Droid Run, in Star Wars: Battlefront, is all about risk and reward. In this game mode, you basically need to capture all three droids on the map before the enemy team does.
The reason I call it a ‘risk and reward’ mode because it encourages you to play aggressively and be in constant communication with your entire team.
One more thing that you need to learn about these droids is that they roam around the map, but have fixed pathways. Despite this, the location of the droid leaves you to make quite a lot of tactical decisions.
General Tips and Strategies
Like I have mentioned earlier, the droids roam in different areas which is why sometimes they are out in the open and sometimes behind cover — the best place to capture one is behind cover.
Taking risk is an essential part of playing this game mode. If you are in a situation where you only need to capture one droid in order to score a win, you should go for it even if the enemy team is trying to capture your other droids.
Using the Jump Pack SC is one of the essentials of playing this game mode. This will not only allow you to get to unclaimed droids faster, but will also allow you to fall back if your claimed droids are being contested.
In addition to this, you will also be to get to a high vantage point or otherwise inaccessible area and provide your team with crucial information about enemy movement and unclaimed droids.
The last thing that you need to consider while going for unclaimed droids is that it does not take long to claim an already claimed droid; therefore, make sure to leave someone to protect it!
