocks, it's most important to manage your sails. Because of the strong wind, each time you go full sails, the ship will turn very sharply. You can use it to quickly avoid obstacles. If the wind is bad, go half sails and maneuver the ship. You need to get the most of the wind so that the enemy doesn't escape.
After reaching the designated spot, you will receive a task of destroying the red enemies. Attack them with the cannons and swivel gun while looking out not to hit the big ship.
After destroying the last enemy, fold down the equipment button and choose the Chain Shot ammunition.
Using them, you will have to break the mast of the last ship. Shoot it by holding down and then letting go of the run button. Eventually one of the shots should reach it.
After you manage to do it, slowly approach the ship and jump aboard.
Optional objective: Achieve a minimum kill streak - 3.
Your main task will be now to kill the three officers marked with red. Additionally to complete the optional objective, you will have to perform a streak of 3 kills.
To do that, run to the commander in front of you right after getting aboard the ship.
He will lead you to the end of the ship, where you will be attacked by a group of enemies. It's the best place for a kill streak.
Another good spot can be found on the other side of the ship. It's also where the other officers are waiting for you.
To begin the mission, head out to meet with your father in New York.
After a short cutscene, run after him until you reach the rendezvous point of British officers. You need to exactly follow your companion, so that the nearby guards don't detect you.
Optional objective: Use guards as human shields - 2.
As you reach your destination, jump down and start the fight. If you want to complete the optional objective, initially focus on dodging enemy attacks and wait for the officers to use firearms. Press the jump button by the nearest soldier and use his body to block the shot. Do it twice to complete the objective.
Optional objective: Tackle the target from above.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
With the last enemy killed, you will have to chase the officer. In order to catch up with his fast, don't follow him into the narrow alley but instead run forwards all the way. Turn right only after reaching the big square and wait there for the officer.
As he shows up, let him overtake you by a couple meters and afterwards run to him and press the attack button to knock him down to the ground. Remember to have fists equipped.
In order to obtain full synchronization, you need to overtake your enemy by a couple meters and afterwards turn right and then left.
In the narrow street there will be a laundry string. From there you can jump down onto your target. However run up only when the officer is nearby, or you will be shot down by the guards.
After catching the man, lead him to the fort by pushing him with the jump button. The mission will end there.
Optional objective: Stop Patriot messengers within the time limit - 3:00.
Optional objective: Do not touch the ground.
Start off by stocking up on pistol ammunition. Afterwards head to Washington's camp and speak with the Patriot leader. When you're done, ride your horse to the designated place, from where you should head onto the green path.
On your way you will pass by messengers which you have to kill. Do it with the pistol so that you don't have to get down to the ground unnecessarily.
You might also try killing them with the hidden blades, though as Connor jumps between horses there's always a chance of him missing and therefore failing the optional objective.
Optional objective: Stop the Kanien'keha with non-lethal methods.
As you reach the Indian village and meat with the shaman, you will receive yet another objective. You need to head into the woods and stop the members of your tribe.
Leave the village and the Indians will be marked with red dots on the map. Sneak to them from behind and stun with bare hands. That way you will get a full synchronization.
After eliminating the last warrior, a short cutscene will start. During it you will have to press the prompted button at the right moment and afterwards the mission will end.
Optional objective: Neutralize platoons with a single cannonball - 8.
Optional objective: Kill 2 platoons using a single cannonball.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
The beginning of the missions focuses on shooting the cannon into the approaching British soldiers. Use the left analog stick to aim and the jump button to shoot. Always be sure to eliminate the enemies marked with red dots in the first place. They are the closest and might hurt your units. To end the mission, you can't lose all of your soldiers before the time ends.
To get a full synchronization, try to make the aim circle embrace a whole platoon. Fire eight times like that and the first objective will be completed. It will be a bit harder to destroy two platoons with one cannonball. You should try to embrace two platoons standing in one row for that. Also remember that the two platoons don't have to be complete.
Optional objective: Prevent patriot executions - 3.
As you're done with the cannon, run forward and jump onto the nearby horse. You will have to ride it from one green point to the other until the mission ends.
For the optional objective, you will have to keep an eye on the surroundings. You should be passing by three groups of British soldiers preparing to execute a Patriot. In order to stop them, you just need to run or ride your horse into their line of fire. Afterwards you don't have to fight the enemies but continue onwards to the target. You have a limited amount of time.
After you reach the Abstergo headquarters, move onwards until you're attacked by a security group. Defeat them quickly and enter the elevator\.
When the lift stops, start climbing up. The path will you along both sides of the elevator shaft.
Upstairs there will be more enemies waiting for you. Kill them, enter the room on the left and keep heading forward while eliminating the attackers.
Eventually you will reach a corridor with a broken window where you will be attacked by Cross. After a short cutscene, start chasing him.
Inside the big room, try to move constantly so that the guards cannot hit you.
Your task is to kill the running Templar.
After you manage to do it, you will reach the fifth floor where Vidic is hiding. To find him, firstly turn left and afterwards run straight all the way, killing all enemies on your way.
After the last of them is dead, the secretary will open the door to the boss' office.
During the conversation with Vidic, press the attack button to activate the apple.
In order to leave the building, you will once again have to press the button and afterwards head forward all the way.
As you reach the cave once again, go up the stairs on the right and move onwards, jumping over the holes in the ruins.
After the first animation with Juno you will have to climb up to the upper floor, jumping between orange crystals.
Upstairs, turn left and jump onto two pipes. Using them you will reach a wall full of crystals.
Climb it even higher and follow the orange crystals.
That way you will reach the spot where Desmond will use the power source.
After a short conversation you will be able to return to the Animus at once or speak with the team members beforehand.
Optional objective: Destroy ships using only one broadside - 3.
As you take control over Connor again, head to the docks and begin another memory.
As you control the ship, you will have to destroy a dozen of nearby enemy ships. For full synchronization, three of them should be destroyed with a single salvo each. It's not all that easy and often depends on luck, but always remember to aim at the smaller units which are easier to destroy.
Optional objective: Destroy frigates by firing on their powder stores - 2.
With most of them destroyed, three frigates will appear.
To complete the optional objective, you will need to destroy two of them with the swivel gun by aiming at their powder stores, marked with a circle.
Eventually you will have to deal with a powerful liner. Start off by ramming it and board it.
Optional objective: Counter kill enemies - 5.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
As you reach the deck, you will have to find and kill the captain. Before you do it however, defeat 5 enemies with simple counterattacks.
In one part of the ship you will come across a group of riflemen. Try eliminating them as fast as possible or hide behind a wall and fight there.
After you kill the captain, quickly leave the ship before the gunpowder explodes. That way you will end the mission.
To begin the mission, go down into the sewers and keep heading towards the marked spot.
That way you will reach an exit leading to the fort.
Optional objective: Reach the signal tower within the given time - 3:00.
Optional objective: Remain undetected on the way to the signal fire.
Optional objective: Limit health loss - 50%.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
After getting outside, silently kill the closest guard and climb onto the building on the right.
Now you can keep jumping between the roofs in the designated order, silently killing the guards on your way. The soldiers' reaction time is delayed, so you should have problems with escaping their sight.
As you reach the last building, jump down to the hay pile below and kill the nearby enemy.
You will now have to wait for the guard on the left to turn around and afterwards quickly run to the right wall of the tower. There you will come across another enemy which you have to eliminate.
With him dead, climb onto the tower and light the signal fire.
After the explosion, head further a bit and you will have to fight with Haytham. To defeat him, you will need to perform counterattacks beside pieces of the environment such as barrels and press the prompted buttons. That way you will end the sequence.
Optional objective: Limit regular kills - 15
To begin the mission, head to the cemetery where you will be caught by the Templar soldiers.
NOTICE! In order to obtain full synchronization, make sure you have at least one arrow before beginning this mission. It will make completing optional objectives easier.
Counter the enemy attacks and kill two groups of enemies.
The further path will leady you to a ferry marked on the map. Climb it and go round from the right. You need to reach the designated spot.
From there you have to reach the nearby window and eavesdrop on the conversation.
When the men are done talking, slowly move further to the right, get aboard the ship and follow the guard behind his back to the marked spot.
Hidden behind the boxes, eavesdrop on the second conversation.
Optional objective: Escape the HMS Jersey without entering into open conflict.
Optional objective: Kill the HMS Jersey's captain.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
You will now have to leave the ship. If you're not interested in the optional objectives, you can just jump into the sea and the mission will end. However killing the captain without raising an alarm isn't all that hard, as all you have to do is climb onto the roof and shoot him from a bow.
To begin the last mission, head to the inn at Boston and interrogate the man inside. He will tell you that Charles Lee can be found in the docks.
Optional objective: Stay within range of Lee - 50.
Optional objective: Do not shove anyone during the chase.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Use Eagle Vision in the marked area of the shore and find the Templar. As you approach him, the chase will begin.
Start off by quickly jumping to the seashore to avoid the first group of guards.
The second and third group can be avoided by jumping along nearby barrels. You can also run into the soldiers and perform a dodge to make Connor jump forward and avoid getting hit.
The last group can be avoided by cutting the left turn. A couple more steps and the optional objective will be complete. You won't have to worry so much about the distance of shoving pedestrians, though you still won't be able to lose Charles.
Optional objective: Do not take any fire damage.
Start off by turning right to the burning shipyard and slip under the wooden blockade.
From there you have to run onto the wall on the right and afterwards jump left.
By the end of the ship there will be a cinematic after which you will have to jump through a hole in the wooden barricade and run further to the right.
To catch up with your target, you should run around the construction and slide under one of the wooden barricades.
After you reach the target, slowly move towards the shore. A man waiting there will take you to where Lee went.
Enter the tavern and watch a long cinematic. Afterwards you will once again take control of Desmond.
Open the big red gate and afterwards run straight along the path. That way you will finish Assassin's Creed III. Congratulations!
After the credits roll, you will enter the shoes of Connor once again. Now you can complete all the previously ignored additional missions and find the collectibles. Apart from that you have to epilogue missions, in the form of short cutscenes.
After you finish the game, three more short mission forming an epilogue will appear on the map. The last of them can be found in Boston, where you will learn of the so called Pivot points which you have to find in order to unlock cheats in the game options. How to do it?
Start off by making sure you're connected to the Internet, turn on the map and check the "Animus Synching" tab. There you will find information on the available pivots and a map with the locations of the others.
Two first pivot points will be marked on the map of Boston. The line which goes through them divides the city into two halves and the green colour marks the area where the next artifact is hidden. If you click on an existing point you will be able to delete it and pressing the Connor icon will place a third point where you're standing.
By manipulating the lines, you can widen the area. Using the two first points, you can tell in which half the artifact is. Place a third pivot point and you will form a triangle. If it's green, it means that the artifact is within its field. Otherwise, remove one of the points, run to a different location and place the points there. It's easiest to search for artifacts in cities, as you can use fast travel which speeds things up considerably.
The first pivot can always be found in Boston on the roof of a building, but others are placed by other players in various places.
To find where the next pivot has been hidden, head to the "Pivots Info" menu. You can move through it with the right analog stick. There you will also find the time when further pivots become unlocked.
Pivots are needed in order to unlock cheats in the game menu. Below you will find a full list:
1. Immortality.
2. Unlimited ammunition.
2. Ability to change seasons.
3. Ability to change weather.
4. Lightning strikes after each kill.
5. Ability to change time of day.
6. No firearms reload time.
7. Enemies can be assassinated even during an open conflict.
8. Ability to call in recruits without any limits.
9. Enemies ignore you completely.
The combat system in Assassin's Creed III focuses mainly on quick counter-attacks and combos. In order to counter an attack, you need to wait for a red triangle to appear above an enemy's head and hold down the counter button. Time will slow down and you will be able to lead out one of three attacks:
In most cases normal attacks are the best choice, through there are enemies who can block it, for example Jagers, Grenadiers or Captains. In order to defeat them, firstly knock them down or disarm and then quickly finish off the defenceless enemy. All attacks can also be used without countering, though they are less effective then.
If you see a yellow triangle above an enemy's head, it will mark that that enemy is preparing to lead out a special attack. Those kinds of attacks cannot be blocked in a standard way. In order to avoid them, quickly strafe or jump aside with the counter button. In case of ranged weapons, you can additionally hide behind a human shield. For that, approach the nearest soldier and press the jump button.
An interesting addition to this installment are double kills. In order to execute them, you have to counter the attacks of two enemies attacking at the same time. A very effective animation will stars, during which Connor will get rid of both of them in a flashy way.
The best way of eliminating a big group of enemies is using combos. You can use them after each counter - while Connor is killing one enemy, quickly point the analog stick towards another enemy while pressing the attack button. The target will get killed instantly. Repeat the same process during the killing animation to move to the next target and so on. Just remember to use the counter button when you see a red triangle above an enemy's head! If you don't the combo will be broken.
Guns were widely used during the time of the American revolution. Connor can of course use them as well. As for ranged weapons, his basic equipment includes a pistol and an Indian bow, but you can also use muskets left by soldiers.
In order to use one of the above weapons, you need to hold down and let go of the proper button. It's a basic method which works well with nearby targets.
Where higher precision is needed, you need to hold down the aim button before shooting and move the dot to the proper position with the right analog stick.
Assassin's Creed III also introduces changes to the health system, eliminating health potions known from previous games. Connor can no longer regain all of his health points with just one press of a button, making long battles far more difficult. Instead, the health bar refills slowly with time. When you're outside of combat, your health regenerated much faster.
Connor is a member of the Assassins Brotherhood, which makes it possible for him to use a set of tools for quick and silent assassinations. His basic weapon is a pair of hidden blades on both of his wrists. Thanks to them he can quietly kill nearby enemies. In order to use them, approach a target and press the attack button. Connor will automatically perform a fast execution. You can also get rid of two enemies at the same time, but they have to be standing beside each other and looking the other direction.
Hidden blades can also be used when attacking from above. When you're standing on a roof or tree and see an enemy below you, aim the camera at him. The enemy will be lit. One press of the attack button will end his life.
A new feature of Assassin's Creed III is the possibility of attacking enemies behind corners of buildings. As you approach the edge of a building, you will be able to whistle to lure an enemy towards you by pressing the interaction button. When the enemy gets close enough, attack normally and Connor will automatically attack the target, at the same time pulling his corpse behind the wall.
Aside from hidden blades, Connor can also use ranged weapons for assassination. This group includes the bow, poison and rope darts. You can use them just like the pistol, but they don't make any noise. The specific feature of the rope dart is that you can hang enemies on it.
In order to perform this action, you need to hide on a straight beam or tree branch above the enemy and hold down the shoot button. When Connor uses the dart, pull the left analog stick in your direction. Connor will jump down and pull the enemy up.
The notoriety level defines how committed the guards are to find Connor. It increases when you engage in an open combat, kill them in public, steal from them or just act suspiciously (run between rooftops or push people). You current notoriety level can be seen in the lower left corner of the screen, right beside the mini-map.
There are four notoriety level which in the ways enemies behave:
Incognito
When incognito, enemies don't pay attention to you unless you behave suspiciously.
Level 1
Guards will keep an eye on you and eventually approach you to make sure whether you're wanted.
Level 2
Enemies approach your on sight and attack afterwards.
Level 3
Enemies attack you on sight and the number of patrols increases.
Notoriety can be reduced by doing one of the below three things:
Take down Connor wanted posters (-1 level).
Bribe town criers (-2 levels).
Bribe printers (-3 levels).
The location of each of the above will be marked on your map whenever you earn the first level of notoriety. In order to lower it, approach a poster, crier or printer and interact with them. You can do it only when you're not chased or attacked by enemies.
Just like previous installments, Assassin's Creed III lets you use the free run mode. By holding down the appropriate button, you can jump between roofs of buildings, climb trees or quickly avoid obstacles. The system has been improved, so that unplanned moves happen as rarely as possible.
While in free run, Connor will never automatically perform a jump which can cause him to fall or lose health. In order to jump down from a high place, you will need to press the jump button. The same button can be used for quick climbing and jumping above small obstacles automatically (by holding down the button and running into them).
Horses make a return in Assassin's Creed III. After completing one of the main sequences, Connor will receive his own horse which he can choose from the equipment menu. Call in the animal by quickly pressing the shoot button and climb it with the jump button.
Connor's ability to attack other enemies on horses is very useful. In order to perform it, you need to approach the enemy and press the attack button. If you're chasing an enemy, you can also use the pistol.
A new addition to Assassin's Creed III are big and vast forests. Moving between trees is very similar to navigating cities, but features a few special principles. Basically, during free run, Connor will always move horizontally through the forest. When running along a branch he will come across a trunk, he will avoid it and move to the branch on the other side.
If you want to climb higher, you need to use the jump button. The same button can be used when standing between two branches to make Connor climb higher.
Forest climbing paths usually begin with fallen trees. From them you can easily reach upper parts of the woods.
Another new addition are complex rock formations which you can climb by using narrow ledges and wide, vertical cracks.
Fast travel was already available in the previous installments, but AC III lets you use it directly from the map. If you have discovered a given area, just click on it and Connor will automatically move there.
Points connecting big, separate locations such as Boston and Frontier are unlocked in the first place. There is however a possibility of discovering fast travel paths inside cities as well, in the form of vast sewers. In order to discover them, you need to head underground and find them.
The proper path will be marked by arrows on the walls and special symbols that will become lit after setting fire to torches hanging from the walls (interaction button).
Search for them on forks in the road.
After reaching the exit, you will have to solve a simple puzzle. Sewer maps and puzzle descriptions have been included in the further chapters of the guide.
Various hideouts are the best friends of any assassin, letting you sneak to your victim or lose a pursuit. Below you will find a list of "disappearing" methods available in AC III.
Haystacks - hay piles which you may know from the previous installments are very common in Boston and its peripherals. Just run into them and Connor will automatically jump inside. You can also hide in hay transported on carts. That way you can pass by road patrols unnoticed.
Wells - they work just as hay piles, but you can move along their ledges.
Crowds - if you see a group of 3-4 people standing beside each other, approach them slowly and mix into the crowd. Likewise, you can "disappear" by standing beside people leaning against a hedge or wall of a building or by sitting on a bench.
Building interiors - as you're trying to lose a pursuit, you may come across doors leading inside various buildings. Head inside and Connor will quickly get through the apartment and exit onto the street on the other side. It's a very useful shortcut thanks to which you can quickly lose a pursuit.
Bushes - dense and tall bushes which grow between trees and beside stream shores can be used to hide as well. Just get inside them slowly and Connor will quickly disappear from the sight of the pursuit. Just remember that you will exit your hideout when you start running.
Water - while you're in a harbor or by a river shore, it's easiest to hide underwater. In order to dive, pres the interaction button. You can move while underwater, but remember that Connor will eventually swim to the surface to breathe in and won't be able to dive back for some time.

