I am proud to present the game guide for Army of Two, made by Electronic Arts. This article contains general tips referring to gameplay, description of every six missions and the training level, special chapter presenting locations of all intelligence cases hidden in the whole game and a list of achievements available to accomplish in Ao2. I hope that over a hundred photos will reduce the difficulty connected with fights Rios and Salem are struggling - those leading to complete the primary and secondary missions as well.

First of all, jump on the other side of the yellow barrier in front of you and proceed to the shooting range. Using the precise aiming, destroy all the dummies and prepare for a fight with a manned turret. To finish him, you must follow the given orders; first of all crouch behind the low wall and blind fire at the turret. After that tell your partner to attack (press the right part of the D-pad twice to do this). The gate in front of you will open and you'll be able to surround your enemy and kill him. That will end this part of training.
You'll find yourself in front of a wooden box. Move towards it and - while running - press [Y] to slide into cover.
Now you have to learn how to throw grenades properly. Choose that kind of armament from your inventory and activate the aim, so you'll see the probable grenade trajectory. To perform a perfect grenade attack, throw it through the faade door.
Characters will move automatically to another part of the camp. Choose your primary weapon and get to the stone wall. From behind it shoot all the incoming enemies. Piece of cake.
Now it's time to express some feelings. Press the [A] button to show your appreciation. The fire button can be used to rebuke your partner. If you press [RB], you'll be able to exchange weapons with your mate.
The next enemy will require sneaking. Order your buddy to hold his position and shoot at the heavy armored guy. You must now surround the opponent and attack him from behind.
Now proceed to the yellow barrier. Turn on your GPS with [Back] button. After that press [RB] and right part of D-pad simultaneously. You'll activate a co-op snipe. Your job is to shoot your dummy, that's all.
Now it is time for a cool maneuver called back-to-back. Enter the circle placed on the ground to start the whole action (it should start automatically). You need shoot at all incoming enemies in a slow motion. Have fun!
Only reviving training remains. When you around the corner, a wall mine will explode and you'll get harmed. Your partner should try to bring you to a safe location and revive you. During that action you must cover him with an accurate fire. Note that if your partner will get hurt, you will have to help him.
First of all climb the ladder in front of you and enter the building. You should notice a large hole in the floor. Jump down and let your companion help you with a step jump. On a higher level, you'll notice about three enemies - shoot them all and climb up. And don't forget to pull your partner up!
Get out through the door and find some cover on the street. Shoot all visible enemies from behind it. Move along the street and shoot everyone carrying a Kalashnikov. In the end, a cut-scene should turn on.
When it ends, notice glowing green car door. Get close to it and press [A] to use it as a bulletproof shield.
Use it during the gunfight. Constantly move forward, among low walls and cars. Get to a steel gate of the hotel. Enter it and prepare fore the second back-to-back maneuver. This one will be shorter, but more difficult than the previous.
After the fight get close to the damaged column (GPS will show you, which one) and press the [A] button.
Opening the way for Rios and Salem is strongly connected with starting another gunfight instantly. However, they're not so tough. You'll find here your target - Mo' Alim (he wears a cowboy hat). He's a bit more difficult, but an army of two should solve this problem.
After the fight you must run from Somalia. Go forward and turn left. You'll see a market with a few enemies finish them (you may use the co-op snipe to blow up the fuel containers - one is on the balcony and the second stands on the right hand side of the bazaar) and proceed to the balcony.
Your buddy will help you in performing a step jump. Get higher and shoot the eventual survivor (he'll notice what is going on, so you should do it fast). Both of you should get up to continue the mission. Use a machine to finish the rest of Alim's forces. This little fight will end the mission in Somalia.
Due to lack of money, better forget about buying new equipment (unless you're trying to collect all the masks). You start this mission on a parachute. To get some extra cash, use a sniper rifle to shoot the rear rotor of the starting helicopter. This should put his on the ground forever. This will surely attract guards' attention, so shoot them too.
When you land, the third back-to-back action will start automatically. The biggest problem here are Martyrs - suicide enemies with bombs attached to their chests. You should have the whole area under control and kill these guys before they get close.
