Here is everything you need to know about this boss fight and how to defeat Gehrman, the First Hunter in the Hunter’s Dream:
Gehrman, the First Hunter is equipped with a couple of long scythes and he uses both his weapons to deliver fast-paced devastating attacks throughout the battle.
There is a little room to attack and in order to do so, dodge a couple of fast-paced attacks from Gehrman and deliver your own attacks – you will only have enough room for maximum two hits before he jumps away.
Sometimes Gehrman also changes to one-handed weapon and increases his combo count to four hits, ending on a gun shot. Once again, your best bet is to dodge all his attacks before moving in with your own attacks. One important thing to note here is that even if Gehrman does not complete his combo; do note risk wading in with your own attacks.
After dropping his HP to around 50 per cent, he will acquire even more agility, damage output, and range. During the later phase of the battle, stick to the same strategy and be on your toes at all the times.
During the second phase of the battle, also keep a watchful eye on an area-of-effect attack. The AOE attack deals massive damage and must be avoided by dodging in any direction.
Finally, Gehrman will leap into the air and create a highly devastating shockwave attack while hanging in the air. One good way to avoid this attack is get directly underneath Gehrman and landing a couple of strikes before moving back.
This is a long battle which requires a lot of patience. Just keep all his attacks in mind and create small windows to land your own strikes.