To open the lock, move the left analog stick left twice and the right analog stick to the right twice as well.
To clear the passage, shoot the gunpowder barrel on the other side of the barricade. Further on you will have to solve a puzzle.
Use the left analog stick to turn the lens and the jump button to change the active one.
They should be placed in the following order: letter at the top, weight at the bottom, the circle with a cross on the left and the circle with an arrow on the right.
Keep turning both valves in opposite directions until the door opens. There aren't many combinations, so you should make it rather fast.
Inside one of the rooms you will find a lever which is used to lower and rise the elevator. Before using it, place a lantern on the platform.
With the item above, climb to it along the wall on the right. On the upper floor, once again leave the source of light and crawl through the narrow hole.
Behind it you will find a wall which can be used to climb even higher. Jump through two precipices there and you will reach a room on the other side of the grate.
From there, unlock the door, pick up the lantern and run forward.
Shoot the barrel through the wooden barrier and get to the other side along the corridor on the right.
Soon enough you should come across another lens puzzle. You need to place the lens in the following order: feather on the left, crown above, man on the right and letter below.
The puzzle will require you to place lens in proper positions. The order should be as follows: cross on the left, globe above, circle on the right and the weight below.
To open the gate, move the left analog stick left and afterwards the right analog to the right three times. That way you will turn the valves and open the door.