After this maneuver, a few additional enemies will appear. Of course you must shoot them all. During that gunfight you may use a nice vantage point placed on top of a container; your buddy must help you perform a step jump in order to get up there. Finish everyone and move to a mining cave.
Move forward, through the whole cave. On the other side you'll find some sandbags. Hide behind them.
There'll be a manned turret to your right. Let your buddy collect all the Aggro (or do it yourself) and finish that enemy in cooperation. The rest of opposing force is located in front of you (watching from position of a player walking out of the cave mentioned above). Finish them with traditional methods - in a gunfight. Using Aggro and surrounding can be a bit difficult here. Move forward or approach the turret (watch out for proximity mines). You'll have to finish some additional guys. Do that and get close to the first M-11 missile. Place an explosive charge in the designated place and hide somewhere. After the explosion return to the route filled with sandbags, where you were struggling a pack of enemies. Follow that way - you should see another cave. Enter it.
You'll see a gate inside, on your left hand side. Get close to it and press [A] to rip it off with help of your buddy. You'll find a place suitable for a step jump. Perform it and pull your partner up. Move forward, exterminating every single enemy. In the end, you'll reach a large area with another turret and a few unfriendly Afghans. Kill them all (note there's a vantage point on a container) and move forward. There's a ledge near the tents - it leads to another location.
There's a parachute waiting for you. The characters will use it automatically and you'll have to steer it using left analog stick. Beware of hitting the rock walls and try to avoid bullets and missiles shot at you. If you hit a wall, your flight will get some acceleration. Land in the enemy base. Once the heroes reach the soil, a back-to-back maneuver will start automatically - shoot all incoming enemies. After that, you'll be able to enter the complex through the main gate.
Now it's time for a shopping spree. Buy some new stuff if you'd like to have something new and you can afford it. After the shopping, the gate in front of you will open and a bunch of enemy soldier will open fire at you. There's a lot of opponents here and the time is extremely limited, so let your buddy collect the whole Aggro and take the stairs on the right (watching from the place you do the shopping) to approach the missile.
Plant the bomb and get back. Heal your partner if he needs help. Now go left, watching from the shopping position.
A few enemies will get in your way. Finish them and move forward, passing a truck. There are stairs among the rocks, that lead to a system of steel footbridges. Go upstairs and watch the cut-scene presenting a well-armored terrorist entering the area. Take another stairs to get close to your tough enemy (beware of mines! Try to shoot them when opponents are standing near them).
Approach the gate used by heavily armored guy and press the button located next to it. The gate will open - get inside and press another button. You should find an elevator - use it to continue the game.
Get out of the elevator and take the riot shield leaning against the wall. Take the left way and let your buddy eliminate all visible enemies.
You should approach another gate with buttons. Use them and enter the next location. You'll meet another group of enemies inside. Shoot them from behind a cover. Move forward and take another riot shield with you.
Proceed and kill all enemies attacking you and your buddy. Take the stairs to your right and go to the lower level of the complex. There's one additional guy there. Take him out and enter the corridor. Move forward and finish all incoming enemy forces. Get upstairs and face another group of Afghans. Look around - you should notice a gate marked with a Russian sign and number three. Go that way.
You'll find Hicks there - he has been a collateral for some time. Open the gate and him with you. Now you must get back to the previous location. Order your buddy to lead the way and kill all incoming forces. If you notice he won't handle the job, put Hicks down and help him with your primary weapon. Move forward and get to another elevator located in this mission. Leave Hicks near it and call the elevator.
Once it takes you to the lower level, you'll have another occasion to buy something. If you're loaded, get yourself a sniper rifle - it'll be quite useful in the final part of the mission. After the shopping, move forward. You'll approach a large area filled with enemies. Take the right passage and run to the manned turret you'll see. Surround it and finish the gunner. You can now use the turret to kill more opponents. However, if they're not in your field of fire, abandon the turret and use the sniper rifle. After the gunfight you can complete a secondary objective, which is using the laptop located near the centre of the whole area.
