Can hedgehogs float

Yes. They are fairly good swimmers.

However, just like us, they can only keep swimming for a certain period of time before they become exhausted and drown. Many European Hedgehogs die in the ponds of thoughtless homeowners who provide no means of escape for them if they fall in.

All ornamental ponds should be equipped with a ramp or submerged island to allow any animal to escape from the water.