To open the door, move the left analog stick left, the right twice to the right and afterwards the left twice more times to the left.
To open the gate, move the left stick twice to the left, the right stick to the right and afterwards the left three times to the left.
Nearby the Brewery exit you should see a gunpowder barrel.
Place it beside the wooden barricade and blow it up to unlock another tunnel.
Get rid of it just like obstacle number 3.
Place the lens in the following order: eye above, weight on the right, the below and the cross on the left.
Go round the grate from the left by jumping between rocks.
Turn the spinning wheel to lower the lift and afterwards jump through the grate to open it from the other side.
Jump through the second door as well and turn the spinning wheel. That way you will open the gate. The third passage can be unlocked by going round it from the left. from the wooden barrel, run onto the wall and jump further straight and to the right.
To open the door, place the lens in the following order: eye above, crown on the right, letter below and the eagle on the left.
To get pass the grate, you need to jump between two walls and avoid the falling water. Start off by climbing onto the wall on the left, hold down the free run button and press jump. Proceed doing so until you teach the top.
To open the door, move the left analog stick to the left, the right to the right and afterwards the left to the right. That way you will turn the valves in the proper way.
To get past this obstacle, jump right from the left wall and blow up the barrel on the other side of the room. That way you will unlock a passage behind the barricade and will be able to open the door. Get past the next obstacle in the same way.
To open the door, place the lens in the following order: sun above, letter on the right, weight below and circle on the left.
The woods surrounding Boston are inhabited by a big amount of various animals. Hunting them, you can obtain numerous skins and antlers which you can later on sell or use in the village to create even more valuable goods. Below you will find rules which you should follow as a good hunter.
While hunting, you should only use the bow, hidden blades and snares. Others weapons are just as effective when it come to killing, but skins from animals killed with a sword are of much worse quality than those killed with a bow.
While in the woods, pay attention especially to bushes and places marked with a magnifying glass icon. If you approach and interact with them, you will learn what kind of animal can be found in the area. The nearest animal of that kind will also be marked on the mini-map with a red dot.
Different parts of the woods are inhabited by various types of animals. Information of types of animals can be found in the proper part of the map screen. In order to discover all species of a given area, you must hunt them or find their traces.
In order to avoid being detected by an animal, use dense bushes and tall trees. Moving along the branches, you can silently approach your victim and kill it with a fast aerial attack.
Snares and baits are two items which are very handy when hunting small and timid animals. If you discover traces of, for example, a rabbit, equip snares, place them where the animal was before and throw some bait onto them. You can hide in the nearby bushes and watch the animal or head completely elsewhere and return afterwards.
Skinning hunted animals is trivially easy. Just approach a dead animal and press the interaction button and Connor will automatically cut out everything that's of any use.
Before the revolution, Boston was a city under full control of the Templars, who managed to almost completely destroy local Assassin Guild. Your mission will be reconstructing the brotherhood and regain all the districts from your enemies. In order to begin, start with finding a district challenge icon on the map.
As you reach the designated spot, you will receive a short mission of killing a given soldier and saving oppressed citizen. Complete it and another marker will be placed on the map, pointing the person which you should contact. For now however he won't have much to tell.
Before receiving the mission of regaining the district, you will have to complete a few lesser tasks, similar to or identical as the one from which you begun. Unfortunately, they won't be marked on your map. In order to discover them, you will have to circle the area, searching for Templars harassing the citizens. Each completed mission will reduce the enemy faction's influence.
When the contact finally agrees to cooperate, complete the received mission to free the district from Templar reign. What are the benefits? Firstly, in regained districts you won't be bothered by Templars anymore, though British soldiers will still patrol them. Another benefit will be that you will receive a new recruit.
NOTICE! The first guild member can be recruited by completing Sequence 6 of the main story mode.
When you recruit the first new member, new options regarding the organization will appear. By holding down the guild button you can choose the functions which the new recruits will realize or enter the mission screen. The first option lets you choose between assassination and riots. Both can be launched by pressing the guild button. By choosing assassination you can murder a designated target, while the second option lets you start riots which will draw the attention of guards. You can learn more skills by recruiting new members.
The mission screen is used to send recruits onto different kinds of missions. Completing them gives them experience and lets Connor get useful items and gold.
After completing a mission in a given area, you will be able to complete further ones and eventually completely take over the territory from the Templars. Regained areas will provide Connor a constant income. When choosing missions, note the difficulty level marked by the amount of stars beside it. The higher it is, the more experienced recruits you will need to complete it. The percentage chance of success will be displayed as you assign assassins to a given errand.
In order to ensure a high cash inflow, it's worth to complete as many missions as possible. You however have to remember that assassins on missions become inaccessible for some time and can't help you during your fights in Boston. If you want to gain full district synchronization, you need to unlock all recruits and get them to level 11.

Eliminating the guards who are escorting prisoners.
Catch up with and kill the guard who's chasing the man.
Speak with the man to receive a mission of killing the officer recruiting new members to the Templar army.
To complete the mission discretely, go round the building from the left, whistle at the nearest enemy and kill him from behind the corner with a hidden blade.
Eliminate the second enemy from the nearby bushes. He will be busy pushing the protestors, so he will barely notice you.
With him dead, stay in the bushes, hold down the Assassins Guild button and choose the "Marksman". Now aim at the target and press the button once again. That way you will order your associate to kill the officer.
Free the civilian held in stocks.
Catch and kill the bandit who's forcing tribute.
After a conversation in the tavern, you will receive a mission of killing the local Templar officer.
Head to the designated spot, press the Assassins Guild button and choose "Bodyguard".
Doing so you will call in your associates who will attack and guard who notices you. Head together to the end of the pier and kill the officer to end the mission.