Now go upstairs to another set of footbridges, placed above the location in which you were struggling Afghans a second ago. Finish remaining enemy forces to turn on another cut-scene.
It will show another tough guy - Al Habiib. You have to kill him and his personal guards. Habiib and one of his men are well-armored, so you need to approach them silently from behind. Order your buddy to keep position and fire at the enemies, while you sneak up on Habiib's bodyguard and kill him. The rest of your target's guards are easier - use the sniper rifle to finish them.
When Habiib will realize his men are losing the gunfight, he'll retreat and hide behind a cover made of steel. You can either kill him with grenades, or shooting the top of his head, visible for you from time to time. You choose the way.
Make sure every single enemy is dead and open the door located behind Habiib's hiding place. Inside, you'll find a place marked in red. Place an explosive charge there and get out there.
Mission in Afghanistan ends right here.
Move forward and enter the abandoned American base. Better find some cover, so the rebels who have taken this base won't be able to kill you. Shoot as many enemies as you can, including the one in a turret (use an Aggro tactic to do this). If your opponents are giving you a hard time, use the riot shield placed in the centre of the base. Get to the rooftop of the building located also in the centre. You'll find there the turret you were shooting at and Eisenhower, who must be evacuated.
When you'll meet him, enemy reinforcements will arrive. The turret is quite useless here, you must use your personal gun. Sitting next to Eisenhower and shooting at approaching Iraqis should do the job. When you kill everyone, a cut-scene will start. After it, you'll be able to continue the mission.
Move forward. Your next target is Ali Youssef's lieutenant. Go outside and turn right. Move into an abandoned bazaar, hide somewhere and shoot everyone you'll see. Moreover, beware of proximity mines - there's a couple of them in here. Proceed to a small building, killing and passing a guy in a turret. Clear the mentioned building and notice a gate and a wall located next to it. Let your buddy help you perform a step jump. Get to the higher level, finish visible enemies and pull up your partner, so you can both get on the other side of the wall.
Besides a group of regular enemies, once again you have unman a turret. Defeating these guys should be a trouble, but remember that you can get some extra cover by ripping door from a car nearby. Proceed to that turret and turn left. Move forward and enter a building standing on your way. Clear it and get on its other side. You'll find a bunker door. Open it with the button placed on the right side and get inside.
You'll find more Iraqis inside. A grenade or two should be pretty useful here. Once you clear the bunker, use the ladder to get to a higher level. Up there, you'll find another ladder. Use it, so you'll get on the bunker's rooftop. Now you have to eliminate the lieutenant. There's a helicopter with your target on board. It's about to start, so quickly use an automatic weapon to destroy the fuel container. The explosion should destroy the helicopter. Now turn on your GPS and look around to find a way to the ground. Follow the designated path. Run to a tunnel nearby and open door located in there.
Now you have an occasion to buy something. You'll have an occasion to perform a co-op snipe soon, so if you ran out of sniper ammo, get yourself something new. Move forward. Once you will notice enemy's base, you and your partner will be able to kill both guards simultaneously. Shoot them and attack the rest of the camp. Get to the turret and shoot at everyone coming to kill you, especially Martyrs. During that action, your buddy should get to the bunker nearby and mark it for aircraft.
Move further, but be aware of the fact, that someone may get to your turret and shoot you in the back. Notice that the area here is huge enough to use a sniper rifle. Use it to eliminate incoming enemies, including the one in another turret placed in this base. Pass the empty turret and move to the second part of the camp. You'll meet surprisingly light resistance here. Get to a small building and open its doors with the help of your buddy. A back-to-back action will start, so enjoy killing enemy Iraqis. When the maneuver ends, some opponents will still try to kill. Hide in the building you opened a minute ago - its windows are bulletproof. Eliminate resisting guys and enter the tunnel nearby. Open door inside to continue the mission.
Simply follow the road, killing everyone trying to kill you. Finish the guy in the turret and open the gate at the end of the asphalt road.