Defeat the officer to gain the information. Use fists to get rid of his guards and afterwards disarm the officer himself.
Approach him outside of combat to complete the mission.
Your mission will be planting a falsified document to a designated informer. In order to do that, sneak up to him from behind and hold down the interaction button. The enemy is so slow with reacting, that you should make it even if he notices you.
Stop the execution by killing all the marked soldiers.
Speak with your contact in the district, head to the shore and use the "Covert Escort" option from the Assassins Guild menu.
That way you will call in disguised recruits and will be able to pass by enemy patrols unnoticed.
Approach the designated target and kill him to end the mission.
You have to burn the poisoned blankets. Defeat the guard beside them and press the interaction button.
Take the diseased to the clinic so that they can get a vaccine. You need to approach them and press the interaction button to take them to the designated spot.
The mission will end when you put the diseased onto the beddings.
Kill the poisoned dog.
You will have to protect a square with the diseased from waves of Templars. Enemies will attack in accordance with the timer at the top of the screen. The first group will approach you from the north, the second from the east and the third once again from the north.
To defend yourself, open the Assassins Guild menu and choose "Ambush" by the clinic exit right before the timer hits zero. Your recruits will then attack any enemy who runs into the marked area.
Apart from that, use the pistol to shoot barrels on the ground. Their explosions should cause serious damage to enemy forces. With the last group eliminated, the mission will end.
Defend the farm from the incoming enemies. It's worth to call in recruits to help you, as the enemies will be high in numbers and the civilian can lose health.
Beat the merchants to help the starving children. Just remember to use fists instead of hidden blades.
Defend the family from eviction by defeating the guards.
The mission consists of killing the Templar leader hiding in the nearby camp. The new recruit skills - "Lure" - will help you in that. It can be used to lure out designated targets. That way you can draw guards away from their posts and safely sneak into a restricted zone.
This mission is best dealt with by just running into the camp and quickly killing the captain, without even trying to sneak. With the main target dead, the rest of the enemies will disappear.
In the game there are four clubs which Connor can join. They are the Boston Brawlers, The Frontiersmen, The Hunting Society and The Thief's Club. Each offers three types of challenges which you can check on the map screen. Additionally the three first clubs also give special side missions. Their description can be found in the further part of this chapter.
In order to be invited to a club, you need to perform (sometimes numerous times) the below activities:
1. Boston Brawlers - beat someone up barehanded.
2. The Frontiersmen - speak with the marked Frontiersmen.
3. The Hunting Society - hunt any animal.
4. The Thief's Club - rob someone.
Below you will find a map with marked camps of the Frontiersmen and the Hunting Society.
The Hunting Society
The Frontiersmen
Speak with the man and head to the marked spot in the west to find three traces left by the bear.
They will lead you to his cave.
As you reach its end, head back a little, pick up the corpse and take it to the designated spot. That way you will lure the beast.
Kill the bear to end the mission.
Find the traces of the wildcat in the designated area and afterwards catch up with it and kill it.
Your next target is the large deer in the north. Head to the designated spot, climb onto the tree and use Eagle Vision.
The animal you're hunting should shine gold.
Wait for it to approach the branch you're on and jump onto it with a hidden blade. That way you will end the mission.
One of the hunters will tell you of an aggressive wolf living in the area. Head to the area marked with a green circle and examine the trace on the rock. That way you will narrow the search area.
Approach the second trace and you will be attacked by a group of animals.
Kill three wolves to lure out their leader. His death will end the mission.
Amongst the rocks in the north there's a dangerous cougar roaming. Head to the marked area along the fallen tree in the east and go into the green circle.
In the middle you will find the beast you're looking for.
Your next target will be an old Elk which can be found at the shore of the marked lake. You can kill it from the nearby tree or by shooting it from a bow/pistol. However one shot from a ranged weapon won't be enough and you will have to chase the animal to finish it off with a second shot.

Speak with the hunters and head to the marked camp to examine the body.
You will be attacked by a wolf. Kill the animal and the mission will end.
Location: The Frontier
In this mission you will have to trace down a supposed beast, which will turn out to be just an ordinary man.
He can be found inside a cave underneath a waterfall.
Location: The Frontier
To complete the mission, head to the designated area, climb onto the lighthouse and examine the "ghost".

Listen to the story and head to the marked area to examine the corpse by the road.
The horseman will soon appear and the mission will end.
Location: Boston
Listen to the conversation in the inn the head to the designated area to eavesdrop onto the citizens.
Eventually you will reach a cemetery where you will have to meet with a widow.
When the woman ends talking, head to the shore and take a closer look at the strange diving suit. That way you will end the mission.

This time you will have to investigate information regarding an UGO. For that, head to the south-west part of town.
Inside the green circle you will see a privy which you have to climb onto. From it, jump onto the nearest tree and climb to its top with the A button.
Jump between branches and you will reach an umbrella which people took for an UFO.
Location: Boston
Start off by talking with the organizer in Boston to unlock the first challenge.
Location: The Frontier
Your first enemy awaits you at the Frontier. As the fight begins, quickly eliminate his companions and afterwards focus your attacks on Bunyon himself.
To defeat him, you should press the jump button after each successful block. The assailant will be knocked out of balance and you will be able to land a couple hits on him. Keep repeating this until the fight ends.

Defeat the sailor in the same way as the previous enemy. Start off with eliminating his comrades and afterwards keep knocking him out of balance to attack.
Location: Boston
Fighting the Smuggler differs from the previous ones as you will have to fight not one, but two powerful enemies. However the tactic still stays the same.
Location: The Frontier
The fight is identical to the first two.

Fighting The Ropebeater will require a different tactic. In order to counter his attack, you will have to keep the interaction button pressed all the time. You will have to aim at a quick dodge without slowing down time. However if time does slow down, don't do anything and wait for Connor to push away the enemy himself.
That way you will avoid getting hit by the enemy, but you will have to attack him himself. For that, make Ropebeater stand with his back to the wooden elements. When you hold down the interaction button and dodge the enemy's attack, quickly hold down the attack button. Your character will perform a quick punch. If the enemy will be close enough to the environment, he should hit the wooden element and get damaged. You won't always succeed, but after a couple attempts it should bring the desired effects. If you lose too much health, stop attacking and focus on blocking. That way you will be able to recover a part of your health.

To defeat the Merchant, slow time by blocking. When the enemy gets pushed away, you need to punch him twice and he will fall down to the ground. Keep repeating this until the fight ends.
The brewery
Location: Boston
To begin the last mission, head to the brewery in Boston, where you met with the organizer. Unfortunately because of a game bug the location might not be marked on your map, so you can find it on the above screenshot.
You will have to fight with the best brawlers in town. You can defeat each enemy in the same way as Peter Bunyon and the Sailor: block their attack and knock the enemy out of balance with the jump button to make the enemy vulnerable for some time. There are however some differences between the fights:
1. The Redcoat - defeat his companions with normal attacks and keep attacking him just like before as he draws his sword.
2. The Docker - beat up the weaker enemies just like the Docker, i.e. by using the jump button.
3. The Surgeon - during the fight the Surgeon, Connor will be poisoned. It will cause the screen to blur and will gradually eat your life. To win, you have to defeat all the enemies as fast as possible.
4. The Huntress - you last enemy will recover all of her health a few times and will keep using smoke bombs to stop attacks. Don't worry about it and keep attacking the Huntress until the fight ends. That way you will also end the whole tournament.
All four clubs in the game have a series of challenges based on the idea of achievements from Steam or PSN. They are divided into sets and completing one unlocks the next one. To check the available challenges, turn on the map and choose "Journal" to find challenges divided into four categories:
- The Hunting Society
- Boston Brawlers
- The Frontiersmen
- The Thief's Club

Hint: He will be marked on the map with the Brawlers icon.
2. Disarm 5 enemies.
Hint: To disarm an enemy, slow down time with a counterattack and press the jump button.
3. Kill 5 enemies affected by a smoke bomb in no more than 10 seconds.
Hint: Start off by buying a smoke bomb in any shop and use it on a group of 5- enemies. After they get blinded, you will need to perform a quick streak of five assassinations by pressing the attack button to jump between enemies.
4. Kill 25 enemies with the hidden blade.
5. Stealth kill 10 enemies.
6. Kill 10 officers.
Hint: Officers lead British soldiers patrol groups. They can be distinguished by the sabre which they use.
7. Achieve a 5 enemy kill streak.
Hint: Keep pressing the attack button after a successful counterattack and point to enemies who Connor should kill with the analog stick. You need to choose the weakest enemies to continue the streak. Officers and grenadiers are capable of blocking such attacks.
1. Kill 10 grenadiers.
Hint: These enemies wear a kilt and fight using an axe. Firstly disarm them with the jump button and finish off with a normal attack.
2. Kill an enemy with all types of weapons.
Hint: Types of weapons include the following: standard (e.g. an axe), blunt weapons, the hidden blade, small weapons (e.g. the tomahawk), heavy weapons, pistol, musket, bow, poison dart, dope dart, mine.
3. Perform 5 Double Assassinations.
Hint: Double assassinations can be performed by standing above two enemies, choosing the hidden blade and aiming at the enemies so that they both shine. Press the attack button and Connor will perform a double assassination on them.
4. Have the assassin recruits assist Connor in combat 10 times.
5. Liberate 3 forts.
Hint: The locations of forts can be found on the below maps. To liberate them, you need to set fire to the gunpowder storages, kill the officer and change the flag. All these elements will be marked on your map.

1. Achieve a 7 enemy kill streak.
2. Use a rope dart to do a predator move 5 times.
Hint: A description of this move can be found in the "Assassinations - Ranged weapons" section.
3. Own every weapon available in stores.

Hint: Jagers are soldiers with bandanas and hats with a red feather. To defeat them, you need to block their attack and disarm them with the jump button to make them vulnerable to attacks. These enemies most commonly appear during the third level of notoriety.
5. Defend yourself from firing 10 times with a human shield.
Hint: When you see that an enemy is trying to fire at you, approach another soldier and press the jump button to make Connor grab him and block the bullet.
1. Perform 10 Leaps of Faith.
Hint: To perform a Leap of Faith, find one of the Viewpoints marked on the map, and jump from it into a hay/leaves pile of into water.
2. Reach 5 high points (Viewpoints).
Hint: Head to a place marked on the map and press the interaction button in the place above which an eagle will be flying.
3. Discover 5 Underground network entrances.
Hint: Their description can be found in the section describing sewers.