This is Youssef's main base. Turn left - it seems a good way leading to our target. Move forward, shoot everyone attacking you. You'll meet a well armored terrorist - use a grenade or an Aggro tactic. GPS will show that the way to Ali Youssef leads through a small bridge. Walk through it to trigger a cut-scene presenting your target and his very, very heavy gun as well.
Enter the warehouse in front of you. Kill the heavily armored guy inside and his buddies. Walk out on the other side of the building. You'll meet Youssef here - he's on a walkway leading to a helipad. If you have some sniper ammo, try to shoot him in the head. If you don't, do the same with standard ammo or throw grenades at him. Youssef will slowly fall back and stop near some fuel barrels. Note they're highly explosive :) His death should end this mission.
This mission also starts with a parachute flight. Shoot the enemies on the deck with your sniper rifle, so you'll land safely. Finish remaining troops in back-to-back maneuver. When it ends, move along the deck, from cover to cover, and eliminate opponents shooting at you. You have to get to four jets preparing for take off. Sabotage them all, so they will stay on the carrier.
Now you have to get to the command deck and speak with carrier's captain. To do so, you must get to a gate leading to that deck. Unfortunately, it's locked. However, there's another way. Get back to the place where you started the whole mission. Open door leading to lower decks.
You'll find a riot shield. Take it and move toward your enemies. There's only a few of them - kill them all, open a small gate and move forward, into a large room with more opponents. Hide behind barrels standing nearby (don't worry - they're not explosive) and shoot everyone in the room. Check out the laptop used by Clyde, climb the ladder and move forward.
Enter the platform above by performing a step jump. Go up first and kill two guards patrolling this area. When you pull up your partner, open the bars and use the blowtorch.
Now you can do some shopping. A good weapon for a medium distance will be quite useful, as you're entering the cargo and jet space.
You have to get on the other side of this area, from cover to cover. There's second Clyde's laptop on your left hand side, it's on a red box. Do what you have to do it with it and kill all remaining enemy troops. You'll receive another objective - get to the jet standing nearby and launch a rocket to destroy door blocking your way to the command deck.
This will also open a way for a well armored enemy. Let your buddy get all Aggro, surround the opponent, kill him and his fellow terrorists. Move forward, towards the red door.
After a short loading, you'll get to the captain's bridge. Approach the injured man in charge and speak to him. When the conversation ends, return to the lift that brought you here. Now you'll have another occasion to buy something, but I think it's not necessary right now. Move forward, preferably with a riot shield.
Your GPS will lead you to a high platform. Eliminate enemies in this area and get on that platform by performing a step jump.
Damage the pipes and jump to the lower level. Open a huge hydraulic door located nearby. Behind it, you'll find another group of terrorists to kill. One of them is heavily armored and armed (with a rocket launcher) - finishing him will result in an extra money transferred to your account. When you kill all the opponents, approach two missiles laying on the floor. Push them on a lift.
GPS will show you a ladder. Climb it and move along the footbridge. There's only one path, so you shouldn't get lost.
Now run as fast as you can. Don't focus on objects flying towards you, but shoot accurately and don't stop, as you running out time. There's a lifeboat located near the door you used to get into the lower deck of the carrier.
Take the stairs and move forwards. Eliminate all enemies that will get in your way. You should reach the pagoda. After a short cut-scene, prepare for a co-op snipe. You need to shoot at a fuel container installed under the bridge. Note, that if you will wait with the shot, your target will flee and the mission status will change to "failed".
Now get back to the place where you started this assignment. Eliminate attackers and use the hovercraft. Sit behind the wheel and follow the river. Remember that your machine can be destroyed, so try to avoid RPG projectiles.
The route is simple and short - you'll see a large closed gate soon. Stop your hovercraft near it (on the right hand side) and get out of it. Now you have an occasion to buy something - you'll have to destroy a Chinook helicopter soon, so get yourself a Stinger or an RPG.
Take the stairs and move forward. There are a few guys here waiting for you. Find some cover and shoot them all.
Move on until you see a fuel tank placed behind some bars. Destroy it with a few bullets. A heavily armored enemy will intercept you. He's coming from the other side of the river, via the bridge. Order you buddy to shoot at him. From the small tower with the fuel tank you'll be able to shoot the guy in the back.
On the other side you'll find another, analogical fuel container. Destroy it too and get back to your hovercraft. The GPS will show a control panel on your way - use it to open the first gate.
Get to your vehicle and park in between the gates. The GPS will show you another control panel. When you use it, a Chinook helicopter will bring some enemy reinforcements. Use your rocket launcher to take it out (aim at the back of the machine) and earn extra ten thousand bucks. Now there's only one remaining panel to use. You'll find it near the second fuel tank. The second gate will open, so get back to you hovercraft.
There are no enemies on the route ahead. Leave your hovercraft at a small pier and get the land. The footbridge ahead leads to a Chinese village. Approach it; you'll see two guards chatting on the right. If you have a sniper rifle, you may perform a co-op snipe to take them both out without attracting enemy's attention. However, if you do not have a rifle, you need to do the job in an old-fashioned way. After finishing a few guys, more Chinook helicopters will carry reinforcements. Kill everyone trying to hunt you. When most of them will die, a cut-scene will start, presenting an explosion. Get to the that damaged place and enter the building through the hole in the gate, made by the bomb.
There's another gate inside, in front of you, This one requires opening. Do it to continue the mission. If you want, you may do some shopping. Note there's a laptop on one of the crates. Use it to earn extra money. Now open the gate on the left. Behind it, you'll find another pack of hostiles and a manned turret. Shoot the regular soldiers and flank the turret from the left. Now enter the building these guys were guarding. Clear the first floor.
Now get upstairs and finish the rest (you may use a lift located on your left, it'll allow you to appear behind the turret guarding the second floor).
Now you have to get to the top of the building. You can get on the damaged stairs by performing a step jump. Be careful, as there are a few enemies coming your way. Note also that the third floor is guarded by a well-armored guy.
There a railroad gate on the top of the building. Open it.
Once you get outside, pick up the riot shield and follow the railway track. You'll get to another gate, but before you it, you need to defeat another heavily armored enemy.
Opening the gate won't end with a success. To save your lives, Rios and Salem will start the only back-to-back action in this mission. Simply shoot at everyone attacking you. Once you end the maneuver, enter the opened building and shoot your way to the control panel.
Once you use it, take the footbridge to get to another building. Inside, you'll find another enemy and a lever. Use it to end the mission in China.
To start this level well, drive your hovercraft on the upper floor of the airport. Finish all incoming enemies and move forwards. Take the stairs to get on the highest level of the building. Get through the double door.
Open next door on your way. You'll find yourself in a huge terminal with loads of enemies - that includes two heavily armored soldiers. Finish them using covers and Aggro tactics. Do the same with regular enemies. Once you finish your opponents, jump over the luggage conveyor and get to the next location. You need to defeat another pack of enemies. Your objective here is to use the control panel placed on the upper floor. In order to get to it, you must find the stairs.
Once you use it, get back downstairs. A system of corridors should lead you to stairs presented in the picture below. This is a way to damaged bars. Rip them off and jump down. Push the footbridge and use it to get into another location.
There, you'll find three enemies and kidnapped Alice. You need to escort her to the extraction point. Another heavily armored guy will get in your way. He's the first Smiley's bodyguard, so you'll get extra payment ($5000) for his head. Only three remaining. Open the gate at the end of the corridor to end the fights on the airport.
Get inside the hovercraft and move forward.
Stop at the power station. Enter it and clear the building. Follow the route showed by GPS; however, before you get through electrified water covering a footbridge, use the control panel located near the entrance on the footbridge to cut the power. Let your buddy get on the other side; meanwhile, you should stay and wait. Restore the power when you'll be asked to do so. Once your buddy returns, get back to the hovercraft.
GPS will show you a way to a monorail station. Approach it and go upstairs, to the wagon. Turn it on to get closer to your final enemy. It appears that there are a few guys with rocket launchers on your way. Don't let them destroy your vehicle!