1. Dive into water from a height of 50 meters.
Hint: Such a jump can be performed, among other places, in the location marked in the map of the Frontier. Get onto a tree with an eagle flying above and jump into water from it.
2. Complete an Almanac.
Hint: Information regarding the Almanac can be found in another chapter of the guide.
3. Climb for a total of 1500m.
Hint: This challenge includes all buildings and trees which you climb. When the total amount reached 1500 meters, you will complete the challenge.
4. Discover the location of every trading post in the Frontier.
Hint: They can be found in places marked on the map.

5. Listen to all of Washington's conversations.
Hint: In order to listen to all of Washington's conversations, head to New York after completing the game and find the W letter on the map, around the southern part of the city. There you will find the first president of the United States. Speak to him and don't skip the cinematic. Afterwards, load the 1 memory of the 9th sequence and speak with him again. This time he will be a bit further to the north, marked with a W letter just like before. After this conversation, look for him once again and speak for a third time. That way you will complete the challenge.

Hint: Most guard dogs can be found in the burned district of New York. Throw a bait and they will head towards it.
4. Perform 30 stealth kills without being detected.
5. Steal everything from a rich citizen without being detected.
Hint: Rich citizens walk along the streets of Boston and New York. They are easy to recognize as they are dress in much more expensive clothes than other citizens.
1. Find and empty 10 chests in New York.
Hint: The locations of all chests can be found in the chapter of the guide dedicated to collectibles.
2. Pick-pocket or loot 1,500 pounds.
3. Poison 5 enemies.
Hint: Use poison darts for this.
4. Successfully attack and loot 3 convoys.
Hint: Convoys can be found in random placed of the Frontier. You will be informed of them whenever you're nearby.
5. Win 500 pounds by playing Minigames.
Hint: You can find opponents around the tavern of Boston and New York mostly. It's easiest to complete this challenge by playing checkers.
After moving into Achilles' place, you will have the option of transforming the nearby territory into a small village. To do that, you will first have to find people willing to live in the area. They will be automatically marked on the map as you progress in the game.
Before moving to your village, each person will ask you to solve their problem. Sometimes you will have to deal with aggressive poachers and other times a wild river with a waterfall. A detailed description of all of them can be found in the further part of this chapter, along with the order in which they appear on the map. Some of them require you to complete main sequences beforehand, so move on to them if they are no new missions in the village.
New villagers will not only build houses in the area and move in with their families, but also offer you their services. To use them, head to Achilles' place and use the Ledger which gives you three options: stockpile, crafting and trading.
Stockpile - this option lets you browse items which you possess and buy new goods from the villagers. The more of them you have, the more interesting items you can buy.
Crafting - it allows you to create new items from the materials that you have, which you can later on sell or use against the Templars. Items can be crafted in two ways: either by using a previously obtained pattern, or by experimenting with mixing craftsmen and resources. New patterns can be obtained in return for completing main and side missions. A list of both will be added to the guide later on.
Trading - this option can be used to trade goods by shipping them to shops. Firstly you need to choose the kind of convoy and items you want to ship and afterwards an interested party. Before making a final decision, you will be advised of the time of transport, risk of loss and anticipated benefits.

You will complete the mission as you play the main story mode.

Speak with Achilles and follow him to the hidden cellar. You will have to speak with Norris the miner.
The man will plant explosives by the cave and you will have to shoot them with the pistol.
Afterwards enter the unlocked tunnel and keep heading towards the designated spot. By the end you will find the chest.
Pick the lock and the cave will start crumbling. Quickly jump onto the opposite wall and keep moving left.
After reaching the tunnel, run towards the exit while sticking to the left side of the corridor. If a passage gets blocked by a falling boulder, quickly return to the last fork in the road and choose a different path. By the end, more boulders will start falling and you will have to dodge them by slipping under. You can do it by running forward with the free run button pressed. If Connor doesn't slip under the first time, back out a little and try again.
After finally getting outside, return to Achilles in the basement. That way you will end the mission.

After speaking with Achilles, head to New York and find the homestead icon.
After approaching the destination, press the interaction button and a green dot marking the place where the package is hidden will appear.
To obtain it, go through the roof onto the upper floor of the burned building and open the chest.
The mission will end as you give the obtained item to Achilles. To obtain some interesting information, speak two more times with the old man in the basement.

As you enter Achilles' manor, you will find the corpse of the old man.
After a short cutscene, head to the church in the village and arrange a funeral.
The mission will end when you dig a grave for your mentor with the attack button, while listening to what he wrote in his letter.

In order to complete this mission, head to the manor and hang the painting of Achilles and his family above the fireplace.
You will complete this mission as you play the main story mode.

On the road you will find the wife of one of the lumbermen who will ask you to chase away a burglar who is trying to break into her house.
Quickly head to the designated spot, catch up with the man and kill him.
Location: Homestead
In the marked spot you will meet the lumbermen children who will take you to the place of the brawl. Your task is separating the two fighting men.
To do that, control the two points with the analog sticks so that they push back the two lines. Start off by placing the points nearby the middle and afterwards lowly move them to the outside. The fight will end when both lines are at the opposite sides of the axis.
Afterwards speak with both men and the mission will end.

Two lumbermen will introduce you to the game of Bowls. It's a very easy sport which consists of throwing big balls so that they land as close to the small red one, known as Jack.
Everybody has four balls and the first one to throw is the one whose balls aren't the closest to the Jack.
The interaction button is used to switch between different throws. You can choose a lob and a stronger throw.
Always try to aim in front of the Jack, as the ball will still roll after landing. You can also push out your enemies' balls if they're close to the Jack.
Regardless of the results, the mission will end after the match.

In the designated spot you will find a burning cart and a group of bandits.
Quickly defeat the men, approach the line hanging from the rock and press the interaction button to save Whittler.

Speak with Lance and afterwards meet with him in his old apartment in Boston which will be marked with the Homestead icon.
There you will learn that his workshop has been sold.
Start off by asking the former co-tenant of the carpenter and afterwards follow the man.
You need to stay behind quite a bit, as your friend isn't good at hiding.
As you finally reach the destination, wait for the thief to walk away and take the tools from the chest. That way you will end the mission.

Lance will ask you to head to New York and collect a package for him.
Unfortunately, in the harbor it will turn out that the plans were taken by his former apprentice. To regain them, you need to kill three designated men.
Try to do it silently, so that you don't raise the guards' attention.
With one of the enemies dead, approach his corpse and search it with the interaction button.
After regaining all parts of the document, take them to Lance to end the mission.
Location: Homestead
After meeting with the wounded woman, take her to Achilles' manor.
With your master taking care of her, climb onto the tree marked on the map and wait for the poachers to appear. You need to kill them, at best with the rope dart.
Quickly jump onto a branch above the first enemy, aim at him and hold down the attack button. the target will be strangled to death.
Kill the second enemy using the same method, but this time lean the analog stick towards yourself and Connor will jump down to the ground, hanging the enemy on the branch.
The third enemy needs to be approached from behind. As you get near, aim at him and keep holding down the shoot button until Connor kills the poacher with a hidden blade.
After his death, two more enemies will appear. Quickly turn around 180 degrees and run onto the leaned tree. From above, you will be able to strangle the man below without alarming his friend.
With both of them dead, run to the designated spot and watch a short animation. Afterwards you will only have to return to Achilles to end the mission.

Speak with Myriam and head to the circle marked on the map to find traces of a wild cat. They will be marked with a magnifying glass icon.
After finding the third trace, the beast will appear. Follow it by running onto the fallen tree and afterwards jump down from the rock.
Beside the mine entrance you will find Norris, who will tell you that the car has hidden underground.
Enter the cave and press the interaction button when prompted. Soon afterwards Myriam will make a shot which will end the mission.

Meet with Norris and afterwards head to Myriam with him.
After a short conversation you will have to kill three wolves marked on the map. You can do it by pressing the buttons which appear on the screen.
With the beasts dead, climb onto the marked hunting blind and run to the attacked girl by jumping between branches.
Your target is the poacher. Catch up with him and kill him to end the mission.

Head to the marked spot and defeat the soldiers on the farm. They have attacked a black couple that will move to your village after you save her.
Location: Homestead
Speak with Warren and run to the point marked on the edge of the woods.
As you reach the target, a green circle within which you will find the first trace will appear on the map. It's marked with a magnifying glass icon.
Analyze the traces and head to the next circle to find more. When you find Prudence, it will turn out that she's being attacked by a bear. You need to quickly kill the beast and afterwards take the woman to her husband. That way you will end the mission.

Meet with Warren and Prudence and head to Boston.
You need to head to the Homestead icon and speak with the man waiting there. The will tell you where doctor White can be found.
To end the mission, you need to protect the doctor from the attacking bandits. It's best to do it with quick combos.