When you reach your stop, take the stairs on your left and go meet Richard Dalton. A lot of enemy mercenaries will get in your way (not only in front of, but especially inside the SSC building), including the second Smiley's bodyguard.
Finish them all and go towards the lift with black doors. Unfortunately, it's out of order. You have to go upstairs, to the lift control center. You'll meet another bodyguard on your way - execute him and continue your primary mission.
The control center is behind a double door. Kick it, enter, kill the guy inside and use the panel on the wall.
Now get back to the lift with black doors. Of course, expect heavy resistance on your way downstairs. Approach the computers located in front of the lift and use them. Now, once again, you have to go upstairs, but this time you have to get to the highest floor of the building. You'll find a lift over there. Jump on its roof. Once you do it, it'll move, taking you to next location.
You'll see a window right in front of you. It is placed high, so you need to perform step jump to reach it. When you get through it, Rios and Salem will start another back-to-back action. Kill every opponents attacking you and check your GPS. It'll show you the right way, through small door. Get inside, walk downstairs and watch the cut-scene. You'll land in a lobby filled with enemy mercenaries. Those regular ones shouldn't be a trouble (sniper rifle will help here), but there's also a heavily armored guy, standing on stairs. By the way - he's the last bodyguard.
He probably won't move, so all you have to do is to get behind the stairs he's standing on. Quite easy job, if you take out regular soldiers first.
After finishing all the opponents, look at the walls almost entirely covered with servers. Use them all to upload proper files and complete one of objectives. Now get upstairs, to a higher level. You'll meet another pack of hostiles over there, with one well-armored mercenary. Finish them all, not excluding the turret located on the other side of the whole lobby. Once you execute everyone on this level, get to a higher one via the stairs.
Another floor, another group of enemies, with another heavily armored leader. Remember that the weakest guys (with blue symbols over their heads) won't stop coming until you finish this mission. Moreover, note that Phillip Clyde hides somewhere among the furniture with his sniper rifle. Therefore try to kill "heavy" as fast as possible - knock him down with a heavy weapon and finish while he tries to stand up or throw some grenades behind his back.
Clyde is easier. Although he's shots may knock you down to the ground, a few accurate bullets to the head should end his life... and the whole campaign. Congratulations on your finishing Army of Two :)
There are no cases in Somalia, but there are some in next levels. Remember that collecting all intel in a mission gives additional money.
The first case is located near the first M-11 rocket, on a high rock ledge, next to a damaged wooden bridge.
The second one is close to the second missile. Once you defeat the heavily armored enemy in that area, get on the highest level of footbridges to find it.
Third one is at the end of the corridor leading to room with hostage called Hicks.
First case is located next to the first ladder leading to roof, from which you're trying to destroy lieutenant's helicopter.
The second one is in Youssef's base. After calling an air strike, move towards two tents standing near a huge wall. The case stands between the wall and a tent.
You get the third one before fight with Youssef. Don't cross the bridge in the base, but turn around. You should notice a steel platform with stairs leading to it. Search the platform to get the case.
The first one is near the airstrip. Search the right edge of the ship (facing the jets that needs to be sabotaged). You should see a little steel footbridge with a case.
To get the second, you have to reach the moment, when Rios and Salem need to launch a missile at a gate from a jet standing nearby. The case is near that gate, between a wall and some rockets.
The last case is located in that cargo space, in which you have to push missiles on a lift. Note, there are a baskets prepared for playing basketball. The case is behind one of these.
The first case is located near the first closed gate. Notice two small towers with control panels located on both sides of the gate. The case is located in that tower, near which the Chinook helicopter stops to drop reinforcements.
The second case is on the second floor of a two-storey building. This structure is located on your right hand side, as you approach the village.
You can find the last case near the position of the only back-to-back maneuver in this mission. It is located next to a green container, standing in shade.
The first intel case is in the personnel area on the airport. On your way to a control panel, you're passing some office areas, with a case inside.
Before you jump on the lift's roof, move forward, to the end of the balcony. You'll find the case right there.
There are over thirty Achievements in Army of Two. In the left column below, you can see their names (with adequate amounts of points in brackets). Requirements are in the right column.