In this mission, Prudence will ask you to goad the pigs into the pen. To do that, you will have to block the animals' path so that they run behind the fence. The mission will end as you goad all of them.

Meet with Prudence in the woods. She will ask you to get her a doctor as fast as possible. quickly get onto a horse and ride to the doctor.
As you get nearby his house, the man will hop onto the horse and follow you.
Don't get too far from him, as right behind the bridge you will have to turn left and inform the woman's husband.
As all three of you reach the target, the mission will end.

Save him and you will get your village a good miner.

Meet with Norris and go speak with Prudence about the present.
She will tell you that a bouquet of wild flowers would be a good idea. The most beautiful ones grow on the tall rock.
Start off by climbing onto the rock and jump to the wide crack. With it, you will be able to climb to the middle of the slope. You might come across wolves there, so be ready to press the prompted buttons.
After the fight, follow the trunk left and afterwards move in the same direction by holding onto the edge of the rock.
As you reach the target, press the interaction button to pick the flowers and jump down onto the pile of dry leaves.
The mission will end as you hand the bouquet to Norris.

The young miner will ask you to help him choose a present for Myriam. Head to the woman's camp, make sure you're not noticed and hide in the bushes nearby her hut.
There you have to wait for the huntress to sit by the fireplace and examine the nearby trace with the interaction button.
That way you will learn that Myriam needs a new knife. Tell Norris about this to end the mission. If you get noticed as you're sneaking, quickly leave the red zone and try again.

Norris will ask you to help him obtain an iron ore. After a short talk, meet with him again at the Frontier. The point will be marked on the map with the Homestead icon.
There you will have to protect your companion from British soldiers who will appear after each explosion. Enemies will be coming from three sides which you should secure beforehand.
To do that, pick up the nearby gunpowder barrels and place one on each side.
As enemies get near enough, blow up the barrel with the pistol to make the fight much easier for yourself.
After you eliminate the second group, the mission will end.
Location: New York
Meet with the girl marked on the map of New York and follow her to her mother.
The woman gets beaten by his brutal husband. You need to teach him a lesson yourself. That way you will end the mission and get a new craftsman for your village.
Location: Homestead
Speak with Ellen and head to her former flat in New York.
There you will come across her ex-roommate, who will quickly run away after noticing you.
Examine the chest by the fence and afterwards jump through it to pick up the silk.
Take it to the woman and the mission will end.
Location: Homestead
Together with the other villagers, run to Ellen's house and protect it from the attackers. Don't let them destroy any of the three doors.
Run to the enemies marked with red dots from behind and stun them with the attack button.
The mission will end after you defeat the woman's husband.
Location: Frontier
Another villager is waiting for you at the Frontier. He's a man who deserted from the army and now is persecuted by the British soldiers.
To help him, quickly kill the group of soldiers and in the end kill the last enemy with a pistol shot. That way you will end the mission.
Location: Homestead
Speak with the blacksmith, head to New York and enter any shop marked with the symbol of a British pound.
You will find the required tools in the Homestead menu. They cost 50 pounds in total.
After buying the tools, return to Dave and end the mission.

Meet with the blacksmith and start chasing the soldiers.
You need to quickly catch up and kill him. If he manages to get onto a horse, jump onto the one beside and ride after him. You just need to get close enough and press the attack button for Connor to automatically assassinate him.
The mission will end after you return to Dave.

The British soldiers are preparing for another attempt of catching the deserter.
To defend from the attackers, take the barrel pointed by Dave and place it on the road between the tree and the rock.
A group of soldiers will soon appear there. By shooting the barrel with the pistol, you will quickly eliminate all the enemies. With the last enemy killed, quickly reload the gun and go for the second gunpowder barrel. Place it in the exact same place and wait for the second group of soldiers to appear. The mission will end after their death.

Meet with Warren and Prudence and head to Boston.
You need to head to the Homestead icon and speak with the man waiting there. The will tell you where doctor White can be found.
To end the mission, you need to protect the doctor from the attacking bandits. It's best to do it with quick combos.
Location: Homestead
In this mission, Prudence will ask you to goad the pigs into the pen. To do that, you will have to block the animals' path so that they run behind the fence. The mission will end as you goad all of them.
Location: Homestead
Meet with Prudence in the woods. She will ask you to get her a doctor as fast as possible. quickly get onto a horse and ride to the doctor.
As you get nearby his house, the man will hop onto the horse and follow you.
Don't get too far from him, as right behind the bridge you will have to turn left and inform the woman's husband.
As all three of you reach the target, the mission will end.

Speak with doctor White and head to Boston to meet with the courier.
He will be marked on the map with a Homestead icon.
After a short conversation, you will have to bribe all the boys distributing leaflets. They can be marked in the green circles marked on the map. Use Eagle Vision to see the children in shining gold.
After bribing the last of them, use Eagle Vision again to find the publisher of the leaflets. The man is walking along the main street, so finding him shouldn't be a problem. To end the mission, beat him or steal from him by holding down the interaction button.

Meet with the doctor at the shore and quickly run to Diana (marked on the map).
With the girl taking care of the diseased, you will have to help a couple wounded sailors yourself. Start off with the one in the south and move further north. Be quick, as you have a limited amount of time.
Afterwards return to the doctor to end the memory.

Oliver and Corrine need money to build a new inn.
Give them 1000 pounds and the mission will end.

Enter the inn and stand by the bar. Soon afterwards a priest will enter.
After as short conversation, give him 1000 pounds and your village will have a new church.
Location: Homestead
Start off by meeting with Norris and Myriam by the church. Hear out the good news and listen to what the priest has to say.
After a couple weeks, the miner at your manor will ask you to find his wife-to-be.
You will find traces of the woman on the first floor of the manor, in the form of a flower bouquet and a broken mirror.
Examine both items, head to the balcony and jump between branches to reach the designated area.
After reaching the camp, use Eagle Vision and note Myriam standing on one of the trees. Climb up to her.
The bride will then start running away. Catch her and the wedding will eventually begin.
During the wedding, you will have to speak with two groups of villagers.
Soon afterwards Ellen will give you a flag and the mission will end.
On the shore nearby Davenport's homestead, you will find a man who's in possession of the letters of Captain Kidd, describing locations where you can find pieces of a treasure map. He will agree to give them to you if you bring him enough Peg Leg Trinkets which are hidden on the Frontier, in Boston, New York and in the Homestead. All of them have been marked and described below.

Optional objective: Perform ledge assassinations - 3.
After obtaining the first Peg Leg treasure, return to the man at the shore to learn the localization of Fort Walcott. You will need to sail there with your ship.
After reaching the destination, start moving right along the rocks and climb to the top of the tower.
There you will be able to perform the first ledge assassination. Just press the attack button while hanging below the enemy.
Kill him and head up. Connor will automatically ride along the line to the nearby warehouse.
Approach the first enemy there from behind and stick a hidden blade into his back.
The next soldier can be found on the lower level. Wait for him to turn his back to you and jump onto him from the balustrade.
The further road leads left. Climb onto the wall there and go through the hole on the right. The second part of the warehouse is guarded by three soldiers. Just like before, you need to get rid of them without raising an alarm.
Wait below the roof for the soldiers to turn around and jump down into the hay pile. From it you will be able to assassinate the first enemy.
Afterwards hide behind the wall on the left, whistle onto the second enemy and kill him when he approached you.
The third enemy is directly above you, walking along a small wooden platform. Climb there and, while holding onto the balustrade, wait for the soldier to appear. As he turns around, kill him from the ledge with the hidden blade. That way you will come closer to a full synchronization.
With the area clear, climb above and turn left. From there you will be able to access the further part of the warehouse by jumping between the equipment hanging from the ceiling.
To move on, jump to the other side of the small room and climb onto the second window on the left. From there you will be able to jump to a hole in the wall by holding down the free run button and pressing jump.
Pass through the room full of soldiers by jumping between the chandeliers.
That way you will reach another guard. Jump to him and kill him from a ledge to get full synchronization.
By the next corner, wait for the walking enemy to turn around and quickly kill him and his companion.
You can now whistle at the other one and stick him a hidden blade from behind your cover.
To eliminate the two enemies below, equip the hidden blade, jump onto the balustrade and aim so that both enemies are lit. Press the attack button and Connor will eliminate two targets at the same time.
After clearing the room, examine the hints in the cell on the right to obtain the first piece of the map.
Optional objective: Limit health loss - 33%.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Afterwards you will be attacked by one of the soldiers. In order to defeat him without losing any health, dodge his powerful attack, approach him from behind and knock him down with the jump button. He will be an easy target on the ground.
Optional objective: Achieve minimum kill streak - 3.
Keep running forward while avoiding the flames and head towards the green point.
At some point you will bump into another group of enemies. For full synchronization, try to perform a kill streak before the enemy with the axe approaches you. He's unfortunately resistant to quick counterattacks.
With the last soldier dead, keep running to the left until you reach a window from which you will be able to jump down into the sea. Soon afterwards the mission will come to an end.
This mission will be available after you collect six Peg Leg Trinkets and bring them to the man at the port.
As you reach the shore, climb onto the nearest rocks and jump from them onto the wreck on the right.
That way you will reach a small beach from where you have to climb onto the cliff on the left.
Optional objective: Performing running assassinations - 3.
Optional objective: Stay within range of your target - 40.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Move along the rocks right and left and eventually you will reach an abandoned wreck which is being searched by a thief.
The man will find the piece of man which Connor is looking for and you will have to get it back. Chase the thief, jumping between the ship wrecks.
During the chase, you might come across single enemies. For full synchronization, you will have to make sure to kill them while running. To do that, just keep the free run button pressed and press attack.
Optional objective: Kill the target before he reaches the cave.
At some point you will find yourself on a falling mast. Be ready to use your firearm to kill the enemy before he manages to reach the cave. In the cave itself you will have to fight a group of enemies, killing whom will end the mission.
This mission will be available after you find 16 Peg Leg Trinkets and bring them to the man at the port.
Optional objective: Reach the Octavius within the time limit - 1:00.
Optional objective: Do not fall into water.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
After reaching the destination, slide down the slope and quickly reach the abandoned wreck by jumping between the ice floats.
To get onboard the ship, you need to climb the rocks marked with green dots.
From the highest of them, jump onto the wreck and go to the lower level.
In the captain's quarters you will find the fragment of map that you were looking for.
After you obtain it, you will have to run from the ship. Start off by running straight all the way and when water starts pouring inside, climb up and jump to the other side of the construction by grabbing the ropes hanging from above.
Further road leads above. After finally getting outside, the mission will end.
This mission will become available after you collect all twenty four Peg Leg Trinkets and bring them to the man in the port.
After reaching the abandoned building, run forward and climb onto the wall on the left.
Slowly move in the same direction and jump onto the chandelier to reach the upper floor.
Go through the destroyed door and keep heading onwards until you reach the museum marked with a green point.
There you will find traces which will lead you to the map. The first one is the broken display window on the left, the second the blood stain on the floor and the third the broken vase by the entrance. Eagle Vision will help you in finding them. They will be marked with a magnifying glass icon.
Optional objective: Reach the assailant's location within the time limit - 1:00.
Examine the last trace, turn around and quickly climb onto the balcony on the other side of the museum.
For that, you will have to climb onto the bear on the right and afterwards jump along the wooden beams to the end of the room.
Grab onto the elephant fangs and further onto the big metal object on the right.
As you climb it to the very top, you will be able to jump left and onto the marked balcony.
After reaching your destination, examine two traces: the musket on the left (behind the wolves display) and the mask to the right of the wolves.
After the short cinematic, push the marked shelf and head onwards.
On the left you will find organs which you can climb up. Your destination will be marked on the map with a green point.
After reaching the empty bedroom, slowly move through the hole to the right of the desk. That way you will return to the main room.
There you have to find three traces: a musket leaned against a pillar, a bloodstained clock and another blood stain.
Optional objective: Solve the riddle within the time limit - 1:00.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
When you're done, use the old clock and set the time to 5:50 with the analog sticks. This time is displayed by other clocks inside the cabinet on the right.
That way you will open a secret passage leading to a map fragment.
Optional objective: Solve the riddle within the time limit - 5:00.
As you reach the island, four green circles will be marked on the map, within which you can find traces.
To find the mechanism parts, use Eagle Vision. They will be placed on trees and rocks which will be lit that way.
After examining the trace, you will have to match the symbol to the shining environment parts. Use analog sticks to turn and move the symbol so that the circles forming it are placed on the shining points.
Optional objective: Limit health loss - 30%.
Optional objective: Do not use any ranged weapons against animals.
Optional objective: Completed all the constraints in one playthrough.
Do so with all four symbols and a place which you have to visit will be marked on the map. There, you will be attacked by a groups of wolves. It's easiest to eliminate them using ranged weapons, but that way you will lose the chance to get full synchronization. If you want to defeat the best in close combat, you will have to press the buttons prompted on the screen. Unfortunately during this mission you will have to do it much faster than when fighting ordinary animals. It's rather hard and requires very fast fingers. If you fail to press a button, start quickly pressing the one which will appear afterwards. If you're fast enough, you will manage to free yourself before Connor loses more than 30% of his health.
NOTICE! If you kill the wolves with poison arrows while on a tree, you will still be able to complete the optional objective. This might be a bug which can be fixed in future updates.
With the last animal dead, examine the marked spot and use the pistol to blow up the barrel by the rock. That way you will unlock a cave entrance.
After getting inside, swim forward until you reach a rock which you can climb. Move along the wall and you will reach the artifact you're looking for.
Pick it up and quickly run forward with the free run button pressed. You have a limited amount of time to escape the collapsing cave.
The mission will end as you get outside. You will also obtain captain Kidd's outfit which you can put on in the basement of Davenport's manor.
After completing one of the main story missions, you will become the owner and captain of the Assassin flagship, Aquila. Using it you will be able to head onto special naval missions, earning money and unlocking sea trade routes. In order to view available missions, head to the harbor nearby Achilles' house and speak with the overseer. A description of all the missions will be added to the guide later on.
The rudder is controlled with the left analog stick, while speed is mapped under two buttons, respectively the jump and interaction button. Pressing the first button once will cause the ship to go to half sails, giving you less speed but increasing manoeuvrability. Pressing the button again will set the sails completely and let you reach maximum speed.
Out in the sea, always try to go with the wind, the direction of which can be seen on the mini-map in the lower left corner of the map. Green arrow means that you're sailing with the wind and red against the wind.
During storms, you will additionally have to look out for waves hitting the deck. When you that one is about to hit the ship, press the attack button to make Connor hide and avoid being knocked over.
During naval missions, you will be often attacked by enemy Templar or British units. In order to effectively fight them, you have to learn how to use the weapons of Aquila.
Holding down and then releasing the free run button will launch a powerful cannon volley from the side of the ship, aimed at where the camera is pointing. The path will be marked by a white beam visible on the water. This attack is very powerful, but in order to use it effectively you have to seat the ship's side perfectly towards the enemy.
The second cannon type (swivel gun) is used with the aim button. Hold it down to aim at a target and let go of the button when the changes to red to hit the target. This weapon type can be used to destroy smaller ships, mines and specific elements of an enemy's ship, e.g. gunpowder barrels.
During battles, always attack smaller ships with the swivel gun and swim sideways to bigger units so that you can attack them with a full cannon volley. Also remember no to go full sails as Aquila won't be manoeuvrable enough to avoid enemy fire.
Things are a bit different with attacking forts. When you sail nearby, mortar stands which you need to destroy with a cannon volley will be marked red. For that, swim closer to the shore, turn sideways to the enemy and hold down the free run button to aim at the enemy artillery.
Attacking however isn't the most important part here, as avoiding mortar fire which can damage Aquila considerably is crucial. Each time you hear a warning bell of your ship, go half sails and quickly turn around. Only that way will you be able to avoid the powerful missiles falling in a straight line. Afterwards launch one quick attack and get ready to turn around yet again.
Optional objective: Limit the ship's damage - 50%.
In this mission you will have to protect the merchant ship from the attacks of the gunboats. Try to stay as close to the ship as possible and shoot whenever you see an enemy. You can use both the cannons and the swivel guns. Alternate between using them so that you don't waste time on reloading.
The enemies will firstly come in from the left, then from the right and afterwards they will keep showing up from the left. Try hitting them from as far as possible.
Optional objective: Use a mine to eliminate gunboats.
Protect the merchant ship and eventually you will come across sea mines. Shoot them to make yourself a path between the rocks. The explosion of one mine is enough for a whole line to blow up.
Right behind the first line of mines, look closely to the left. You should note a ship beside a mine. Shoot it to complete the optional objective.
Optional objective: Limit damage from the fort's mortars - 50%
After getting out of the mined archipelago, swim towards the fort marked with a green point. You will have to destroy the English fortifications.
Swim with half sails and quickly turn around whenever you see a bell marking a mortar shot. Between the turns, you should fire a big salvo at the fort and hit one of the three towers. Keep repeating this until all the fortification are destroyed.
After the conversation, approach the mast and climb up the rope. From there you will have to get onto the second mast and climb to its top. From there you should see two ships fighting.
When Connor returns to the deck, approach the wheel and sail in the designated way. To reach the attacked ship, you will need to navigate through numerous rocks. It's not an easy task during sharp wind, so remember to go half sail during strong gusts.
Optional objective: Limit damage from rogue waves - 25%
After you get out of the rock labyrinth, rogue waves will start hitting the ship. Always face them with the board and press the attack button right before they hit to avoid damage.
Optional objective: Limit the number of missed shots - 2
As you reach the merchant ship, try destroying all enemy boats as fast as possible. However for full synchronization, you can miss a shot only once, so be very careful and patient. Be sure to take the waves into consideration, as they can block the path of the cannonball.
Optional objective: Destroy frigates by firing on their weak points - 2
After the battle, keep sailing in the designated way until you get attacked by two frigates. For full synchronization, you need to approach them and hit their weak points with the swivel guns. Blowing up the second ship will end the mission.
Optional objective: Limit damage to La Belladonna - 50%
This time you will have to protect La Belladonna. For full synchronization, you can't let it lose more than 50% of its health.
Optional objective: Sink more enemies than La Belladonna - 11
Keep sailing with the ship and you will be attacked by the British. You need to destroy their ships as fast as possible so that you can win with La Belladonna. Smaller ships are easy to destroy with the swivel guns.
After the first attack, you will be attacked once again but this time a frigate will be amongst the enemy forces. Try destroying it in the first place, attacking the other ships only occasionally.
After fighting off this wave of enemies, Belladonna will be attacked by a ship of the line. Quickly press the inventory button and choose the chain-shot. Use the free run button to shoot it at the enemy and therefore destroy the masts.
Afterwards swim to the ship to board it.
Optional objective: Kill the officer within the given time - 1:00
Onboard the ship of the line you will have to kill its officer. To reach him, go round the nearby mast from the right side. His death will end the mission, but if you manage to kill him in less than a minute, you will also complete the optional objective.
Optional objective: Destroy the Randolph's mast with a single broadside.
Optional objective: Take out the Men-of-War within the given time - 3:00.
After the mission begins, swim between the rocks to the left, following the ship.
Soon afterwards you will be attacked by two more ships from the right. Start the fight by going half sails and destroying the masts of Randolph. For full synchronization, you need to land a perfect chain salvo. Take into consideration the enemy ship's speed and how the cannonballs' flight path. The optional objective requires that all of them hit the enemy.
With Randolph immobilised, move on to the other enemies. You have to destroy them in 3 minutes and move on to boarding the ships. This might prove very hard if you haven't upgraded your ship properly. Most of all you should buy the heated shot so that you can destroy enemy ships fast. It's best to get nearby an enemy, pass by him and shoot a full heated salvo.
After a successful attack, a white ring should appear on the enemy ship, pointing to the gunpowder storage. Shoot it with the swivel guns to sink the ship.
Optional objective: Kill only Biddle.
With both of then sunk, sail to the previously immobilizes ship and board it. Don't bother fighting, just run straight to the captain.
To defeat Biddle, press the jump or counterattack button after each successful block and afterwards hit him a couple times while he's out of balance.
Follow the same tactic below deck and you should end the mission fast.
Optional objective: Limit ally health loss - 50%
Your mission is to protect the Henderson, a ship under attack by the British. Firstly use swivel guns to eliminate the closest ships and afterwards use cannons to get rid of the others. You need to be very fast, as otherwise Henderson will receive too much damage and you won't complete the optional objective. You should upgrade Aquila before beginning this mission, for example buy the heated shot which will make destroying bigger enemies much faster.
Optional objective: Destroy ships by ramming them - 3.
After the mission begins, sail around the nearby lighthouse and head to the green circle marked on the map.
There you will be attacked by a big group of British ships. Luckily they are rather weakly armed and a few quick salvos should end the battle.
If you however want to complete the optional objective, try not to attack the enemies for now, but instead sail so that you're facing their board with your with the bow of your ship. Head into the very middle of the formation and you're sure to hit one of the ships. Hit three ships like this and you will earn full synchronization. Hull strength and naval ram upgrades will surely prove to be useful during this mission.
Optional objective: Limit environmental damage - 25%.
Start off by sailing behind the marked ship while sticking to the left shore. With half sails you shouldn't have much problems with avoiding hitting the rocks.
As you reach open sea, you will be attacked from both sides by British ships. Turn left and shoot at the enemies while sailing in circles. Destroy smaller ships with swivel guns and bigger with normal cannons. Destroying the last enemy will end the mission.
Optional objective: Limit damage taken - 50%.
Look out for the waves hitting the ship and head to the green circle. There you will be attacked by three big ships.
Your will have to destroy them without taking too much damage. To do that, it's worth to upgrade hull strength and buy heated shot at the port. The first will increase the endurance of the Aquila, while the second will let you destroy enemy ships faster. Without them, the fight will be much more difficult.
At first you will receive a mission of destroying 8 British ships. It shouldn't be too hard, as the enemy ships are very small units which can be destroyed with one swivel guns shot.
Optional objective: Sink the fleet within the time limit - 1:30.
With the last enemy sunk, sail between the rocks to the designated spot. There you will have to fight the Protector and its guard ships.
To complete the optional objective, quickly eliminate the ship on the right by shooting it with both types of cannons and then move to the bigger ships. Only after it explodes, move to the other ships. If you can't make it within the time limits, buy the heated shot upgrade. It will make destroying the Protector much easier.
Optional objective: Sink a frigate
After the mission begins, sail to the green point and eventually you should see the first enemy ships. Your mission will be protecting the channel from the British. You need to survive for the time shown in the top of the screenshot.
To avoid bigger damage, try destroying the enemy ships before they can get close to you. During the fight you will also have to look out for the nearby rocks. The channel is rather narrow and you might crash the Aquila if you won't look where you're sailing.
Eventually a bigger frigate should appear on the horizon. To complete the optional objective, you will have to destroy it before the time runs out. Just like in the previous missions, you should consider upgrading the heated shot which will make destroying it much easier.
Optional objective: Limit damage taken - 25%
After the mission begins, you will receive a task of destroying four privateer ships. Start off by eliminating two smaller ships and afterwards take care of the others. You need to be very fast about it so that you don't get too much damage. Heated shot and hull strength upgrades will make it much easier.
When a circle appear on one of the ships, shoot it with the swivel gun and you will quickly sink the enemy.
Optional objective: Limit ally health loss - 75%
Sail carefully between the rocks and move closer to the Independence. You will eventually receive a task of protecting the allied ship from the attacking British units.
Stick close to the ship and wait for the enemies to approach you. The first cannon salvo should let you destroy at least one of them. Afterwards sail around the Independence while shooting all the enemies you pass by.
The protected ship should receive some damage, but it should manage to break out and destroy a few enemies. Follow it while eliminating the chasing enemies. If you're accurate, you should be able to blow up all of the enemies before the allied ship loses 75% of its endurance and therefore get full synchronization.
Optional objective: Limit environmental damage - 25%
After the mission begins, sail in the designated direction while avoiding nearby rocks. Get to open sea and therefore you will complete the optional objective.
Keep sailing with the wind and eventually you will be attacked by the Somerset with smaller ships. Start off by eliminating the ships on the right with a quick salvo and swivel guns and afterwards eliminate the enemies on the left similarly.
Leave the Somerset for the end. Shoot it a couple times and a white circle will appear. Shoot it with the swivel gun and the mission will end.
Optional objective: Complete the contract with minimal allied casualties - 4.
After reaching open sea you will receive a task of protecting the merchant ships from four British ships. To complete it with full synchronization, try to shoot very accurately and keep an eye on the sea around you so that you don't lose a single chance to shoot an enemy.
You should sink 1-2 ships before they all split up and start sailing in opposite directions. Enemies aren't very accurate, but if you leave a ship for too long, it will surely get destroyed.
Destroy the last ships and the mission will end.
Optional objective: Limit environmental damage - 25%
Start off by going half sails and sail between the rocks behind the Greyhound.
After reaching open sea, four more enemies will appear. Shoot them first and move to the larger ship. The fight shouldn't cause you much problems.
Optional objective: Sink ships by firing on their powder stores - 3.
During the first phase of this mission you will have to destroy 5 smaller ships to lure in three bigger ones. It shouldn't be too hard, as enemies aren't very durable. One salvo should destroy each of them.
Afterwards you should shoot the bigger enemies until a white circle pointing the gunpowder storage should appear. If you hit them with the swivel gun, you will immediately blow up the ship. Do it three times and the mission will end.
Feathers are collectibles which you will come across during Sequence 4. As young Connor, you will have to obtain three of them to reach full synchronization. The other 47 have been hidden in the Frontier as well, on top of trees and in other hardly accessible places. Below there's a map with all feathers marked on it. In return for collecting all of them you will gain a new suit for Connor known as Kanien'keha:ka. It's a traditional suit of his tribe.

Chests are small boxes containing various useful treasures. Inside them you can find gold and diagrams for new weapons and items. Some of them are open and some require you to pick their locks. You will learn how to do it during the very first sequence. To find all the treasures, use the below map or buy a map at any shop in Boston or New York.
NOTICE! To find the last chest, you need to first complete all district missions and then head to the tavern in Boston. It will be marked on the map with the icon of the missions. The chest is hidden on the upper floor.

During the second sequence, you will come across Benjamin Franklin on Boston. The famous inventor will ask you to recover pages from him almanac which are spread throughout Boston (20) and New York (16). As you approach one of them, it will be carried off by the wind. You will only have a couple seconds to reach and catch it. To do that, always approach the marked spots by jumping between roofs. That way you will save time which you would otherwise need to climb up. Don't worry if you don't manage to catch the page - move away to a different place and it will appear again.
